I’ve only been to Popeye’s five or six times, so I stood outside and studied the menu through the window to make sure I knew what I wanted and would not hold up the line. Although on Christmas there was no line, I was the only person in the lobby. I told the Hispanic guy behind the counter that I’d like a number 13 dinner with fries and a chicken breast. Popeye’s offers COMBOS which include a drink, side, and biscuit; and DINNERS which include a side and biscuit. I saw $ 2.99 for the chicken breast on the register and didn’t notice that I was charged for the combo, not the dinner. When dude put a drink cup on the counter, I realized I’d been charged for the combo. I said I didn’t want a drink, dude said OK. At this point he should have refunded me a dollar. He asked if I wanted any sauce, I asked for cocktail sauce(number 13 is the butterfly shrimp, which are very good.) He told me he was waiting for the fries. That’s good, keeping the customer posted about the progress. When I got home I noticed that he’d given me buffalo sauce instead of cocktail sauce. Luckily I like buffalo sauce. He handed me my bag of food to go and still hadn’t offered to correct the $ 1 overcharge. So I told him«you charged me $ 1 extra for a drink i didn’t want.» Despite the fact that Popeye’s is already overpriced, I didn’t care about the $ 1 and didn’t want to go through whatever ordeal was required to void a transaction and issue a $ 1 credit or whatever so I just left. KFC has larger chicken breasts and lower prices anyway so I think I’m done with Popeye’s. I’ve been to five of their Portland area stores and it’s usually the same at each one, good food with some kind of problem during what should be a simple transaction.

Good food. The manager lives in his car which is kind of weird. And some of the male workers are just awful to me. I love popeyes but this one worker in particular made my experience awful. Expect to have your loved one hit on by the employees. seen the corporate people too and they are just such A-holes. Also don’t b! tch about the food, it’s fast food and it’s pretty good for that. This isn’t a fancy 5 star restaurant. So if you don’t like it then suck it up and go somewhere else.

Every time I come here, I’m never disappointed. Best Cajun fries! And their chicken is always juicy. Service is pretty great too. Friendly staff.

Ordered our food and then the manager tell me that the guy rang out order up wrong and that I owed them 4.99. I didn’t complain and just paid it and then was looking at my receipt and when I noticed that she now owed me 1.57 she took the receipts and said you wanted 2 large side and he charged you for 2 regular I said yes that’s right a large is 4.99 and here I was charged 5 something for them she said that it’s even cause 2 regular equal a large unsaid you don’t make since and it was your mess up not mine so really you shouldn’t have charged me. She gets attitude cause I asked for my change and well telling another employee how his drawer will now be short handed me my money and slammed the window. I got no butter or honey for my biscuits. I will be calling the owner tomorrow morning. Very poor service when I’m paying so much for the food and then lave to deal with rudeness not ok. I talked with the manager this morning and she said she would handle the situation and she was very nice and she made right for my bad experience. I just drove out here to claim my free 8 piece meal that was to replaces and it was the same rude girl that said she can only give me a 2.50 dollar credit and that I can come back tomorrow to talk to the manager when she is back from vacation. This same girl was rude and snappy with her other employees. If I can give zero stars I would. Also listed in the book was an amber with a 2.50 $ credit and them my whole name that said 8 pieces family meal. And she still wouldn’t give it to me. Watch out for Katia(probably spelled it wrong) but she needs lessons on customer service and respect and how to read cause I just talked to the manager again and she apologized the bad service and it was wrote clear as day that i get the 8 piece family meal for free. She should be fired after her being rude to customers and also other staff there.

While the service I received incredible, the food was horible. The jambalaya was the worse thing I have tasted in a long time, the meat in it tasted like it was 5 days old. The chicken and biskets were both very dry. The food was very disapointing because the service from the staff was probably the best service I have received from a fast food place in a really long time. If the food ever gets better I will defiantly go back.

Its just the WORSTBRANCHEVER. My last visit was similar to the ones before, service is ALWAYS horrible. The only thing that keeps me coming is the fried chicken which is descent. I asked for a small sized breast since the larger sized breasts are usually undercooked, greasy, and just fat. The girl in the headset or speaker whatever cheap electronics they got was not able to hear my order which was 6 small sized breasts spicy. I kept repeating my order like 10 times. However, I pulled forward to the window so that she would hear. The bald manager was hanging out of the window with all the other workers like I was a kind of a joker playing around. I told him want I wanted and he was literally like«all our chickens are the same size«with a loud voice. The guy ended up giving me 6 large chickens. That bald guy and the girl with headphones(which was laughing) are the worst people to put in drive thru service and definitely worst workers.

I normally only eat the red beans and rice at Popeyes. Mostly because it is the best around. However, I decided that I’d try the new rippin’ chicken basket yesterday. I went into the store, which was clean, and asked about the rippin’ chicken. I was told that it was chicken you rip and dip in a sauce. I asked if it was hot, the guy helping me spoke non-english to someone else and then was told that the sauce was habinero. I don’t like things too hot and opted to try it anyway, seeing how I had an option to dip it or not. A couple minutes later the guy walks back to the counter, sets a bag down, says there you go and walks away. I leave the store and head back to work to eat my lunch. Upon rippin’ into my chicken, I see that the chicken has a red tint to it. I try it and it’s pretty hot. I tried to eat a couple more bites, but the heat was more than I liked, so I gave it to my co-worker. Today, I call the store and let them know of the situation. The lady who answered the phone must have been busy because she was very short with me on the phone and really didn’t care about my situation. He stance was that the chicken is hot and that’s that. Even after I let her know I had specifically asked that yesterday, she didn’t care. I told her that I wouldn’t be returning to their location and our call ended. I would have appreciated an offer to get me something as a supplement to my original order or anything that showed they slightly cared. I didn’t ask for anything, but having ran a McDonald’s in the past, I know that that person wouldn’t be working for me.

Chicken is dry and never seems to be hot always lukewarm. I’ve gone to several different Popeye’s in Oregon it’s all the same dry and lukewarm.

Yesterday I went to Popeye’s since I was in the neighborhood otherwise its a long drive to get there. They screwed up my whole order. I spent $ 45 so I was very upset. I ordered the 12 piece meal. I asked for spicy tenders I got mild bone in chicken wanted mashed potatoes and red beans n rice got 2 orders of red beans n rice. Ordered a 3piece tender meal for my nephew since he doesn’t like spicy he ordered fries with his and got mashed. I also ordered a popcorn shrimp and fish meal, it was dry couldn’t eat the shrimp. The lady taking my order was very rude as well. I LOVE Popeye’s which is the only reason they are getting 1 star. I don’t plan on coming back to this location.

We have been coming here for years. The food here is good and reasonably priced. They are open really late another plus. The service has been getting worst though the last few visits. We generally use the drive thru when visiting. The last time we came here we asked for extra sauce and Cajun sprinkles. They didn’t give us any sauce or sprinkles. I was disappointed when we got home and checked our food and there was no sauce. I even asked the girl at the window twice to make sure she heard me. By the time saw the issue, we were too tired to drive back to the restaurant. I probably will come here again, but am going to be extra careful and check my food and any other items I asked for.

Let’s get this out of the way; the chicken is good. Damned good for what it is [read«fast food”]. So why one star? The service here is terrible. Comically terrible. Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider star in «Grown Ups 6: The Straight To VHS Adventure» bad. The employees don’t know what they’re doing. Seriously. I’ve been to this location half a dozen times, and have yet to be helped within five minutes of arriving(even with no line), or by someone who knows how to work the register. The third time I was here I gave my full order, and the cashier stared at me. No words. Just a mouth breathing vapid stare, that only ended when I said«Can I pay?» which was met with an apathetic«oh…yeah…». Does Popeyes drug test? I’m guessing not. Let’s say you get someone who isn’t sharing half a brain with the poultry in the back; be sure to be prepared for some sass. Tonight, after waiting for the employees to stop arguing about who was going to take my order(in front of me) I ordered only to be told they were out of the item I wanted. I replied with«Okay, I’ll need a couple seconds to pick something else» at which point the cashier(her name was ‘Angel’ ironically) rolled her eyes at me, hit the register, and then walked away without saying a word. Luckily she returned a few minutes later, and directed me to order with a «I hate my life so you better hurry up and let me be» look on her face. Oh… joy. At least I got my chicken.

2nd time to eat at this store and both times it was a disappointment. Today I and my Rattie went for some Chicken and since I am a low income senior I ended up with the 2 piece of Chicken and a Biscuit for $ 4.99. I ordered one piece original and the second one(for me) spicy. What I received was a very small leg piece with hardly any meat on the bone and a small breast with more bone than meat. What a waste of my money at this Popeye’s. I used to eat Popeye’s 2 piece Chicken and Biscuit almost everyday at the MLK store and believe me they were a good size. Stay away from this Gresham store.

Well that was a disappointment. I’ve been enduring those Popeyes commercials where the lady asks do you want a fish patty on a squishy bun or butterfly shrimp fried and a biscuit for only $ 4.99. I’m here to tell you yes I did pay $ 4.99 and I did get shrimp fried and a biscuit. What I didn’t get was Cajun butterfly shrimp. This was very plain fried shrimp with zero seasoning. The fries were soft though well seasoned. The roll was the best thing. Love the biscuits! But still it doesn’t make up for the blah shrimp.

Great chicken, however the monthly price increases is too excessive. Come on, $ 5.99 for just a 3 pc box of chicken no sides or drink? small breast &2 wings, WTF? 3 times, same shitty small biz if chicken. Get much better quality & service at Truck stop on Troutdale.

I was so disappointed. Its gone down hill since it first opened. Poor customer service and quality of food. Had cold chicken & fries, the coleslaw was old & bad, and didn’t get what we ordered. Sad. Hope we don’t get sick.

Better fried chicken the other main stream chain. That said its more expensive and difficult getting in and out of the parking lot.

Make sure you look over & count that you have everything before you leave. The drive through lacks quantity control; when I came back to get my biscuits & gravy the manager was able to give me my missing items & an apoology but that was all. They not only lack Quantity Assurance but customer service. I will try this place one more time but if they have not improved these services, I won’t be coming back to this location.

Omg. I got the new chicken tenderloin with garlic. I got the 2 smallest pieces and they were cold. The cajun garlic sauced saved returning it. Rudy j the cashier was less than helpful. My wife got the pepper shrimp with blackened tartar sauce. The manager should oversee food temperature.

The lady before me waited 40 minutes for her food. I, for my single person order, waited a little over 20 minutes. This has happened to me here more than once. At this point, I just can’t honestly claim that the high prices are worth the food /service. I won’t be going out of my way to return here anytime soon.

Easy review. I had gone to LA Fitness in Gresham to work out, and then wanted to get a bite to eat. Popeye’s is next to McDonald’s, and I thought I’d get something from a chicken place instead. Let’s do the math in the other direction. Assume we’re starting with 5 stars, then: deduct 1 star — the chicken main item was bland and tasteless deduct 1 star — while the apparent manager on hand was conscientious, a new employee was being trained, creating a back-up in the ordering area — also, there seemed to be enough employees on hand, yet those with bigger orders seemed to be waiting for a while deduct 1 star — their credit card feature on the point of sale screen was not working, and the order had to be transferred to the drive-through window to be able to run it deduct 1 star — the restaurant eating area was generally unappealing, at least to me, and they had run out of napkins, for which customers had to come up to the counter to let them know I don’t think I’ll be returning. Truthfully, in terms of Southern or Louisiana cuisine, I greatly prefer barbequed meat with that regional theme more so than fried chicken.
