Nothing in the restaurant explains what makes it a honeymoon but dang their foods are the bomb. This place is a nice size and staffs are attentive and quick. I received my food in less than 10 minutes of ordering it, which is really good for a grand opening. I am constantly trying to find foods that will fill me up but leave me feeling awesome and well«not guilty» feeling. I came here with the boyfriend and a guy friend and we all got soup noodles. Man it was delicious. I am going to be coming back very soon and I would suggest this place to all my family and friends.

Great food, great service and great clay-pot rice! My family and I was here on August 15 for dinner. What a surprise with their authentic Cantonese food and taste! Friendly service and they are serving free drinks for celebrating their grand opening. Will definitely come back more often. GREAT!

So first Chinese meal here of this LA trip, I was excited about picking a good restaurant, however, it’s not a easy task, since there are too many Chinese /Asian restaurant around! I randomly picked this place is actually because the name — honey moon… but they also said traditional Cantonese food! I am a cantoness, if something can make me feel like home I will not miss, even the reviews in Unilocal are not that great. Inside of the restaurant– doesn’t feel like honey moon but very much like a Honkongess tea café restaurant, small but cozy. Service– didn’t expect too much somehow the waitress and waiter were super friendly and fast. Food– here comes to an important part! I ordered their popular dish– clay pot rice(mushroom and chicken), which was amazing!!! I can absolutely tell the quality if the food is high, and I tasted the peanut oil too, and no MSG or high sodium– the mushroom would even taste better if they soak into water just a bit longer! The chicken just so so tender and smooth, also very fresh! Besides is healthy and tasty, also very tradition since this dish was my all time favor when I was a kid! Next dish that I order was hometown«chicken yuan zai soup«I almost give this restaurant 5 stars but because of this dish. It was almost perfect, the soup was so clean and tasty, very comfortable to the stomach, chicken was fresh and tender, but the home made noodle is too«homemade», so was not«perfect», they need to add more density to the yuan zai noodle!!! I also ordered their steam fish, well, I was impressed to this one as well, just like it at home! I could tell the fish was so fresh, sauce was homemade since there was no high MSG! Well, I should post more pictures instead, tips to here, just don’t miss their clay pot rice even there were some bad reviews of this dish, it’s a brand new restaurant, I am sure they got rooms to improve, so give them a chance to improve! I personally like the clay pot rice the best!!! I think I will try the homemade pork sausage«la Chang«clay pot rice next time since I smelled the rice from the other table!!! Feel free to check out my attached photos and comments for the other dishes as well:) and enjoy!

New grand opening restaurant in town that I was told rice clay pot is good. Service is so so. That what I expected since is Chinese restaurant Foods are bad. The foods come out barely lukewarm warm or cold in middle. It not busy on the weekday, I dont know why the chef even rush foods out. Only thing that is good was rice clay pot. I probably won’t go back unless I am craving for rice clay pot

We ordered a couple of dishes. The prices are average but the food is kind of bland and tasteless. Service is fast and it wasn’t crowded.

Hope they listen to reviews … Two choices, they can maintain the rice clay pot price but seriously with more topping or bring down the price. I will be coming back for the appetizer calamari, I sure hope they maintain the big portion. It’s good and crispy fresh, but once they shrink the portion … That’s it

I came here with my grandparents and parents and I’ve got to say it EXCEEDED my expectations! The food is GREAT! And the portions are very large! I was very satisfied! The waiters were all very nice, refilling our free glasses of(milk tea, lemon tea) every now and again. DEFINITELY coming back! :)

I think I will make this place one of my favorite, the service is good and very professional. we ordered couple appetizers to start… calamari with pepper salt is very good but the honey chicken wings is even better is pretty much finger licking good. The dry mushroom with chicken clay pot, pork chop in black bean sauce and beef w/ginger and onion is highly recommend it. Overall I think every dishes is good the menu.

I’am very happy and open to try new restaurants! This is why my wife and i decided to give it a shot @ Honeymoon. This place is a Cantonese style restaurant with a simpler menu. thats all. Its a simple version of boston and tappan which are right next door with a simpler, way simpler menu. We ordered a clay pot rice and a order of fried diced tofu. Nothing wow from the taste of the tofu nor the rice. Obviously not worth almost 10 bucks for that clay pot rice! Yes, there’s complementary iced or milk teas, but they do taste like ice water with sugar. i did had an unexpected«wow» moment when i got back home: Diarrhea . Not worth it.

For a grand opening, id not rate them so harshly, so they deserve a 4.5 star. Im not sure what the rest of the reviews are talking about. They must’ve had different servers or picked up their act. I had a delightful experience in there. When I first arrived, my friend and I didnt know what to order so the owner of the place suggested their specialty, the claypots. During the process of making a decision, my friend accidentally knocked over her drink and the waiter on duty was especially tentative to the situation. Cleaned everything up before I returned from the bathroom and gave us a new set of utensils. Their ice lemon tea was pretty good to go along with the chicken and mushroom claypot we ordered. My friend and I shared a claypot and a side of veggies. The claypot’s portion wasnt as bad as others described… I mean, my friend and I shared it and we were filled. Maybe it was because we had a side of veggies? Our rice pot was very tasty. My friend has never had rice in a clay pot before, but I lived half my life in china so it wasnt my first time, and we both loved it. Some of the pictures on here were very deceiving. It seems as if they take the pictures after its half eaten. the pictures of the claypots are mixed already vs. When they present the food its actually pretty nicely organized. They didnt stir it for us, i guess it depends on the waiter? Im glad I went in without reading the reviews or else I wouldve missed a great place! I have to agree, their name is off from their decorations, but its a grand opening so I wouldnt judge them too harshly… there are improvements but they’re doing great so far. Loved the service and food. Even got desserts as a treat from the owner, super nice, and the dessert was yummy! Def would come back.

Free milk tea — taste like water Food — a lot of rice but sauce not a lot Price — pretty pricy for something I could probably make at home myself Service — mess up our order Overall — I won’t come back here again.

I really wanted to write a good review when I first saw the new place opened. But… 1. Not impressed with the clay pot, which looks like the specialty here. — Four of us ordered four different clay pots(mushroom chicken, sausage, pork chop, duck) to share and try. It’s a huge pot with seriously lots of rice… However, the potion of vegetable and meat seem not enough for us to take the rice down… Well, unless you add lots of soy sauce. Once mixed with rice, it’s hard to find the meat… So sad. I feel fried rice even has more stuff for me to count on… — Also it’s probably not a good idea to have so many tiny bones in the meat(for chicken or duck clay pot). It’s not just about the bones. Let me put it this way: the meat itself is not soft enough so it’s very hard to get the bones out of the the meat. Very hard to work on it with my mouth and both hands, and with an empty stomach! Not satisfied at all. — Be patient about the waiting time for clay pot. It takes longer than normal food because it has to be cooked slow. Well I guess half of the money is paid on the work and time spent on it. So. unless you really wanna try the clay pot here, order something else. 2. The service is so so… — We asked for an extra bowl because there were only 3 bowls for 4 of us. We never got it. Didn’t bother to ask again. — The first two clay pots came and we were told to mix it ourselves. Then the last two clay pots came(a different waiter). The waiter opened it and mixed it for us nicely. Kinda curious why the service is not so consistent when served by different people. 3. $ 9.99 each clay pot with 15% off + a free drink because of the grand opening, not a bad price. The regular menu items look a little overpriced to me especially with all lunch specials around the area. 4. The price range doesn’t make this place look like a cash-only place. But when I gave them my credit card to pay the $ 40+ bill, I was told the credit card machine is not working for some reason. I hope it’s just a bad day and they will fix it soon. Hard to say if I will come back or not. I gave two stars because of the grand opening special and I haven’t tried other dishes yet but the clay pots. Ohh.and the free drink is so so. Friend says the lemon tea doesn’t taste very fresh:(

We tried last week, food was OK, we tried to give some opion but they seemed not too happy, we heard they said we have right to refuse serve the picky customers… so we are not going to go back again.

So… I was really excited to be the first person to review this place. I envisioned writing a glowing review of how I discovered this great new gem. Unfortunately, this is not going to be that review. We tried 3 of their clay pots. The first was chicken w/black mushrooms. I felt like it was made from all the small left over bits after they hacked up the chicken. There were tons of splintered bones in it and barely any meat. The second was the salted fish & pork belly. This had the most flavor but still just managed to be mediocre. The last was the quail, which was over wrought with ginger and just small amounts of quail. Also, got the fried flavorless tofu appetizer. I hope this is just grand opening jitters & that they improve. I really hate to give a new restaurant such a harsh review. Maybe others will have better luck?

Give you guys a 2 stars just because it’s brand new. The service are pretty dumb? but I guess if you guys are new to the food industry… I’ll give you some credit. The server that took care of us didn’t really know what’s going on in the restaurant tbh. While we waiting for our spots(we waited outside) and saw a group of people that question one of the waiter I thought it comes with free lemon tea /milk tea? the waiter was like really? I didn’t know… uhh.anyway that’s the server that treated us and the first thing he asked was if we wanted ice tea/milk tea LOL. We were given to go menus to look at and they have quite a lot of stuff to get. They were a bit pricey though and I was actually looking at Unilocal reviews to not get clay pots… so we didn’t get it. WE got the popcorn chicken like dish… and the beef with vegetables. Both were really mediocre and were also given rice to go along with it. Should have listen to my bro and not come but my bro said that Honeymoon is bad but not as bad as Northen Café. So Northen café must be super nasty. Regardless at the end when they give the check, they charged us for milk tea… and that waiter was like oh my bad let me go change it… A lot of services failure. I think they all speak cantonese… for most part I did too cause I assume they won’t be that good on English.

I’m giving it a 2 stars review out of pity. If it wasn’t a grand opening, I would have given it a 1 star and left an ugly review on a piece of napkin. I ordered their 招牌臘味飯 House Smoked Meat Clay Pot: The container is gigantic and resembles a flower pot from Home Depot(without the hole on the bottom). Before the waiter opened the lid, I thought«o wow how am I gonna finish this thing», as he opened the lid and offered to wiggle the spoon for me it became very clear that the portion inside the pot is so small it cannot even feed a starving 3 year old. There are about 4 small pieces of bacon(probably from Costco, and 1 strip of bacon can cut into about 5 pieces) and 5 dinky pieces of sausage(from 99 ranch), some scallions, and nothing else other than white rice. I mean… seriously? Whoever is reading this, you have got to go and try it on your own. There are no vegetables in there, no flavors, so I’m left with a small pot of white rice. I was so glad there was a bottle of soy sauce on the table which I added 3 times to finish the«meal», which came out to be around $ 11 with tip, and this was after a 15% grand opening discount. If you have high blood pressure and cannot eat any salt, COMEHERE! If you want to become skinny or on a strict diet, COMEHERE! If you want to donate money to charity, COMEHERE!(no tax reductions) If you want to feel what it’s like to starve after a meal, COMEHERE! And yes, I am writing a very angry review because I paid $ 11 for a bowl of rice and soy sauce. I expected more, alot more.

This rating is more accurately a 3.5 star. I am rounding up because I don’t think they deserve a 2 star off the bat for their grand opening. The name of the restaurant confuses me. Nothing in the restaurant explaining what makes it a honeymoon either. I bet most customers are gonna be couples. They probably didn’t think this through. Our waitress had the personality of cardboard. It wouldn’t hurt to smile a little bit as a server. Service in general was nice though. Not going to rate décor as it is pretty plain and standard. Foodwise is most important. They won some points for food as most of it was good. What was not good however is the supposed specialty claypots. The balance of flavor is completely bad and has little actual flavor. We ordered two vegetable dishes, beef noodles and french style pepper beef. All had good flavors and was enjoyable. If you want claypots, I recommend going elsewhere. Everything else though seems fairly solid at around 9 – 13 $ per order.

I liked the clay pot(frog and mushroom) but it was a little bland. The beef and egg rice was ok. They only have Sriracha for hot sauce. Eek!
