Outside is deceiving as this place on the inside is very relaxing. Service is great as every one here is polite. I am picky and they were accommodating to let me design my rolls. Food was great, they even have sweet tea. Will be here again before I leave.

Went there at 9PM last Sunday. CLOSED. Despite both the Internet and the hours posted in the window showed they were open until 10P on Sunday. Being on vacation and unfamiliar with the area, it ruined my evening since there wasn’t hardly anything else open.

Great little sushi place on the island. Both my friend’s hibachi steak was good and the sushi was great. I had an inventive roll with shrimp and jalapeños. I will surely be back.

Excellent food. Thought we would try it based on the reviews from Unilocal. We were not disappointed. We had the sushi. The spicy tuna roll, the Alaska roll and one of the chefs specials. All were fresh and delicious. And the bonus was definitely the yummy miso soup and crab appetizer that came free with our meal. And the price was great. Lots of food and 2 ice teas for about $ 34. Definitely a bargain compared to some of the other places we’ve eaten. So glad I checked Unilocal as this place is in sort of a strip mall. Would not find it unless you were looking for it. Highly recommend!

Best meal I had while visiting Hilton Head! Our group was truly amazed by this restaurant. The service was amazing and our server was extremely friendly and attentive. The sushi was fresh and delicious! They had a great selection of menu items and everyone was happy with their meal. We also had no idea that they give complimentary miso soup, a crab appetizer AND fried Oreos for dessert! I look forward to visiting Hilton Head & stopping at Fancy Q again! I highly suggest this place for anyone looking for an affordable, fresh meal with lots of perks!

This was my first experience eating reals sushi, but I definitely think this was a good place to start. The atmosphere was… Interesting, but similar to that of any Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. We were given a soup appetizer with mushrooms in it that was good. I ordered a roll with cooked salmon and avacado that was delicious. The friend I was with ordered two rolls with raw tuna. I had never tried raw sushi until this day but I absolutely loved it. I believe the rolls he ordered were dragon rolls and mine was the Florida roll. Top notch. Also, I had a glass of house merlot that was reasonably priced and he had a beer. There was a full bar to choose from as well. Finally, we were given deep fried Oreos for dessert. If you’re craving sushi on the island, I would recommend fancy Q!

— Great service. — Complimentary crab tempura: so crispy & smothered in two sauces(eel & mayo?). Super yummy. — Miso soup: good, not super salty, added some kind of rice or something so it was more hearty than most miso’s. — Ginger salad: all iceberg. Dressing was typical. — Sashimi Deluxe: tuna, white tuna(yummm, melted in my mouth), salmon, octopus, and one other seared fish. 19 decent size pieces for $ 21! Fish was all pretty fresh & delicious.

Friends had told us that Fancy Q was a hidden gem for sushi on Hilton Head. They were right. The setting is very plain. The food is not. Everything was prepared well. The service was very good. Prices were very reasonable for fresh sushi. We will return to Fancy Q.

Quick trip to the island to visit dear friends — what a find! Loved the Maggie and the Highway 17. Plus fried Oreos were a nice finish!

2nd time we ate here. So very good. From start to finish. They bring you goodies right away while you look over the menu. Everything we ordered was well done and food came out fast! I am a sushi connoisseur and I promise their fish is very fresh. Tempura Oreos at the end… Mmmm

Go here all the time. You get a delicious free crab tempura app, free miso soup, and free tempura oreo for dessert. Sushi is great, especially for the price! All of the staff are friendly and good at what they do… minus one woman server, who we try to avoid at all costs… believe me, don’t judge the place by her — you’ll know if you get her, she’ll forget all kinds of stuff and seems flustered every time.

This may be the best sushi in Hilton Head Island, SC, but it’s definitely not the best I’ve tasted. I give two stars for the friendliness of the staff, and generous servings. The staff greeted us as we went in. They also gave us a complimentary appetizer. The chicken hibachi was pretty generic. And the sushi looked mushy, something like quality of one you get at a mall food court. You are getting what you are paying for or less. Our bill for two people was $ 30 plus tax and tip. We saw their advertisement in a hotel magazine, and read the reviews here on Unilocal.Fancy Q… nothing fancy.

Had a great meal. Jason the waiter was one of the most diligent and friendliest waiters I’ve ever had. Very accommodating for kids, sushi was delicious. Hidden gem, not the easiest place to find!

I REAAAAAAALLLYYYY wanted to like this place. Really. But after consulting with my husband it was clear I couldnt give it more than 2 stars. My husband and I are visiting family in HHI and we were looking for a hibachi spot. Apparently none are open for lunch so we settled for this place. We walked in and were greeted immediately which was nice. As we sat down and our server got our drinks and gave us some complimentary miso soup(?) It was fairly good. We ordered– I got the hibachi lunch combo– comes with a salad, rice, and chicken/steak. My husband got the same, except shrimp instead. When we asked the server what vegetables came with the lunch combo, she didn’t really know. Oh well. We waited and she brought a complementary tempura crab thing. It wasn’t that tasty, but it was free. Finally our food arrived. We had to ask for a refill on drinks(which basically took forever), and the lady forgot the chicken to my combo entirely. By the time she finally got me the chicken I had finished my meal. The waitress also forgot our salads altogether, but when we got them they didnt even taste good. By the end of all this I couldnt tell if the waitress was annoyed that we kept asking her for stuff(!!) Anyway, the food wasn’t that great of quality and my husband definitely wasnt satisfied. Also what is up with their menu?!? I could make it for them on Word in like 5 min. !?

Great meal, great staff! We’ve had sushi a lot of places, this may be the best! The prices are unbelievable for the quality and quantity. We’ll be there again before we head home and it will go on our«musts» for future trips to HH.

Fancy Q, why are you hiding? You are great! I discovered Fancy Q kind of by accident. I just happened to be in the area shopping and someone recommended it to me. I would have never even known it was there. The restaurant is tucked way back in a plaza and it’s easy to pass it on 278. As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted with a «moshi moshi»! I was so excited. I have not heard that since we left Japan almost 5 years ago. Two Japanese gentleman were behind the sushi bar just a rollin’ away. Yessss! My waiter Jason was so nice and went out of his way for me. Ironically, I did not end up getting any sushi. Jason told me one of their most popular items for lunch was the chicken teryaki so that’s what I tried. The appetizer was pieces of fried crab legs that were so good I ate it very slowly to fully enjoy. The teryaki was very tasty and a generous portion. Will definitley go back and make sure I try the sushi!
