Excellent service & very clean! I had the steamed dumplings & meatball phở both were extremely fresh & tasty! They play pretty good music too. Will definitely come back!

Restaurant is super clean and the food is very fresh and delicious. So far this is the best phở restaurant I’ve been to in San Antonio. Highly recommended!

My husband and I really liked this place. We came in on a rainy night near closing time, yet the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was really clean and the and the atmosphere was nice. We had the chicken phở, and it hit the spot. It had good flavor, and the portions were perfect. I can’t wait to try other dishes from here, I’ll definitely be back!

With a very limited menu, rather premium pricing, and flavors that leave a lot to be desired, Phở An needs to raise their game in a relatively tough Vietnamese market. I ordered the grilled pork with rice instead of the vermicelli. The BBQ pork was cut into thin French fry looking strips and were virtually tasteless. The dish required all the accompanying fish sauce and some squirts of the sriracha . My wife got their grilled tilapia and if was nicely blackened and tasted just ok. The seasoning, what existed of it, was very mild. With that she received white rice, long grain, and didn’t care for it at all. To be fair, my wife is Japanese and is a rice snob. The restaurant is quite big and not very busy. We arrived during peak dinner hours and the place was nearly empty.

Very fresh and delicious. The broth is my favorite part. I couldn’t find a menu online but I am more than glad I took a chance. They don’t have a very extensive menu but what they do have is delicious so it doesn’t really matter to me. As long as I get some delicious phở. I think it’s pretty amazing that they have bahn mi. That’s kind of hard to find around here. I will most likely try that next. I did not eat inside, I got my order to go but from what I could see it was a very clean and impressive place. Very new from what I could see.

Fresh bun bowls, flavorful phở. Family friendly. While the menu is limited, it has the basics, and they’re delicious.

Good, fresh Vietnamese food. Incredibly poor taste in background music though, hip-hop just doesn’t fit in well in a Vietnamese restaraunt.

This place was alright. The phở needed a little more flavor. The phở is around $ 9. Probably won’t go back. I liked that the staff are friendly and the place is very clean.

The menu is quite limited, not much to choose from. Hopefully they’ll expand it once they get more business. I ordered the bun thit nuong w/cha gio(grilled pork and vermicelli noodles) it quite disappointing. The grilled pork was kind of dry and the egg roll was sub-par. The fish sauce was a joke, had no depth of flavor in it. Good fish sauce is suppose to have complex flavors of spice, lime, garlic, sugar, and fish sauce. I might be coming off as critical but as a fellow Vietnamese-American, I have a set of standards to go by.

I was really suprised when we ate there yesterday for dinner. The menu is small but everything is done right. I have been to a few other Vietnamese places in town and a majority of them lack the boldness that should be in Vietnamese cuisine. Phở An does a really good job with their entrees as well as their bubble tea. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is from a city with a large Vietnamese population such as Houston because the flavor profile they deliver is what we are used to eating. I’m thankful we found this little gem and we are all happy we don’t have to drive to the other side of town for good Vietnamese food.

I had the chicken phở. I overload on limes and the server was so generous to bring me all the limes that I waned at no extra charge. Most phở places charge extra for limes. The summer rolls were delicious also! Great food, great service! Will be back!

The phở is absolutely awesome! The broth is very well made, perfect flavors are drawn together with a very thin layer of fat skimming the top. They are very generous with the meat in the phone as well, so that was a pleasant surprise. Service was outstanding and cleanliness is top notch! Considering it’s leas than a mile from home I think we found our new phở joint!

Phở An’s Phở will soon be famous, and not just in Helotes. The Phở portion is VERY generous(Do Asians do this because they think we have to eat this much soup?) The ingredients are fresh and well selected, e.g., the right KIND of basil, super crisp sprouts, etc. Like others have said, this may be the cleanest restaurant in the universe. It seemed Photoshopped. Phở is the star at Phở An. I’ve tried some of the other offerings, and want to try them all; everything I’ve had was first class in flavor and presentation, but the Phở is what means I’ll be going back fo mo phở fo sho(I’m here all week.) It would be like Seinfeld’s «Soup Nazi,» but the staff and waiters are anything but Nazis The service is crazy good; our waiter was eager to answer questions about VN food and we even learned a few things about VN culture. Not to mention that he was a sort of phở-counselor; he took the season, weather, and my(obviously Viking) heritage into account before recommending a custom tailored bowl that was just perfect. Seriously though, get the Phở! And encourage your companions to get it as well, else they finish up their shrimp in ten minutes, and are still staring at you an hour or so later as you are licking out your Phở bowl/bucket. It’s like, sure, German restaurants may have great hamburgers, but you should get the Jagerschnitzel with spatzel; that’s why you are there. My family just got me some Phở-to-go. It comes with the stock in one container, and everything else in another. Just mix it in whatever you have that’s big enough, and enjoy.(I’m such a fan, I actually have a dedicated Phở bowl) Warning: If you get phở-to-go, there is a little spice cup full of ground peppers and oil. I dump it all in, but only because I think good Phở should make you sweat out of your scalp. For sensitive palates. this level of heat may mask some of the subtleties, but if you are an experienced fire-eater like me, it is the perfect quantity to complement the meal and add the possibility of spontaneous combustion to your post-repast condition. Sorry for the long review. I would have written a shorter one, but I didn’t have enough time. I’ve been slurping down my phở-to-go while writing this review and now I’ve reached the happy place right between satisfaction and misery with three cups of broth left. I think I’ll confirm that my wife knows where the fire extinguisher is, and curl up for a nap.

Love this place, reminds me of mom’s home cooking. The food and veggies all taste fresh. The first place I’ve gone too in San Antonio to actually have traditional broken rice for their rice plate. The phở and bun bo hue broth definitely deserve honorable mention compared to other local viet places. And lets not forget how clean this place is… like freaky clean! Long story short: Tastes almost like home

100% will be coming back. The food is very fresh, menu is small but I like it better like that, instead of having 20 + items that you can choose from, you have a good Small menu that covers a lot of your taste buds. FRESHNESS is the #1 thing I always look for and this place delivered.

We were so excited to have a new place near by. First trip we sat 30 minutes without being acknowledged and decided to walk out. Decided to give it a shot and try them once more. Second visit we looked over the menu to find a extremely limited menu. Then when it came time to order they tell us they only have one type of Phở available. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Very limited menu. There’s only maybe 5 main meals? I got number 13 and it was alright. Nothing too too special about it. Also my seat had a huge hole in it. The music they were playing was Disney princess song tracks… Not bad just not something I would think a place like this would play. Probably won’t come back because the lack of taste. The only reason I gave it two stars was because compare to Mekong this place is SUPERCLEAN! I was so shocked how clean this place was. How???

Went the first day they opened and, despite being relatively packed, the service was good and the food came out quickly. We started with the chicken wings. Add some sirachi if you get these – makes them amazing! Their Thai teas were very sweet but nice. Had the phở and a vermicelli bowl. The broth was not as favorable as Phở Ha Long but was still good. The bowl had crispy and fresh veggies and was nicely flavored. Will go back again soon!
