I’m going to start with the very obnoxious locals that continued to bad mouth the«tourists» I get it. It must suck to have your town overtaken every weekend. However it is also how this town survives. The locals continued to get more drunk, louder although the owner turned up the radio. Finally the most obnoxious one left. Thank goodness. That was a rant not a reason for my review. 3 stars because the service was very very slow. We sat at the bar and there was a few tables and only 2 servers. We waited about 10 minutes to get a drink and then when I ordered an Irish Mule was asked what bourbon I wanted. I politely corrected her that it was whiskey in an Irish Mule. She then took about her 10 minutes to get my drink. Their credit card machine was down and my assumption that the manager fixing it was more interested in drinking beer than getting it taken care of for his 2 servers getting dumped on. The place got packed and I watched patrons walking out due to poor staffing and inexperienced bartenders.

We stopped in while vacationing in Glenwood after several recommendations from friends in Denver. We had great service by three different baristas. They were friendly, efficient, and attentive. The waffle fries… yum! We had cheddar cheese jalapeño poppers, a French Dip, and chicken fried steak. All of it was great and reasonably priced!

We came here on a self guided brew crawl down Main Street in Glenwood. It is a perfect hole in the wall pub where you can have deep conversation on the barstool and the bartenders keep the beer flowing, A) if you are nice to the bartenders, they will be nice to you. Every time I go in here the staff is mostly female bodied people so I imagine if they act tough or unfriendly it’s because the atmosphere of a little dive bar in a mountain town sometimes calls for it. B) If the bartenders are a little more aloof that just makes for better bar stool freedom of speech. When i sit on a barstool, I usually have things to say so it’s cool if the tenders are close by and occupied enough so you can grab their attention but not so attentive they are overtly eavesdropping– this place(and people) do a fine job of balancing. C) if you want better service at(most) bars– grab the bartenders name, use it only when it’s not annoying and treat them like s human, Happy drinking! #yoursaucyvegan

Local flavor and great for a drink after dinner. The staff were attentive without hovering. It is a great dive bar and it is not a tourist trap. The beer selection is limited. I’m sure they are fine with simple mixed drinks. If you are looking for trendy or hipster this is not your joint. My hubby and I had a great time, were able to enjoy our beer & converse with some classic rock background music.

After arriving to DOC’s for a late dinner it was clear this is not a place to have a meal. We ordered rocky mountain oysters since we we’re in the area and they were pretty good. After a long wait for the main course half of the orders were wrong as well as a fly in my friends sandwhich. When telling the waitress she just scraped it off. Then waiting for the checks took over 20 minutes which was very annoying. I will not be coming back but if you are just looking for a drink don’t mind this review.

I will give it two stars because you can choose your own music. The reason u give this place a bad review is because the bar tenders are so rude. I asked about cost of shots and was met with a bunch of attitude from the bartender. She was short with black hair. Then my friend when to the bar and the bartender asked the guy behind her what he wanted. I will go back for the music but not tip those horrible bartenders. If management reads this you should tell your bartenders to be nice to all the people spending money not just guys they want to flirt with. I walked in the bathroom to see a lady and guy doing certain«activities». So my point is it’s a interesting bar some might say trashy but not many options in Gleenwood.

I thought watering down the booze was against some kind of rule, or at least not a good practice… I’ve never had a watered down Basil Hayden before, now I know what to look for. Good whiskey fans, beware of this place…

Fantastic place. This spot was right on from the get-go, but Chelsea made it really rock. I will certainly be back every time I am in town.

I really hope this gets back to the owner but I know it probably won’t. Will you please clean your beer taps? I can even do it for you if you like. I ordered a Sunshine Wheat and I could only take one sip before I gave up. It tasted like dust and mold, which is probably what is sitting in your line. With all the beer geeks in Colorado, it is really important to have clean lines when you’re serving craft beer.

This is a dive bar at best. The owner of this bar also owns the bar right next to it. Service is slow and the music is god awful load(both bars) It was so-so as are most of the bars in Glenwood Springs.

The atmosphere in this«little Joint» was as good as the food. I recommend the Bison /buffalo burger. The service was friendly and attentive. I would visit this place again and again.

The first thing you should know about Doc Hollidays is that while it’s got a nice charm to it and a really cool«old west» aesthetic, it is a dive bar. I just felt like I needed to say that because I think some folks expect a fun little tourist bar… and it’s not. It’s very much a local’s dive bar where they can go for cheap, strong drinks. I dropped in for a drink or two before dinner down the street at Pullman’s-I came in around 7:15 on a Saturday and found a spot at the bar right away. The bartender took my order right away, so service is prompt, which is always nice. Seeing as it’s an old west bar, I ordered a whiskey drink(Jack and Coke). It was nice and strong, but not to the point where it was hard to drink. Well mixed but definitely nice and strong. I had two, and each one came out to $ 4, which I thought was a great price for a drink that stiff-I’ve have $ 7 Jack and Cokes before that tasted like water! Doc Hollidays is a cool dive-y locals(not touristy) bar with cheap, stiff drinks, and a great bar staff. If you’re in Glenwood and looking for a good watering hole or a place to have a drink before dinner, look no further.

Not sure if I went in during Happy Hour or not. But the mixed drinks are inexpensive. The beers are reasonable as well. The Ambiance and Décor is great with Dark Wood everywhere in the bar. Comfortable seating at the bar. They have really cool and funky tables that look like half of a whiskey barrel. The Bartenders are awesome and attententive and never let you feel neglected. I was kinda hungry so i went with the Green Chili. It came with Tortillas as well. It was made from a Pork Green Chili. And had some kick but wasnt over powering. Only thing that could of made it better, would be a dollop of sour crème on top. The Patrons are awesome people, and easily willing to strike up a conversation with you. Theirs a Juke Box, Tv’s and some Pool tables in the back as well. The back of the menu has some history about Doc Holliday as well, and Artifacts are all over the walls.

The beer and staff were pretty awesome and the prices were good for the mountains. We ordered some chips and guacamole. Jajajajajajajajajaja as we would say in Mexico. I’m pretty sure it came out of a can. Aside from the guac that was funny more than anything else, this place was just fine.

Saloon with some good food. The atmosphere is dark but has a basic saloon feel to it. The service was alright, not overly attentive but she took care of what she needed to. The food was the high point. I did the rib-eye sandwich which was rib-eye that had been sliced thing with peppers and onions. It was very good. The onion rings I got with it were good as well. The beer was cold and at $ 3.75 a glass not overly priced.

Doc Holliday; a gambler, a gun fighter, and a dentist. The Saloon: full of hoopleheads, hobnobbers, degenerates and the dehydrated. This is my kind of bar. Great tap selection, including a mix of micro, international and domestic brews. Please note: –Odd bathroom situation(Doc’s for dudes n Kate’s for chicks. The saloon door to the girls loo has no lock… be ready for some drunken visitors) –The main bar is over 100 years old and was shipped over just to be there. I think it even has the original backing as well! –decent pub fair as far as pub fair goes, I’ve had better, and boy oh boy, I’ve had worse. But, this is probably as cheep as it gets in the area. I ‘doc’ one star because of the standoffish bar tenders on my last visit. I’m pretty sure I shower regularly enough and don’t have any bubbling welts on my forehead that would suggest a high risk of contamination to enter within a 10 foot radius of the pulsating volcanoes… but I seemed to have been quite misguided by my mirror and schnoz, because both of the young female bartenders only came to my end of the bar to give me another drink(they were timely about it, so that’s why it’s only one star. Also, It did give me ample time to peruse my ‘People Watching’ selections. I could hardly make up my mind everyone was so fascinating). They spend plenty of time shmoozing the rest of the male bar patrons, but I fear my female chromosomes might have shied them away in fear that ‘females don’t tip other females’. That’s just irritating and makes me want to deliver a swift throat punch. Chicken and egg I guess… My Doc Hollidays experience prior to this was 100%. I had a great chat with both of the girls working that night, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I suppose if I was really in need of attention I could always cry, that works in movies right? Regardless, everything else about the bar is glorious and will keep me coming back every time I am in Glenwood.
