Overall, I would say the quality and service of this place was a very solid three stars. Our server was friendly and my burger was pretty good. The view was also nice but not spectacular. My main reason for dropping this place down to two stars was the price. My burger(w. cheese, avocado, bbq sauce, & fries) was $ 20 before tax/tip. I would recommend going to one of the many food trucks/stands to anyone passing through Hana looking for a bite to eat over this place.

Stopped for lunch during our adventure of the ‘drive to Hana’. Everything about the day was fantastic, except the Hana Ranch Restaurant. The staff was friendly & pleasant, the food was poor. I would not suggest stopping to eat here to anyone, unless you are looking for a Denny’s quality experience(not Denny’s price though). Expensive and minimal quality.:-(

Some of the best food and service I have had was here. Fresh ingredients and excellent service and atmosphere makes this place perfect. I love it here.

The setting is beautiful, but the food and service were just ok. The appetizers were unmemorable and the salad didn’t have enough dressing on. I had to ask for more, but it took a while for the server to come back to the table. We had a table of four and nobody was fully impressed.

Well, the evening choices in Hana are slim. The hotel is $$$$. The Ranch is quaint and had some unkempt locals with barefeet, pants hanging below the waistline, dirty dreadlocks(you get the picture) and we originally were not going to stay. But we sat away from the aforementioned group and actually had a good meal. Our service was fast & friendly and even a bit apologetic when our deserts were delayed. The food was fresh and well prepared. This would normally be a 3-star review, but given the LIMITED choices at 7:00 in the evening in Hana, we enjoyed our meal.

There were 4 of us and we all liked our dinner. Ribs, flank steak, fish and chicken sandwich. Service was fine and the«Road to Hana» drink was yummy!

Came here for dinner because we’re staying in Hana. I definitely recommend siting outside on the patio. Even after the sun sets its so nice being outside and you can hear the ocean. It rained a few times and we still stayed dry! My dad got the Mahi Mahi, which if you like Mahi, was delicious. My mom got the Ahi Tuna Tempura, which was also delicious. I got the baby back ribs and my sister got the beef skewers which were mediocre. The macadamia nut pie was absolutely delicious! I got a pineapple mojito and my sister got the mango margarita. They were good but not very strong for $ 10+. If you’re a sports fan, they have a tv at the bar which is nice since there aren’t many TVs in Hana.

We took the perilous«Road to Hana» drive and stopped here to grab lunch. It is located in the Hana village and is the only restaurant in the area. When we walked in, there was an option for buffet but we decided to sit outside and order from the ala carte menu. The food was okay. Nothing really stood out. I think our group was really just hungry that we could not wait or did not bother to look for another location elsewhere. The prices here are a little expensive. Maybe because they know that as tourist, we’ll pay for anything(at some point it was true). I ordered a loco moco and my boyfriend had the kalua pork sliders. Both meals were filling and the flavors were good. Honestly, not worth the price. If only I knew that the Chow’s and Braddah Hutts were just right around the corner, I would take food trucks over sit down places any day!

This review is based solely on my lone visit and the burgers that I ordered. They were big. They were juicy. They were delicious. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a really good cheese burger. I had them add sautéed mushrooms and onions, which I recommend. Another reason I’m rating them so high is that burgers are a lunch menu item, and they stop serving them at 4PM. We showed up at 5PM and they were still accommodating and got us our burgers. The staff was polite and prompt. Next time I’m in Maui, I’ll stop here again.

These guys accommodated my request for a burger at dinner even though it isn’t on the dinner menu. I thought that was cool. It was a pretty damn good burger too. In general, the service was attentive and thorough. The food was good. The negative reviews below seem unwarranted.

I don’t know what people expect when they stop in Hana. It’s a small town with very few options. We were camping at wa’ainalapala state park so it was a welcome relief to have a nice dinner with a beautiful view of the gorgeous Hana beach with delicious cocktails. We only ordered the spicy bbq wings which were really good and the pork quesadilla which was fine. And yes it’s expensive but they have the ability to be cause it’s the only place available!

Only place open late enough for us to eat after doing the road to Hana and on through Haleakala State Park. We arrived a little over an hour before closing time, so that might have explained the really slow service. I wouldn’t normally mind, but given the steep prices, u believe that the their is an expectation of attentive staff. The food was ok, nothing great. They have a full bar, but I only had beer so I can’t speak for the cocktails.

I believe they are understaffed… the hostess seemed busy, our waitress was sweet(but unavailable after ordering), the lady who delivered our food was sweet, and the food was okay. I got the bbq chicken sandwich(Thai marinated chicken on a baguette served with McDonald’s-esque fries). Time from ordering to food on the table was ~40 minutes. My husband got lemonade that he said was just sweet enough. Prices ran about $ 18 for an entrée. The view we had at our table was gorgeous!!! Like I said earlier, the food is okay… I ate all of it because I was so hungry after playing at Hamoa Beach. It tasted like peppered chicken on a baguette! No surprise there, I guess… maybe I’m not sure what Thai marinated means? We never saw our waitress again — which was confusing for when we wanted to pay our check. We ended up walking to the front to pay. Also, I was hoping for a water refill, but no one came around to fill it up again. I wouldn’t eat here again, and would have eaten at a local’s food shop or trailer if one was open(this was a Sunday).

There is a reason this place has only two stars. The service was great … I typically am only concerned with food(I’ll wait forever if the food is amazing), and, unfortunately, this place pretty much sucked. The bad: — try to find another place, earlier, to eat … Careful, places close early –Poke lacked flavor and was paired with something similar to a fern(I think a tree branch would taste the same) –short ribs a bit too charred, came with under seasoned(a bit of salt and pepper wouldn’t hurt) — side of rice was way over cooked and way too seasoned — got a house salad … Disgusting romaine lettuce, odd assortment of raw red onions and lettuce, barely any papaya … Pretty gross salad that I would make better at home … Could have been SO much better with decent assortment of greens, more fruit(maybe add mango?), and a better salad dressing base The good: — added mahi mahi to the salad … Only decent thing to eat –good view –decent service

Great food and friendly service. Seriously, all that chatter about them being rude and slow was a lie. They did it right. Go there as it is the only restaurant other than that resort I don’t want to go to. The food isn’t cheap, but after making that drive, of course it costs a lot to get a bunch of supplies trucked in, so pay up tourist!

Terrible food and slow service! Pack some food for a picnic if you are venturing on the road to Hana. The dining options are so limited here. We were hoping to try Bruddah Hutt’s, but they were closed. So we were forced to come here instead. The food is terribly overpriced and barely edible. No, ma’am.

Hubby and I were staying at Travaasa Hana and this restaurant was a short walk off property from our sea ranch cottage… less than 10 minutes. Pretty casual attire and we got seated quickly indoors since it was raining outside. We couldn’t decide between the garlic or furikake fries so they did a combo for us which was pretty good. I also ordered the«Li Hing muijito» which was really delicious… so I ordered 2! Hubby had the kalbi which came with a good portion and was pretty tasty in flavor. I ordered the wasabi rare ahi tempura which was ok. The middle wasn’t as rare as I would’ve like it and the batter was a little over cooked but the flavor was still pretty good. The reason I ordered it was because I wanted the Kim Chee fried rice but it didn’t taste like it had Kim Chee in it at all. Bill came out to about $ 120 which we felt was pretty overpriced for what we ordered which and the food was not amazing which is why I am giving only 3 stars.

We did not come here for dining. When we see the sign outside that they serve shave ice, then we made a stop. I like the way that they have a separate portion in the restaurant(outside too!) just for shave ice. They sell in various flavors. They have an option with ice cream on top. We are here for shave ice so we settle for plain ones. I can’t compare their pricing until we saw shave ice cart in Lahaina’s Village Center. Their price for small cup is very descent. Probably it will be cheaper if we tried some carts that we passed by in Hana town. Very productive server. The restaurant is located in a commercial center and a free dining huts for all establishments are closeby. Quiet and peaceful place. A good rest stop on our way to Seven Sacred pools. On our next Maui visit, its a must to dine in and have additional review of the place.
