Food was not bad but service was far from exceptional. Watched our server chat with the staff thru the back room was we waited over 10 minutes for ketchup, by the time she came out my husband was almost finished. Not impressed. From the rest of the reviews I was expecting a lot more customer service, maybe the dinner service is better than the lunch. Wouldn’t recommend.

I don’t even know where to begin — AMAZING! The food, wine, drinks — it is all wonderful. The staff is great and the barkeeps are just spectacular! A MUSTVISIT! Thank you!

Went with my mother for lunch, had the spring hash which was good, sunny side egg cooked perfectly and the hash creamy and buttery but seemed rather small in proportion compared to the jumbo plate. I wish there were more gluten free options for lunch, but the I wouldn’t mind returning to try their gluten free dinner options if I’m ever in the area

I stopped in for lunch and was very happy with my choice. They had a limited lunch menu but that’s okay. I order the Cuban sandwich and house salad… Both were amazing. I’m only in town for a few days but I’m sure I’ll be back for dinner.

Came on weekday for a nice date night dinner. The bottle of Malbec was respectable. We ordered three cheeses and then split the lettuce salad and leg of lamb. The cheeses were okay. The pickled apples, honey, and spread were pretty gross. Not to mention, the bread to cheese ratio was not good either. The salad was average. The lamb was okay but a pretty small portion considering the price. Overall, would probably only come back for wine, not food.

We didn’t have reservations so thought we wouldn’t be able to get seated. We lurked around the charcuterie area and got a table there which is open seating. The wine is expensive but delicious. Didn’t eat while her but the cheese and meat plates looked out of this world. The ambiance is great too. Would make reservations and come back for sure!

It’s probably a good thing I don’t live in Grand Rapids. Can’t imagine that charcuterie and cheese on a daily basis would fit my health plan, but I’m certain that I would end up at this place all the time nonetheless. Yes, the wine selection is as spectacular as advertised, and the tasting program puts every bottle within reach. Yes, the pasta dishes and the rest of the mains are plate licking good. And yes, the service staff knows their stuff and the proper reserved way to show it off. But, man, how could you possibly pass up such a well cultivated showcase of cured meat and a dairy products? So every single meal would have to start with three to five choices from that side of the menu. And that would be oh so good and yet probably not good at all. See you next visit, Reserve.

I had such high hopes… They didn’t have my reservation, so we were sat in the bar, next to the corner & door, in which my husband could not read the menu because it was so dark. I’m a wine drinker so the Wine Flight I had was excellent, and my $ 14 glass of wine was great. My $ 20 Chicken & Dumplings were also excellent, albeit a little food for the price. My husband is a beer drinker and when we asked for a pilsner-like beer, she produced a PBR. Typically he drinks Labatt. With a limited dinner menu, you would think they wouldn’t run out of food… But the Quail was not available(with another entrée as well, but the exact one escapes me). The service was great, she was on top of everything and very good. I would probably go there with a girlfriend for drinks, but not for a dinner date.

This is a great place to wind down with some great charcuterie, cheese and of course wine. Their dinner menu is unique and mostly excellent as well. We were helped to select a great bottle of red and terrific selection of cheese — don’t miss the Hans something cheese and anything from Evergreen Lane. The cheeses are mostly local which is great. After cheese we started with a beet salad which was beautiful, but neither of us liked the cocoa vinaigrette. The homemade penne pasta was awesome(get it) and the root veggies and egg was also worth getting. The only thing we really didn’t care for was the chocolate tart for dessert. Perhaps it wasn’t great because we got it to go. However, it was runny and the flavor combination did not seem to work well. Overall, cannot wait to go back.

This place was such a great find! It has over 100 wines on tap and is a farm-to-table, or as the menu professed, a forrest-to-table restaurant. I sat at the bar, and initially I ordered a flight of wine and the bartender asked why I ordered it. When I said that I liked one of the wines, he suggested that I just get a glass of that because it’s a better deal. Even though it was $ 5 less to do so, he still recommended it to me. And he was right! I really just wanted one big glass of my favorite. I started with the beet salad. It was SUPER small, but the flavors were delicious. Only after I received the dish did I see the S, M, or L(small, medium, large) beside the sections on the menu. It was a good starter but was truly 3 – 4 bites of food. For the entrée I ordered the Autumn Hash with a fried egg. It was perfectly cooked, delicious, and filling without being heavy. I ended the meal with the almond cake and a dessert wine. Again, the cake was very small, but wonderful! This is certainly a restaurant to check out if you are in the Grand Rapids area!

This place has a very cool atmosphere, the design is quite contemporary. The drink selection was great, they have something for everyone from wine to cocktails. The food selection, on the otherhand, was more limited. The menu offers a variety of meats and cheeses but is arranged a little differently with plates being classified as small, medium, large(large being the«entrée»). Within each classification, there wasnt much to choose from. I ordered the duck breast, while delicious, was not what i would have considered to be a «large» dish.

When you come here there isn’t much to «wine» about. Everything is always top notch, especially the service. We came here last night which prompted the review, but we have dined here on multiple occasions for both food and happy hours. Some of our favorite items: the vanilla bacon, the burger served with fries that are fried in lard with a big garlic mayo on the side. The pâté selections are awesome! On the wine side of things there are fancy and affordable options. If you feel like spending big money you can, or you can usually snag a bottle for $ 30. Every once and a while if you are on their email list they even do 50% off specials on slow winter nights.

Located on a busy street in Grand Rapids, this place has got your dining experience down to a science. There is booth, bar and high table seating with really nice overhead lighting with what looks like bent wood light fixtures. The place is really clean(even the bathroom is spotless) so before you even try their food, you are already feeling pretty, good. If price is an issue for you, try the lunch menu(which is reasonable, around $ 15/person). Portion sizes are on the small side but that just means you’ll have to enjoy every last bite! Lamb Reuben Sandwich: OMG — was it delicious, warm and just the right size! Beware that there is a lot of fat on the lamb(which is probably where all the flavor comes in). Cauliflower Soup: seasoned with Moroccan spices and harissa oil. Beautiful fusion of tastes but not at all ‘spicy’(as in, hot). Melon Gazpacho: yikes! This was waaaay too sweet for me. It basically tasted like pureed melon and none of the other ingredients got a chance to shine. I wish they had this under the heading, ‘desserts’. The service was excellent even though the place was super busy due to ArtPrize. I look forward to going back!

Very upscale and modern atmosphere leads for an enjoyable lunch as well as happy hour. The lunch menu provides some light alternatives which is nice, as well as some hearty favorites such as a burger and French dip(roast beef au jus) — Also, the wine and cocktail list is very thorough, so I would imagine one would have a very difficult time not finding a selection they would like. Great food, great wine, great service = will Be back soon.

Although I did not sample more than the«pork fat fries» I was really pleased with the service and the wine. The fries were amazing and were served with a garlic mayo, the wine was served at the perfect temp. The only reason I did not give them five stars is the seating forces you to sit very close to other diners and therefore you are almost forced to speak in whispers and try to focus out other conversations. I will definitely be back.

Excellent service excellent and somewhat limited food. One thing to keep in mind here-this is not where you would find an «all-you-can-eat-buffet“style meal. The portions are small however you are eating some high quality smoked meats. I thoroughly enjoyed the lettuce salad along with a 2 oz samples of both Benton’s Country ham(smoked) and some Prosciutto di Parma and a 2 oz piece of cheddar cheese. I did not try the wine and that is a job for another visit but from the looks of things this is a popular place for wine tasting as well. I had an appointment so I need to come back when I have more time to explore the wine/cheese/meat combos. If you’re in the Grand Rapids downtown area this is an interesting place to visit and it’s certainly on my return list.

This is a gem in the restaurants of Grand Rapids. It is a little bit on the pricier side, so be ready for a nice bill, but know that you are spending money on quality and local products. The wine and champagne offered here is amazing. If you are a connoisseur of fine wine then come here and try a glass. Your glass will run anywhere from $ 6-$ 21 so be cautious. It is easy to rack up a large bill with some of the delicious wines they offer. The variety of wines they have here are great, and many of them have been aged for a decent amount of time. The selection and expertise the staff has about wine is what keeps bringing me back. Food here is farm fresh and local. You will have a great selection for a charcuterie. If there is an entrée that allows you to choose a cheese of their cheese menu(their burger) take advantage and taste some! Oh, and dessert– let me tell you, the pastry chef definitely knows what she’s doing. Don’t leave without it or you’ll regret it! Besides everything being amazing, along with the service and staff, there is one more thing that makes Reserve very special. The place itself has beautiful décor, and the building is meant to be explored for its immaculate details. Don’t be afraid to wander off to the bathroom and gaze at all the architectural and interior details. It is a showcase of beautiful modern design that makes this city so very special.

Pleasant atmosphere, very chic modern décor. Great art work. Gnocchi were fresh and dish was refreshing. Nice modernity without being pretentious. Worthy of a visit if in Grand Rapids. I would eat here way too much if I lived here. This is my kinda place.

Had both lunch and dinner here and food is great. Conveniently located close to the DeVos Center makes it a good place to visit before or after shows. Tried the pork fat fries but was underwhelmed. The venison loin chop however made up for it. Part of their seasonal offerings, was perfectly cooked. The wild mushrooms in the rice was a good complement to the mild game taste of the venison. Our server was excellent and very knowledgable about their pretty extensive wine list. I’m not a big wine drinker, but she helped me put together a nice flight. Still need to try their charcuterie menu. I think the server mentioned they had an in house butcher. Insider tip: sign up for their frequent diner card.
