Where do I even begin? It was a train wreck from the beginning. My family was in town for the holidays, and we wanted to play some pub/bar trivia. After a google search, we found that Tapps was promoting their Wednesday night trivia on their website, as well as their FB page. Just to be sure, I called ahead and spoke to a young lady(can’t remember her name). I asked her if trivia was still going on for the night, and she confirmed that it was and that it started at 7:00. We arrived around 6:50 to a VERY empty bar; a few people sitting at the bar, and one couple at a booth. Our party of six stood at the hostess stand, while the bartender, who was behind the bar, stared at us for a while, yet never said anything. It was obvious that we were looking for someone to speak with, or to be told where to sit, but we were ignored. The six of us decided to sit at a booth and the bartender/server/only person working approached us. We asked him about trivia, and he had no idea what we were talking about. He had to check with someone else to confirm that trivia was cancelled and had been for a while. Needless to say, we were quite upset, especially since we called ahead to confirm. We also noticed that the booths had cards advertising their Wednesday night trivia, as well as a commercial over the radio that promoted the trivia. Talk about poor management. Way to inform your employees. Moving on to the drink orders… Three of us ordered extra dirty martinis(two vodka and one gin); a pretty simple drink. Vodka and olive juice. When the bartender brought us our drinks, we noticed that there were no olives. For an extra dirty martini, it’s just something that comes with it. Okay, no big deal. We asked for olives, and the bartender told us that they did not have any. Really? A full bar with no olives? Okay, not the end of the world. He walked away, and we all took our first sip and immediately noticed that our drinks had no olive juice – they were straight liquor. We assumed if they didn’t have olives, they didn’t have olive juice, so we asked the bartender if he made us dirty martinis. He explained that he didn’t have any olive juice either. We wouldn’t have been so upset if he explained this to us before he made our drinks, but we had go to him about it. Not good service. I didn’t want to waste the vodka that he poured in the glass, so I asked him to add some cranberry juice. He did that for me, and then I asked for a lemon. Guess what? No lemons either! Tapps is connected to another bar(PBR), and he said that PBR had lemons, but he acted like it was such an inconvenience to run next door to grab them. I understand things happen and I am usually a very understanding customer. In this case though, it was terrible management and terrible service. I will probably never be back, which is pretty unfortunate because the place has potential.

The first thing that will hit you is the smell. A combination of stale beer, shots and whatever the person who had too much stale beer and shots ate. There was no person to greet you when you walk in. Sat ourselves at booth that was stickier than must duct tape I’ve used. Never did see anyone that was identifiable as an employee so we left. Did see one employee on way to front door and wasn’t even acknowledged. Epic Fail!

No more 25 cent burgers or beer on Thursday night completely empty table sections and got 4 beers on a 4 top and finished in ten minutes no more service for twenty minutes so we left. Needs to train the wait staff better

I must say the food, drinks and the prices for Wednesday and Thursday specials are great. But the service is horrible! I was the first table to be seated and the last to be served. I sat for 15 minutes and had to even say something to get service and this is the second time this happened. After being served the waitress failed to tell us the beer we ordered was the only one not on special. Bottom line this is the last time i eat here.

Slow service and the food wasn’t even worth the wait. I would have complained but I was so hungry I didn’t want to risk another 45 minutes to get my food. We unfortunately went on a night when they had .25¢ drafts and .25¢ burgers. I found it odd that the waitstaff was struggling to keep up with serving beer that was already pre poured for them and burgers that were bare(customers had to put their own fixin’s). Such a simple menu and the staff struggled to keep up…

This place cared for my parties every need. Management valued my business, and the VIP Party Planner(Megan Melani) brought great joy, and professionalism to Tapps

I went here last night with a group of friends for their Wednesday night special. The special is awesome– $ 1 draft beers and $ 1 flatbread pizzas. They have a decent selection of beers on draft too. The way the special works is from 6 – 7 draft beers are $ 1, 7 – 8 they are $ 2, and 8 – 9 they are $ 3. The beers were good and you can’t beat the price! The flatbread pizzas were good, served on tortillas not flatbread, but they were perfect for snacking while drinking and you can get some great topping combinations. At about 8:00 live music started which was awesome! I’d definitely go back again for another awesome Wednesday night!

Went to Tapps for their Thursday night special: 25 cent beer and 25 cent burgers. No wait to get in, but no tables/booths available when we got there. We sat at the bar, and put in our beer(and burger) order(tonight it was Rolling Rock that was the beer special) and waited for a booth to open up. Place was crowded and loud. Once we got seated with our 5 ounces of rolling Rock in a 7 ounce Dixie cup of beer(we ordered several) and waited for our burgers to arrive. While the burger itself was a quarter, everything else cost 50 cent; each. So my quarter burger ended up about $ 2.75 after I put lettuce/tomato/cheese/onion/mustard on it. It came out hot and fresh. I was presentably surprised by the overall quality of the food. We ordered fries and another round of beer. For the four of us, it was less than $ 20.00 to have a light dinner. The place was very crowded and loud, as the main PBR part of the complex was not open. We watched other table build pyramid walls of empties while we ate and talked. Enjoyable evening. Decent food. Great early Happy hour special. Recommended.

SLOWWWWWW service… be prepared to wait a half hour or more for your food. A group of us(4) went on Saturday night… there were only about 3 other tables in the place and it still took over 45 minutes for our food to come out. When we finally got our food, my husband’s and my burger were super dry. Our waitress was ok and the wings were good, though.

Great beer selection. We ate dinner on the tapps side on a Friday evening and it was pretty empty. We ordered pretzels and sausage appetizer and the pretzels were really good. Sadly, they were out of the entrée that I wanted, but I had the smokehouse chicken and my wife had the country fried chicken. Both were pretty decent but the broccoli was not cooked with TLC. Overall an ok place. Our server was great too!

I went her for a birthday party this weekend as it was nice. I loved the band and the drinks were inexpensive. The wait staff was nice and the food was too expensive. I can’t comment on the food because I didn’t order, but it took over an hour to get to the table. This was crazy! I can say that the drinks were good and the bartender and waitresses were very accomondating to our party of 10. I really liked that we gained VIP access to the club next door that has more line dancing and bullriding.

Food was great beer was great staff was great. Time to get the marketing up to par and this place will flourish. I highly recommend the Tapps bar for a place to meet greet and eat. As for the food I got tacos and beer a great combo and an ever changing tap list make this place unique and great. P. S. Kelly my server was AMAZING!!!

Wow, really surprised at how under reviewed this place is. Really good food. ONion rings were delicious, golden and crispy. BBQ sandwich is one of the best we’d ever tasted!

Very disappointed with Tapps. It was pretty dead for a Saturday dinner time(7pm) — (that should be a clue!). The appetizers(jalapeño popper shrimp and cheese fries) were good, however the portion size for the cheese fries was small when compared to most other restaurants. Both of my first two entrée choices were not available. Waitress said they were«out» of them, as well as out of mushrooms. Not a sign of a good business when you are not ready for the beginning of the Saturday dinner crowd. I’m sure the management had all Saturday morning to send someone to buy some mushrooms; but chose not to. Waitress seemed untrained and was clueless when two of the entrees arrived with side dishes all mixed up. When my first pint of beer was empty, I scanned the almost empty dining area for our waitress so I could spend more money in their establishment. But I guess it was more important to Tapps that their wait staff have time to hang out at the end of the bar chatting with fellow employees. As our waitress chatted for 10 minutes at the bar, she never once looked over to her table to see my empty glass.(Waiting 101 teaches you that pushing drinks will raise the check total and therefore raise your possible tip, another sign that management doesn’t train staff). When busing the table, she asked customers to hand her plates(customers usually aren’t crazy about busing their own dishes). The sirloin steak I ended up getting was cooked correctly, but was nothing exciting. The onion rings tasted like fryer oil that had not been changed in awhile. There was a decent selection of beer on tap and in bottles, but with beer being the restaurant’s supposed specialty, I wished they had chilled their kegs a little more. All the beer I received was not cold enough. There are plenty of other restaurant choices in the immediate area and down the road at the Peninsula Town Center. You’d be wise to take your money to ANY of these other choices then to spend it at Tapps.
