Discount Tire Store – Grapevine, TX

Called about a rebate but learned only available to their credit card holders. Wasn’t interested in more credit and told the assistant manager, Matthew, that I would need to keep shopping. Instead of losing a customer over a rebate, he have me a discount. We set an appointment for a short time later. The service was quick and efficient. I’m more than a satisfied customer and don’t plan on going anywhere else for my new tires! And neither should you!

I accidently ran over a pothole and needed to replace my tires immediately because they were torn. I went straight to this location and the gentlemen helping me out was very quick, friendly, and helpful! Great customer service (I wish I knew their names) I was afraid I had to wait long but everything was so quick that they finished within 40 minutes (replacing all 4 tires)

Before I took my car in, I called to inquire about pricing and wait times. The man on the phone, who I believe was the manager, was very nice, friendly, and enthusiastic. His positive attitude and price quote, which was $ 0.00, had me sold. The staff at this location is young, but still very courteous and efficient. I definitely recommend this location and will be giving them my business in the future.

I had my Mercedes at the dealer for a repair and they found a nail in the tire. They told me it was unrepairable and that I needed a new tire. I buy tires from Discount and have for years. I brought the car to this Discount Tire and they patched it for free in 21 minutes on a Saturday. They were clear that I did not need a new tire. Great job and honest service, plus thanks to Trevor for his hard work on a hot day.

These guys are awesome! I’ve been twice and out of there in30−40 mins for 2 tires and balance. Go for the tire warranty. I had a chunk taken out of my tire in a car wash. Even though the tire didn’t deflate, they replaced the entire tire.

They never cease to amaze. Came in with my wife’s van original tires with just over 20K on them. Did not have proof of rotation so tire manufacturer won’t do anything, but Matt still tried to make good of bad situation. Went with different tire manufacturer and gave me a very fair deal. Discount Tire employees always seem to try to get customers coming back, by doing everything to keep you happy. Great business model, allowing employees a bit of latitude with pricing. Been using DT for over 16 years, I will always us them. The best!

I had a bubble in my tire and was freaking out about it so I searched Unilocal for the nearest Discount Tires with the highest rating and that’s how I was able to stumble upon this fine store. I was so afraid they would turn me away because I got off of work late but they were so nice about helping me find a tire replacement. They are very efficient and courteous — and I feel like they really care about their customers. It was a little after closing time when I left and they were still helping customers in need.

Conveniently located off of 114… these guys will get you in and out in no time. They are always looking to give you the best rate on tires. If they are out of stock on something, they’ll work with however much you can afford. What a steal! Great quality as well. Free bottled water and magazines in the waiting room while you get hooked up. Free tire rotation, air checks and all that jazz as well. Why go anywhere else when you can get this kind of treatment and still save a heck of a lot of dough!

Sergio’s the man! I came in with one blown tire and one with a lump, and he made it super easy to get it all taken care of. I have warranties on all my tires, but he recommended a higher-​quality Michelin tire with little out of pocket (the warranty covered up to the cost of the original tire).

So my feelings on discount tires are mixed but overall it’s bad.
On the one hand the price of tires, free rotation and free balancing sound great and are better than any other place offers. Discount tires has saved a tire for me with a patch before when we had the road hazard coverage which was great.
The problem comes into practice. My dad bought about two extra pairs of tires due to what we were told was «cupping» of the tires. However, the discount tire guys never mentioned that it could be your shocks OR the balance of the tires. So they managed to get my dad to buy tires within the same year. He finally started talking to someone that is a mechanic and understands cars and realized it was the balance of the tires and shocks. Lesson of that story is… Discount tire guys don’t really know cars and are susceptible to giving you bad advice. Basically, «ugh you should probably just buy a new set of tires to fix your problem!»
Secondly, if you do understand what’s going on with your tires, they still try to shank you! I came in and told them I’m 99% percent sure my tires are out of balance and asked them to balance my tires. So I watch them struggle to balance one of my tires an hour later and can tell my tires were out of balance as they seem to be every 5k miles. As they hand me the keys they tell me «ok we got your two front tires balanced for you so you’re good to go.» It didn’t hit me until I was driving home that he just said only my two front tires. Only doing my two front tires makes no sense. Especially because they found out that my two front tires were out of balance, So the chances were high that my back two were out of balance. Having any tires out of balance creates flat spots on the tires and can throw your alignment off overtime which could potentially destroy your tires causing you to have to buy new ones. So in my opinion they tried to screw me. I had to come in the next day and ask them why I didn’t get all 4 done and I was given no answer just a «oh well get those back tires taken care for you» basically they went oh crap you know we tried to screw you, ok we’ll do our job now… so I waited another hour and wrote this little piece of love :) thanks discount tire!!!
Are there any good tire places out there??? I’m not sure. But this place isn’t any better

Trevor got me in late in the day. Watched Bryan and team change all 4 in about 20 minutes. It was a work of art. Thanks — it was a miracle for me.

Came in with a damage tire. Loaned me a full size spare to get around until tire shipped in. Thank you. You get all my tire business from here on.

Okay, somewhere along the line someone must have placed a curse on me that causes me to have an inordinate amount of issues with tires. So I thought I knew all about Discount Tires, for better or worse, because they have had the pleasure of my business many times over the years.
But I had never come to the Grapevine location. When I got a flat on Thursday, I saved even attempting to repair it for Saturday thinking it would be a long, drawn out issue and I would want my husband to take me home instead of sitting and waiting for hours. I was also crying into my wallet because I wanted to spend my money on fun things this weekend, not a new tire.
We arrived, they had my car in the garage in less than 5 minutes (despite it being relatively busy — when we pulled up I was even more convinced that I had hours of waiting to do) and in under 20 minutes that handed me a bill for $ 0.00. That’s right, it was FREE.
They fixed my tire (which had a giant nail in it), didn’t charge me a damn thing, and had me out the door in under 20 minutes. It was magical. I still don’t fully believe it.
When I questioned the $ 0.00 bill they said, «Yeah, we fix flats for free. So if you ever know anyone with a flat, send them to us.» So there you go, potential flat tire haver. Get on to Grapevine’s Discount Tire!

Have always received good, professional, friendly service here. I’ve had positive experiences at other Discount Tire locations, too. We’ll continue to go here for our tire needs.

What’s not to like about Discount Tire? There are very few businesses (and I mean VERY few) that I am fiercely loyal to, and this is one of them. Their service is just incredible, and there are locations everywhere around the Metroplex. My visit today was for new tires, and even though my old tires had almost 60,000 miles, they were eligible for a pro-​rated credit of $ 10 per tire, knocking $ 40 off of my bill. I had called ahead and set everything up, and when I got there, I basically handed them the keys, paid up front, grabbed a complementary bottle of water and started working on my laptop. I hardly got into work before the tech came in with my keys and said I was good to go.
I’ve also had a great history with them; they’ll rotate your tires for free (which is fairly standard, admittedly), but I’ve also had them balance my tires for free on a few occasions, something they could easily charge for. The employees are friendly, the shops are clean and they’ll even pricematch almost any other company. When you’re looking for tires, Discount Tire is, in my opinion, truly as good as it gets.

What I like:
Transparent pricing. They will tell you everything up front and your final bill matches.
Good range of tires and prices
Pretty quick if you get there right at opening
Quick and free pressure checks, air and flat repairs
What I don’t like:
Appears that the salesmen are incentified to sell replacement «certificates» — its really all they want to talk about. A bit of a hard sell.

Had 4 tires replaced on my Camry. Two weeks later, tried to remove one tire to repair washer fluid reservoir, and discovered several lug nuts were cross-​threaded. If you’ve never experienced this, what happens is the tech starts the lug nut cross-​threaded relative to the stud threads, then applies lots of torque with his impact wrench. The lug nuts are seated against the wheel, but when you try to loosen it, they will only turn with a GREAT amount of torque, then they sieze. Two choices: leave the frozen lug nut on the bolt, or snap the lug bolt off. Final count: 6 out of 10 on front axle were cross-​threaded! Took car in to resolve issue. Asst Mgr. (he would not let me talk to Mgr) said I would need to leave car with them so they could replace studs (lug bolts). Discount Tire provided a ride home and back. Took most of the day to deal with this (7:30 to 4:30).
In retrospect, I should have known something was amiss when I checked the air pressure at home right after installing the new tires. ALL the valve cover caps were cross-​threaded and the tire pressures were random from 29 to 35! How can you cross-​thread those little plastic caps??? How can you cross-​thread a lug nut???
Bottom line: I was fortunate that my teenage daughter, who drives this car, and can change a flat, was not stranded on the side of the road. After a previous Discount Tire screw-​up (another location about two years earlier) where they placed 1 tire of another brand and size on my car after buying a set of 4, the Mgr. gave me a certificate for $ 100 off my next set of tires. All I ended up with after all this recent crap I went through was a handshake and a «We’re sorry.» I am at the end of my business dealings with Discount Tire. Blagg Tire Company here i come.

I have to bump them up to a five!!! Since they don’t hard sell you, they don’t just try to sell you tires if you don’t need them. I went back today to see how my remaining tires were doing and they recommended that I buy one more and that the other two still had some life in them. I ended up financing the tires, so they allowed me to return the tire I bought on Saturday and paid cash for, and they let me «re-​buy» it for six months no interest financing. I went in almost at closing time and no one acted rude or put out that they had to stay late. These guys are awesome!
