eh, not surprised this place is closed down. it’s quiet, and there’s never anyone in side(hardly ever)… and their hours are rediculous so bleh… the food here was good no doubt. hah. the first time i came here they were closed, right at like 2 o’clock. no idea why. but okay… but eh it was whatevers.

Unlike previous reviews, the service was pretty good when I was there last time. Their chicken soboro wasn’t too bad and a free refill on the black tea was a nice touch! But just don’t order their salad, nothing special and the chicken just didn’t taste that good comparing to the chicken soboro I got. My friend said the chicken ramen was okay, not something she’d crave since there’s tamaya across colima rd and daikokuya in hacienda heights.

Oh, I love this place and its hilarious name. And also — WAGAMAMA. I remember the first time I heard that, I could not stop laughing. I knew of Kokekokko when it started out in… Yes Plaza I think it was? Like wayyyyyyy back when Yes Plaza was a deserted wasteland. It was located where Tea Bar or Kyo Chun currently is. I loved the place’s smoked chicken salad and although it was pricey then, I always went there for it. The owner was extremely friendly and sociable and still is. The place eventually closed due to Yes Plaza’s then bad business and the place ended moving to its current location Although that beloved smoked chicken salad no longer exists, Kokekokko’s menu has expanded greatly since its humble beginnings in Yes Plaza. I always get either the chicken curry or the karayaki. I had the wagamama and the curry udon noodle soup a few times and both were very good as well. The food is always great and I love the iced tea that they give. Although I prefer the iced green tea they used to always have when they first opened here, the iced plum tea they currently give is not bad either. The interior of the resturant, although small, is cozy and well decorated. I love the clear tabletops with the small stones visible underneath. The place is very clean. Also, Kokekokko used to play concert DVD’s and Asian KTV videos back in the past, but now it mainly plays MTV or some random channel. Regardless, there is entertainment. Service is always quick and the waitresses and waiters are always very polite. I used to buy to-go from here and they always told me it would take about 10 minutes when in reality it probably only took about 5 minutes, but that’s great because by the time I’d drive here from my house, the food would be ready and boxed the second I walk in the door. Very prompt. The owner of the place is a very social & friendly woman, as I mentioned earlier. She constantly goes table to table asking diners for their feedback and whether or not they enjoyed their food. I came once and she was making cheers with diners and even offered free beer(or was it champagne?) to everyone. She’s very attentive to customers and often makes friends with them, chit chatting and such. When I used to go to the Yes Plaza location, she’d constantly talk with my dad and when I’ve gone to this current location with my mom, she’d say hi and talk to her as well. Pricing for the place is decent in my opinion and I honestly cannot think of any downpoints for this place. Great food, quick service, a very friendly owner. I highly recommend this place to anyone

«Oh look, there it is! See the sign? Koko-koko-kiki-ki-kee-ko… « I’m not very good with names. Sorry. I was in search of Shabu Shabu on this particular day and wandered in unannounced. Then I learned that you have to call in advance so that it can be set up. Oh well, I stayed anyways and ordered from the menu. There’s lots of good dishes to choose from here. Ramen, rice bowls, salads, udon. Most of it I could not pronounce but there were plenty of pictures to help me out and the staff answered all my questions and made a few suggestions too. I ordered a rice bowl topped with egg and grilled chicken. It was great! The owner here is a fellow Unilocaler! Very cool! I felt this place got an unfair rep on Unilocal. We talked about that for a bit. Of course you can’t make everyone happy every single time… but the food and service at Kokekokko is really warm and inviting. She did mention that the prices here are on the higher side for a simple meal that would ordinarily be cheaper elsewhere… you want to know why? Because she orders only authentic ingredients from Japanese suppliers that are of higher quality! You get what you pay for… if you want cheap slop, go elsewhere. If you want quality ramen, come on over to Kokeokko

I can’t believe it was possible to piss someone off before even sitting down, but I must say, Kokekokko succeeded. We walked in and this was the conversation: Lady: «Hi, how many?» Me: «2» Lady: «Oh, sit here.» pointing to a small ass table in the middle of the restaurant. Me: «Umm…can we just sit there? No one is here.»(And seriously there was no one in the restaurant) Lady: «No, because if someone else comes in, then we can seat them there.» Me: «Uhh…OK.» And sure enough, no one else came in after that moment. Just sat at a lame ass table the whole time in an empty restaurant. After that moment, the food wasn’t all that exciting or tasty. I would have left if I wasn’t so hungry.

It’s really small place… but with really nice décor. The service was just fine, the food was ok, but the price is just ridiculous. $ 10 for a bowl of rice and ground pork and salty chicken? I rather go to Yoshinoya. So not worth it. i haven’t tried their ramen, but I don’t think I will be coming back. However, their tea is really good, and if they sell that by its self, it would totally be a winner.

I was so disappointed today when I was so looking forward to trying this place for lunch. The sign said that they open at 11am, but I was there at almost 11:30 and there were only some people in the kitchen, but the dining area was still dark with no wait staff to inquire with. Hope to be able to give it a real rating soon.

Came here the other day, kind of a bad location due to the other restaurants are brightly lit with neon lights while this one is off on another building and you can’t see it when you enter the lot. Very small interior, I say it’s good for groups of 4 and less, any more would just be a hassle. Although they do offer private parties/groups but then that means you’re renting out the entire place. They’re going with the ‘cute and random’ décor inside(they have heart shaped pillows, is there something going on that I’m not aware of?), three TVs(only 1 was on and playing the game, I assume the other two are used when they have a party or karaōke), and the seating can be cramped when they get busy. Both waitresses spoke Chinese so I’m assuming it’s another Chinese-ran wannabe Japanese restaurant, pretty common around Rowland though. I got the Wagamama bowl which consists of ground chicken, rice, and more chicken. The flavor was average I would say, they also have a small sign up near the cash register saying ‘due to the inflation add .75 cents to all rice/noodle orders’ which is practically the whole menu. They did give us free tea with refills and chicken broth prior to the meal, then again there was only me with a friend and another group of two. They have this promotion going on with spending $ 10 or more you get 10% off next time, $ 30 — 20% off, and one higher but I forget. This place isn’t bad although I am tired of chicken after leaving this place; hindsight would’ve told me this by the name of the restaurant. I would like to give some of their other items a try, but if you want a bowl of rice and chicken go somewhere else where it’s cheaper.

I love this place even though my coworkers and friends don’t. Not because of the food because it is great but because of the price. They think it is too much to pay for a bowl of rice and chicken. We used to eat at this place when it used to be located at the some plaza in Fullerton & Colima, at that time the Wagamama and unlimited free iced tea was only about $ 5.90. Not everything is so much expense, a Wagamama is about $ 8 and refills are $ 0.99. I don’t go there as often anymore, but I still like the food.

We tried going to this place several times and everytime it was closed. They have wierd hours on Sunday so check first before you go. Finally the last time we tried, it was a Thursday evening and we were able to get in. Their menu includes ramen, rice bowls, currry, udon, and shabu shabu. But apparently they have really good rice bowls. I had their Katsudon rice bowl which came with chicken katsu and cooked egg. It was a pretty big bowl and really good. The rice is good because they use sushi rice which is a little softer and has more flavor. I also ordered the hot tea which comes in it’s own cute tea pot. The first refill is free but afterwards they charge you a $ 1 extra. The total bill for 2 came out to $ 20 including tax and tip. Service is just alright.

you might miss this place, if you haven’t already seen it, since it’s in a big plaza with a whole bunch of other restaurants. My family and I ate here after being put off by the long wait everywhere else and I’m glad we did. The food was really good. The taste was simple, clean and well done. I got the Udon. It had exactly the taste good udon should have. It wasn’t super shoyu(soy sauce) salty, it was a really light and simple broth filled with mushrooms and some other yummy veggies. It was pretty big for a decent price. My brothers both got the chicken bowls. Lots of fresh chicken with a great taste to it, and just enough rice. To drink we ordered just some simple hot green tea. It was some of the best I’ve had in a long time, and I worked at a boba place, so I know tea. =P. But seriously this place is worth trying. I would hate to see a good place go out of business because no one knew about it! SO if you’re looking for something simple that tastes really good, give this place a try. It just might hit the spot! =)
