Wow — what a let down. I love Hampton Beach and typically love all of the cheesy outdated motels. Unfortunately, this one did not measure up. Instead of having any sort of nostalgic charm, the room was just dirty and depressing. The bedsheets were really old and literally had multiple stains on them. The carpet had a bunch of stains, too. Also, there was a fly in the bathroom and something that I can only hope was a gnat crawling on the pillow. The lighting consisted of one fluorescent tube light — it made the place look like an office or an interrogation room. To be honest, the only way I was able to stay here was because I’m a young guy, I was only staying for one night and I knew I was going to be drunk(in other words, it beat sleeping in my car). I can’t imagine actually bringing a family or kids here. The only reason I’m giving it two stars is because this place is across the street from Little Jacks. I don’t like bashing places on Unilocal, but at the same time, I feel like I should warn people that love Hampton Beach and are thinking about staying here. Not sure why Unilocal filtered this — it’s an honest review.

Please do not make the same mistake we did and think that saving around $ 20 would make staying here worth it. There are so many great little motels along the beach, this one is gross! To start the owner is rude and frighteningly disorganized. I made my reservation about a month in advance since we had tickets to see a show at the Casino Ballroom. The same woman I made the reservation with called me THURSDAY afternoon(our reserv. was for FRIDAY night) to tell me that she can’t confirm my reservation because they do not book their rooms for one night only. I tried to explain that I made this reservation weeks ago and she said, «There are too many pieces of paper here and it is very confusing.»(I couldn’t make this up). Finally she says, «OK fine — but only this time, we won’t do this again!»(Please — like I had to be told that I will never stay here again!) So we arrive and a different woman shows us to our room only after providing the disclaimer that there is only one VERY small room left and its in the back, are you sure you still want it?(WHAT??!) I said great, let’s just see it, what else can we do? It is the smallest room I’ve ever seen. Two people can not walk between the bed and the TV at the same time. With a florescent overhead light and only a stand-up plastic shower… just awful. If there was any other open room in Hampton that night we would have left. Since we arrived at 5pm and the show started at 8pm we did not have much choice. All in all — DONOTSTAYHERE!
