If you could give a zero or better yet minus, I would. I dined here ONE time and it was DISGUSTING! The plate stunk to high heaven and had grease all over it. The hash browns were old and were about 75% onion. The toast tasted like it was made from REALLY stale bread, and the bacon, no kidding, tasted like a burnt log. I ate 8 tums and still was burping up chimney!!! To boot the coffee was weak. Would have sent it all back but went here for a work Xmas breakfast and after waiting an HOUR for breakfast we only had 20 minutes to eat and get back to work!

Cracker Barrel is what it is, a quick, country-food chain restaurant. They have a large menu, but a lack of diversity and the food, besides their pancakes, tends to taste like it was produced in a chemical vat. That said, their service is on-par. Today I was lucky enough to be seated in Alexis’ section. She’s a fantastic and attentive server with an infectious smile and positive attitude. I only go here because of my family, but at least they have this sparkling gem of a server.

There were many open tables yet our wait was 15 minutes. They were out of first order request.

My hubby has tricked me, tricked me good. Since the first time I went here for breakfast which seems like a half a lifetime ago, I’ve been hooked. Hooked I tell you! First things first, I’m in love with rocking chairs and would buy all the ones outside if I had the chance. The little boutique is darling and has lots of cute and fun stuff. Never gotten anything from there or checked the prices but I’m assuming they might be on the higher side? Correct me if I’m wrong. I do love that although there is almost always a wait(especially for breakfast on weekends) the wait is never painfully long. Big plus with two kids. I like their menu but their kids options for breakfast are pretty pricy, but … kids gotta eat. I normally(I’m obsessed) go with the mama’s french toasts. I love french toast, add a little warm fruit topping and it’s even better. Daughter also loves these and eats them like there is no tomorrow. They also have pretty great orange juice. The service is always on top, always fast. The line for paying might sometimes be a little slow and long but it gives the other party(me in most cases) time to browse the store. They have cute stuff but a little pricy so have never gotten anything from there. Anyway. Breakfast is a hit here, don’t know about lunch or dinner because I’ve never been there that late.

I love this place. I ate here every chance I got when I lived in Virginia. The chicken and dumplings are delicious and I absolutely LOVE the breakfast. I recommend trying the cheese hash browns. The service was always great. I will definitely be returning to another Cracker Barrel but not this one as I moved back to Philly. Check out their store on your way out too.

Been to many Cracker Barrel locations and this one was pretty much the same. I was seated right away, ordered right away, and the food came out pretty quick. Really no complaints and the service is decent.

Been a week since we had been to this Cracker Barrel. Have been in several in the past yr and in different states. Worse experience of any family dining establishments we have ever encountered. Getting seated was not a problem. What happened next was. Ordered food and drinks, hot water for tea and cold water. Took what seemed like an hour to come out but it was about 45 minutes. We had no intention of camping out there at all. When the food was delivered it was not only lukewarm and cold but half was right and half was missing all together. My wife ordered one scrambled egg with cheese. The egg was cold and runny. She also ordered sausage, that was missing. She also asked for toast. That was more like warm bread. I ordered the old man’s plate. Most all of that was only lukewarm. I had dropped my silverware on the floor and when the food arrived I had asked for more silverware. After the waitress coming by and our asking for different silverware 3 or more times, I gave up and used a spoon that didn’t fall on the floor. I also asked for more water for tea(I use my own Tea-bags since I drink a different tea than they carry), that took more than 3 times of asking over about a 20 — 25 minute period. My wife’s sausage and a piece of toast finally was brought out but instead of link like she asked for, it was patty . If you like long waits, wrong orders and cold food. You are ok. I don’t complain much but this was very unbelievable so I had to complain about this place. Don’t think we will go to any other Cracker Barrel after this.

They have the best meatloaf around. That’s the only thing I really get there aside from the Chicken and Dumplings. They also have a good mac and cheese, bad for you oh well. But love that. I also like the decorations they sell. I need to get some Christmas deco this year, I may just get some there.

So I took my son in to have a nice dinner together. He ordered the burger and I ordered the shrimp. BIG mistake, his burger comes out on sliced bread and the few fries he got were cold. My shrimp was over cooked and cold(how do you manage that)! I asked to talk to a manager and was told they ran out of hamburger buns, we’ll I should of been given the choice if I wanted it like that rather than given it that way. All I got was an apology and a free soda for our pathetic dinner that we didn’t eat much of. The manager was arrogant and took forever to come. The server wasn’t much better, how do you deliver wrong food anyway without saying something. And as for that«free» drink, we never got a refill soooooo. To add insult to injury, at the table next to us,(6 people) the manager comped their entire check because one person didn’t get her salad before her entrée. This place is a joke, not the first time I’ve had issues but will be the last, no longer a «guest» ot theirs. I feel like I gave them a $ 40 donation because I still went home and cooked dinner as soon as I left.

This is the kinda place that grew from a diner to a chain but kept the same kinda spirit. Old school refreshing of your coffiee and iced tea and water. The menu is standard diner standard. They do offer some healthy items, vegies and fruit. Not everything is fried and they offer smaller portions too. The décor is kitschy but fun, old signs and tools and photos. Great for groups and families since the menu is pretty large and there is something for everyone. I was on a business trip so ended up getting a breakfast one day and a dinner on another day. The breakfast was perfectly cooked, eggs sunny side up, with grits, gravy and toast. The dinner was very good, Meatloaf, mixed vegies, biscuits and mac and cheese. All very tasty and always served with a smile. Looking for simple food, well made and an easy place to be for a meal, definately go here.

Was on a wait when we got in the restaurant which I understood but then when they called our name(that they put on the wait) we went up to the host stand and they told us that would we be seated when the next 4 top is available… Then why would they call our name for us to sit and wait? Shakira was our waitress and she was very nice and did a great job!

The food was typical and the little gift shop was OK. Service was so-so, had to keep asking for our server just to get a refill on our drinks. Finally got a refill at end of meal. Gee

With around a half dozen visits under my belt at this Cracker Barrel I can say that I’m a big fan. This is a convenient location when I’m in Newport News for swim meets. I don’t often hit up Cracker Barrel’s, but when I do it often is this one. On my most recent visit they were not too busy around 8:30PM on a Saturday thankfully. I found the lot and walks to be clear of both debris and ice from recent weather. I don’t think there has been a time when the exterior area did not present well. A walk in the store and straight to the hostess for seating. Since they were not busy our party of four was seated quickly. The hostess was okay, I’ve had better. Does it take that much time to ask was your day etc. They let us pick the seat we wanted by the fire place. It seems like that I’m always in a hurry and this was no different. Our waitress seemed to never come and another server stopped to check on us to make sure we had been waited on. When we told her no she immediately said she would handle and get drinks. We also asked if we could get the children’s order in first with drinks if okay. She also took care of this with out batting an eye. Overall I have had great service, but what this waitress did was impressive and solidified it as four star. Shortly after the drinks were delivered by our waitress and Mom and Dad orders taken. My son did notice the triangle came that CB is known for was missing a couple of pegs. I also noticed that the flyer in the wooden frame was bent and in poor condition and in need of replacement. The tables all around us were clear if not being used. The floors had no debris and were clean Restrooms were utilized prior to the meals coming and were in terrific shape as always. I did not look around the retail area much, but from what I saw waking through on this visit all was good. On other visits when browsing it’s been organized well and staff has been attentive. The food for the kids were delivered to the kids. French toast w/side of bacon and scrambled eggs for one and chicken strips for the other. Everything hot and the kids enjoyed. Mom and Dad’s orders were close behind, Eggs, bacon and toast and me just an apple dumpling desert since I ate late in the day. All orders correct and delicious. My desert as insane, it was so huge that four adults could probably share it. So unfortunately a lot of waste. The check was delivered promptly and we were on our way within a little over a 30 minutes which was fantastic. I have always found the prices to be fair and my gosh the portions are huge. A walk to the check out and a wait with one cashier assisting a customer that had quite a bit of retail. However, the manager jumped in and assisted us, again solidifying a great review. I would recommend this CB location and will return in the near future for another great meal.

I’m a pretty big fan of CB. However this location really let me down. Warren, my server, gave me great service for the first 10 minutes. After that my drink remained empty, the mixed veggies that my girlfriend ordered were disgusting, the turnip greens were bland, and I had to wait far too long for my check.
If you’re craving Cracker Barrel, I recommend finding another location.

My disappointed outlook on Cracker Barrel, as a whole, has not changed. Once what was great, is hardly endurable these days. It is the little things. Cold food that tastes more and more like it comes out of a microwave. And the lack of nutritional info for those who need to look at their sugar, sodium calorie intakes. I know that when something happens two straight times it is not setting a trend, or enough of a statistical change to get excited about; having said that, our last two visits have gotten us hot to warm food. Instead of the normal barely warm, to cold food, which has been the statistical norm of late. Nothing to write home about. I am not going to have some George Bailey event in my life, where I suddenly change my view on this chain. I am hard on them. Because to not be, would be to lie. One of these days(rolling eyes) every time a bell in the kitchen of a Cracker Barrel rings, some customer gets served hot food here… Not buying that. Cracker Barrel as an entity, is a mess. Struggling to keep up with quickly rising food costs. It shows, in the quality of their food, and in the lack luster outlook of their serving staff. It is, as far as I can tell, losing this struggle. The chain does not offer Senior, Military, Veteran or Police/Fire discounts. For some unknown reason, as a blip on a screen, or a random pothole, this storefront has served us hot to warm food two visits in a row. Your mileage may vary.

Traveling home for thanksgiving we arrived at the hotel late Wednesday night. We were starving and nothing was open, we passed by and noticed some cars in the parking lot of this restaurant. My husband scrambled to find the number to call and see if they were still open. They said that we could order to go if we could be there in four minutes. I ordered the famous chicken and dumplings with pinto beans and greens. She was super nice, he went in to grab the food and they didn’t rush him or give him attitude. He also grabbed so chocolate covered peanuts while paying out. We got to the hotel and ate it was sooooooo good. My son loved it and the greens. It was big portions and they gave us three biscuits with butter and jelly so it was perfect. Any other restaurant would’ve probably turned us away being that it was four minuets to closing a day before Thanksgiving.

I simply love the CB. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner it don’t matter! I find that the service across the board is good, no matter the location. From Virginia to Florida, same food quality also. Now on to the food! I find it to be YUMMY. I loooove their country fried steak, country fried chicken, sausage gravy, grits, french toast, chicken tender salad with homemade ranch dressing and cheese wedge, thick cut bacon, catfish, hashbrown casserole, chicken and dumplings and their FRIEDSHRIMP. Oh and my thighs love the biscuits too with that fresh made apple butter. Talk about a good time! I like the country store too, I love browsing and touching and feeling all over the knickknacks and smelling the Yankee Candles. Great place to take the family also.

Well wifey wanted some Cracker Barrel Breakfast so we hit this particular store up in Hampton Va. Service was GREAT! We had an awesome waiter. Food was OK, Everything was luke warm like it had been under a heating lamp. Food had flavor but sure could use some seasoning. We had a table by the window which was great but it was sticky. I’ve notice every Cracker Barrel is different as far as food and service so select wisely.
