Let’s face it: pizza has universal appeal. This is no secret. As a result, there are no shortage of pizzerias, especially in the town of Hickory, and I’ve found that most of them offer a product that is indistinguishable from one offered anywhere else. So, imagine my surprise when my wife and I tried the Geppeto’s restaurant on Springs Road (an add was left on our doorstep) and discovered a true diamond in the rough. Our server, Tab, was extremely friendly and attentive (our drinks never ran dry, and our buffet plates were always ready for the next trip). The dining area was immaculately clean, and even came equipped with several flatscreen televisions on which to watch the Carolina Panthers destroy their competition. But the most important factor (as in any eatery) is the food… and let me say that it is DEFINITELY the shining star of this location. Hot, fresh, and with a mouthwatering taste that someone must have sold their soul to develop. My personal favorite, if I may make a recommendation, is the dessert pizza… it makes the «pizzert» found at Pizza Inn taste like cardboard by comparison. We will most assuredly be returning! Do yourself a favor: get here. Now. Put your phone down, fire up the car, and go. Do it.

I would have given it a 2 or may be 3 if I had gone only by what was offered on the buffet because the pizzas were cold and looked neglected. But when asked, the server informed that we could order any pizza from their menu. Yes, any. Even the speciality pizza for no extra charge. We ordered one (do not remember the name now) and it was SO good! The dessert Items are decent too and my sweet-​tooth had a good time.
Only suggestion– they should mention to the guests about the’made to order’ option that they have while seating them, rather than waiting for them to ask.

I’ll admit, when Geppeto’s got suggested as a site for a family get together in Hickory, NC, I cringed. With plenty of experience eating at subpar pizza buffets, I figured this would be more of the same. And in all truth, it wasn’t the greatest pizza I’ve ever eaten, not even close. But it had a certain small town charm that I enjoyed, plus one of the most innovative pizzas of our time.
Geppeto’s was very full for the lunch rush when we walked, and I immediately noted that they had a few beers on tap, to include a local Olde Hickory brew. I sampled an assortment of pizzas, noting that the garlic chicken white pizza was above average, although the classic red sauce pepperoni or sausage pizzas were middling at best. Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted it. A Frankenstein pizza combining multiple carbs into one delicious wedge of tastiness. None other than the spaghetti and meat sauce pizza. Yes, a classic pizza with Geppeto’s classic spaghetti and meat sauce piled on, topped with cheese, which led to a taste sensation I can’t begin to describe. Sure I felt like a husky boy eating this carb bomb, but it was worth the price of admission.

I travel all over and most pizzas I get are tasteless and not worth ever getting again. The pizza I received from Geppeto’s was a nice surprise. The ingredients tasted fresh, the sauce had a nice flavor and the crust (hand tossed) was cooked perfectly. Not to mention it arrived quickly and hot! (Another part many places fall short on) Melody who answered the phone and delivered the pizza was pleasant in person and on the phone. Joe (I believe that was his name), the manager who made the pizza was the exact same. I felt I had to call and compliment them, too many bad pies out there and this is not one of them. If you’re ever in Hickory, NC, I suggest ordering from here! $ 17 for a medium pie with 3 toppings and a 2 liter of soda, well worth it!

Ok place to go for pizza buffet. The selections are pretty varied, plus the standard salad bar. On occasion, they can let the buffet get pretty bare of pies, and then it becomes 30 people trying to get to a pie at the same time. Service is usually excellent and prices are average for the buffet.

This is a solid pizza place. The food is good, and the people are friendly. They do a pizza buffet for eat-​ins, and their service is very friendly although the wait can be a little on the longer side if you’re doing a carry-​out.
I don’t care for their sandwiches, however. I got a chicken sub, which tasted dry, and I also tasted their chicken parm which I didn’t like either. If you eat here, go for the pizza!

Fast delivery and good selection

Picked up a pizza and cheese sticks to go. The crust was good, a little thicker (which suits me). The sauce and toppings were all decent. Price was on par with most other pizza places. The cheese sticks were pretty good, slightly better than the norm. I would go back, but was not blown away.
