Inattentive service, bad food. Low prices but I’d rather eat McDonalds(higher quality).

Great breakfast at reasonable price. Loved the coffee and you can hear them grind the beans as they make a fresh pot! Local bakery breads from Virgilio’s that are always great. Remember to bring cash but worth the drive!

Such a charming diner with delicious homemade breakfast and charming staff. If you’re looking to have a nice breakfast, you shouldn’t skip this place. We were very happy with our experience and honestly I have not missed anything

Came to Gloucester for the whale watch nearby and we found this place down the street. A small, quaint, quiet breakfast spot. Located in a busy traffic area, one could mistakenly pass by it without realizing it was a breakfast place. Food items written in bold capitalized letters all crammed into the menu to accompany all of their menu items. I don’t know if it was good to have so much to choose from or overwhelmingly bad because it made it ten times harder for me to choose! Service was friendly but I had some skepticism after leaving. I ordered the apple and cheddar omelette with the side of house fries and rye bread. Problem was — waitress said they ran out of rye bread(so I went with cinnamon toast) but a little later, another customer came up to make an order and I had overheard her order something with rye bread. Thought she’d get the apologetic«sorry, we ran out» but nope. So they did have rye bread?! Did I get lied to? House fries were good, cinnamon toast was bad, and the apple cheddar omelette was sub par.

My wife & I will do a yearly early morning bike trek up the coast to Gloucester /cape Ann and the stopping point is usually Lee’s. It’s above average diner food — especially the breakfast options. Never been disappointed in their hash. Don’t go for fancy surroundings & top notch service but instead for the local chatter & good vibe. I always love a good breakfast their but it makes the bike trek home a little harder!

When in Gloucester … Locals will tell you that this is the place to come when you work the overnight shift. Wife and I came here this morning to have breakfast and catch up with family that live in the area. Lee’s is strictly a breakfast place that is cash only. The Mrs. ordered the«Bernadette» Benedict. Two poached eggs over tender steak on top of an English muffin and hollanda sauce. It was accompanied by home fries and plenty of coffee. I went a little healthier(somewhat) and had egg beaters with corned beef hash and Portuguese sweet bread. No coffee for me(already well caffeinated at this point) so I had a large glass of orange juice. It seems to me that almost anything on the menu can be topped with hollandaise sauce. They have so many Benedicts to choose from. It is a popular place to start your day as I noticed a fair amount of takeout, or end your day if working overnight.

I loved the Sherri, it was very yummy. Eggs Benedict with a spicy sausage on it. They have a huge variety of Benedicts and they all looked wonderful. Coffee was good, service a little slow but still ok. There is only a handful of places to eat breakfast and this one was a good choice for me. They have lots of variety. The place is small and a little warm inside, but they have the windows open to let the nice cool sea air in to cool you off. Will eat there again.

Went to Lee’s recently because I was in the area for a wedding and someone suggested we go there for breakfast. Have to say that it was outstanding. I ordered the eggs benedict because I love it and someone wrote that they were really good there — no kidding — outstanding! I also went back a second time and got the Irish benedict which was made with corned beef instead of canadian bacon. Both of the dishes were excellent. The coffee was really good also. We didn’t have to wait for a table but the only complaint I really had was that the air conditioning wasn’t on and it was a little warm in there — otherwise, great service, great food.

This is one of the go-to places my cousins & I have to visit while on our yearly Gloucester family reunion. We love it. Lee’s helps me remember to cut Gloucester some slack. You can’t be too hi-falutin’ when you come to Lee’s. All of us cousins live around major cities so, to come to a place that’s able to keep it together, like Lee’s, is good for the soul. Large portions, chummy atmosphere, low-key — it’s all good. I always forget it’s cash only. I’m such a snob.

The place is usually hopping, and the food is typical diner breakfast food. Tasty, but greasy. The service tends to be horrible, I don’t think I have ever seen a single waiter/waitress smile in there. And the service can be rather slow(even at times when it does not appear that busy. The prices are average. Overall, definitely not my favorite place to go, but its hard to screw up breakfast so I’d go there in a pinch, but don’t expect for it to brighten your morning.

Great breakfast spot in Gloucester. The service is friendly, and the menu covers all of the breakfast basics, along with a number of interesting specials. Everything we got was delicious — the pancakes were some of the best around, and the breakfast sandwich with linguica on a sweet roll was outstanding!

Mean and surly. Rolled eyes at our kids(who are so well-behaved in restaurants.) Ignored us(I’ve waited tables… a «hold on; be right with you» is really all most people ask for.) Why seat us if you don’t want the business? I have a high threshold for idiosyncratic service. Mean and surly? No. Why, ladies? Why? Walked out. Used to come here often when I lived here 15 years ago. Never again.

I used to love Lee’s, I really did but in the last couple of years it’s gone down hill to the point that I can’t see myself ever eating there again. Lee’s used to be perfect– great food, great service, great prices. It was always crowded, but that was due to how great it was. These days though, the food is just meh, the service is horrible, and the prices have gone way up. The last time I was at Lee’s, I had the worst waitress. First, we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. That was reasonable since it was summer. Once we were seated though, our waitress had the worst attitude. She spilled my mother’s coffee, and didn’t even apologize. She got two of our orders wrong, and didn’t apologize. She was never seen again once we got our food and we had to ask another waitress for refills on coffee and water. So, we left a tiny tip. And we heard her complain about it as we left the restaurant. No more Lee’s for me. I can go to 20 other places with less of a wait, better food and outstanding service in Gloucester.

Lee’s is exactly what it should be. really faded seashell pastel pink walls a stainless steel milk-udder machine an omelette with guac, nachos & hollandaise?? that my ‘mexican’ novio had to have. Don’t let that scare you there are other far better options. Great coffee out of a mug that says Lee’s in a legit maroon gothic creepy font. The most down to earth server madam in a breakfast joint ever! they open at 5:30 which worked for us, especially since we decided that we couldn’t spend another second in our hotel room– a story that will be explored at a later date… no frills. not dingy. close to awesome simplicity. Lee’s reminds me of a light airy version of the set in the movie ‘Blood DIner” except no one gets mue-deuwred by a creepy grandma lady.
