Chose Outback for dinner with my family over Christmas holidays, thinking this would be a good option for children, adults, and seniors. Steaks were tough, salmon was overdone, and the blooming onion tasted as if the oil had not been changed in hours. Very disappointing, especially for the entrée prices.

I don’t usually do a review after the first time visiting a particular restaurant but I am pretty sure it will be my only visit, not because it was bad only because I am traveling through. My two concerns here are #1 though technically it is true, their«we have over 70 lunch combos starting at $ 6.99» should have more than one option at the $ 6.99 price. And if that one option is unlimited soup and salad you should have more than one option of soup. #2 the restaurant ran out of clean silverware and we ate with plastic ware which should never be an option outside of fast food. As for the service, the hostess was very nice and our waitress Alexis was very accommodating and couldn’t have been better.

I’ve been here a number of times. Each time the food is good and the service is better than good. However, I’m writing this review based solely off my last visit. The service was awesome! Our waitress was very accommodating, engaging, and friendly. I haven’t had service like that in a long time. I just wish I could remember her name to give her a shout out. In addition, the steak we had was phenomenal. The steak is usually good, but last night’s steak was exceptional. I shared two types of steak with another person that was there with me in our party of 6, but everyone agreed their steak was very tender and full of flavor. I had the new flat iron steak. It had a different taste with the rosemary and thyme, but was still really good. I also had the portobello mushroom sirloin steak. It, too, was so tender and full of so much flavor. I tend to be more critical of steak I eat at different places, but on this night, I had zero complaints. Couple the service with the quality of food, and it would be hard to beat in my book with some of the best places I have eaten. Definitely give it a try if you are looking for steak. I only give it a 4-star because I feel that is the average of all the times I have eaten here. However, it was definitely in the 5-star range on this night!

Great steak if you like eating leather boot! Why does the server even ask how would you like that cooked if the kitchen cooks everything well done?

Here’s the deal. Every time we go to Outback, we order the 9 oz Sirloin. From experience, we have decided this is their best cut… prior experiences with a Filet Mignon that was thinner-cut than their Sirloin, have lead us to this determination. Also every time, we order medium-rare cook. And, unfortunately, every time, it comes out well-done, and then we send it back, and then they cook it again, and then it comes out much better, and in fact, pretty tasty(except that they overload it with seasoning, the second go, and we have to cut-off the outside edges.) If you appreciate a fresh veggie side dish, Outback does not disappoint. Every time it does come out hot and perfectly cooked.(How they do this amazes me, but keep up the good work!) Our meals always take twice as long to dine and eat, since we have to basically order twice, and so well, we just don’t go so often. But this time, they caught us with mail coupon offer for $ 8.00 off two dinner entrée’s, so we tried this location for our first time. We would go back, but probably not again for some time. It’s actually just as easy to cook a great steak at home, on our grill, and it cost us half as much, for filet. Next time we just want someone else to do it, and we have the time to order twice, we will be back.

Being Celiac, I always look for restaurants that have a dedicated menu and an understand of how to prevent cross-contamination. Outback is one of those restaurants and so I always look forward to a meal I don’t have to worry about and can enjoy. Dinner started out okay. I’m glad I was paying attention to what I was putting in my mouth because 3 bites into my salad, I found crispy noodles mixed in. I looked through it to see if it was a fluke and it wasnt, they were all through it. I called the server and immediately, they went into action. The manager took care of it and was more than apologetic. He understood that it was more than just an oops, it was a major crisis averted. He took care of us the remainder of the meal and even comped the meal. He said that he addressed the seriousness of the situation with the kitchen staff and our server and from what I was after the incident, I believe it. Thank you Mike. You handled my situation perfectly. Could have asked for better. We will be back!

Ate here a few nights ago with my family, family of 4. 2 adults and 2 children. We got there at around 5 so we wouldn’t have to wait to long and get dinner out of the way. Our servers name was Drew and he done an fantastic job keeping drinks filled and checking in with us. We all ate steak and it was all cooked perfect and seasoned great. At the end of meal the server thanked us and our children. Shook our boys hands and made them feel speacil, and thanking them for there manners. All around food and environment was great. Et here alot and I’m sure many more times in the future.

Ok, #1 I think it horrible to give anyone or anything a 1 star but this place deserved it! Figured I would take my gf out to eat one night and it was by far the worst steak I have ever eaten in my life, it was tough, overdone and could barely chew it. I will never ever eat here again. Now I do understand that sometimes people have morons working in the back and bad things happen from time to time and I understand that but this experience was so bad I had to comment on it. Now for the ok part: The Mgr. was nice to us, offered to give us another plate(which we refused) and we DIDNOT have to pay the bill. I guess this was good damage control. The establishment itself seemed clean, somewhat quiet, servers seemed ok… Needless to say we ended up going elsewhere. /shrug maybe we just had a bad experience but even a bad experience should not account for a steak being prepared this way and offering it as food…

Two dining March 29, 20157:25pm Ordered medium steak, got way too overdone and very tough. Almost beyond eating. Double $ 12.00 burger way overpriced. Can get a much tastier one for half that price at Crossroads Grille, or Al’s. Asked for medium… cooked to death ! Cooks seem to know only one way. Way over cooked. Salad came with tiny bit of dressing. Should have been on the side. Atmosphere=fine, but workers seemed stressed. Waitress= friendly, personable. Restaurant= clean My wife and I ate there the first day Outback opened. We nibbled on the Bloomin Onion for 30 minutes and when our steaks finally came, they were literally in a pool of blood. That’s why we hadn’t been back. If we hadn’t had a gift card for Outback, we wouldn’t have gone this time. I think it’s a pretty sure bet we won’t be going back. The parking lot was packed. Either we just had two bad experiences, or there are a lot of people with non-working taste buds. Quoth the Raven… NEVERMORE !

I do not get out to eat much and have heard wonderful things about Outback over the years so was very excited when my mother took me for my birthday. First off we are both hard of hearing and asked the hostess if we could be seated away from speakers playing music so we can hear each other over the music better and the hostess appeared bothered by our request. We arrived before the rush on a Saturday. So many seats were open. She ordered the sirloin and I had the ribeye. Both were not cooked properly(over cooked), seasoned decently though. My ribeye was very thin cut also. When my mother made the waiter aware he appeared disintered. The manager just happened to be walking around and my mother caught her attention and told her about the steaks. The manager was very interested and fixed things right away. For the price I was not pleased at all. I wish we just went and got Mexican food instead.

Remodeling house; no kitchen. Needed a steak. First time got a great prime rib finished on the grill. Super tasty rub. Great baked potato and grilled asparagus. Thought the food was good, went back two more times. Rib eye, garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Great service. Order on line and pick up at door. Would return. Parking lot is always full. Expect a wait, but the food is good, but a little pricey.

My go to place for a steak dinner! Husband got steak topped with crab tonight and it was amazing. I got the three course meal. Loaded baked potatoes are perfection. Carrot cake is so moist. Also sign up for email and they send coupons :) both my kids ate free tonight.

This evening I ate at this Outback steakhouse because the local Longhorn was full to capacity. I ate in the bar and the service was reasonably good. My Wedge Salad was A bit under dressed but good nonetheless. The steak I ordered(14oz Ribeye) however was the toughest steak I have ever eaten in my life. Given the fact that I spent seven years in the military that is saying a lot! The steak was seasoned well and cooked properly but the cut of meat was extremely poor leaving me with the impression that the buyers for Outback are procuring poor quality meat. I find that awfully surprising for a restaurant that should pride itself on it’s steak. Now that I think about it, it’s no surprise that the local Longhorn was overcrowded!

Outback Steakhouse in Hickory has the same standard levels as any other Outback that I’ve been to. The food is always good, but I find it to be over priced. You pay a lot for the atmosphere in a place like Outback. This particular location is a nightmare to get into Friday-Sunday. The line always goes outside the door, and the wait can be upwards of 2 hours. It has some of the longest wait times in the city. If you’re willing to deal with the wait, you most likely will not be disappointed. Finding a parking space can be a right nightmare. We have had to circle the parking lot for upwards of 20 minutes waiting for someone to leave and free up a space. The wait staff is very accommodating at Outback. They make sure you are satisfied with your meal, and go above and beyond by packing up left overs for you. They’re always very friendly, and are trained well. Will you get the best steak in Hickory here? No. Will you get a decent one? Yes.

Honestly the food was pretty good and the service from our particular waitress was great. However the«bros» acting like tools at the table behind us were not awesome. Normally I wouldn’t have that cause me to downgrade the restaurant except for the four waitresses hanging out at the table, flirting and allowing them to screw around like ten year old special kids. Sort of ruined all the good there.

The Grilled Salmon was perfect. Just the way I like it. They always have a consistent style you can count on what ever city you are in. I have ate at many Outback’s and never had a bad meal. The Margarita’s are not bad either. Great service here.

Can you say overrated? If you want to wait in a long line for a mediocre meal that’s not worth the price then this is your place. I’ve eaten here several times(don’t know why), and it’s always the same. If I want steak then Kobe’s is much much better.
