Amazing service and incredible food. Our family always goes here for the brisket when we visit HHI. Worth it and the banana pudding is incredible too.

Just ok. We went on a Sunday afternoon. The place was understaffed. The poor waitress was working her tail off but couldn’t handle the whole place by herself. The brisket, citrus salad, and fries were all acceptable but nothing worth having again.

Our server was Blair and she made our visit spectacular. Her knowledge of the menu and Hilton Head made her a star of hospitality in our book. Our food for our late lunch was SO good, at the end of lunch we ordered dinner to go. There is a 2 for 1 lunch/brunch/dinner coupon in the pictured discount book… available free from visitors center or resort concierges. Even without coupon, the meat and 3 sides lunch special $ 8.48…was a spectacular deal. Smoked fried chicken, A+++++++ Brisket.perfect.moist and flavorful… A+ Ribs(2+ inches on top of rib) …with side of Carolina BBQ sauce A+ Pulled pork. A Green beans .B Mac and cheese .B+ Pulled pork salad. A–(needed more vegetables) Steamed Broccoli. A+ Pina Colada $ 12 .B We recommend this restaurant highly… and nominate Blair(our server) for a raise. We grazed our way through the menu and loved every bite. We thank the management for its great menu recipes and in hiring that team of chefs. .and Blair… she made our visit great!

When you walk in, this place seems like your typical BBQ joint — right down to the red plastic cups and the paper towel holder on the table. However, if you are looking for good southern-style pulled pork or fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs, stop looking. This is it. This place also doesn’t skimp on portion sizes. At least not on the pulled pork plate. It was piled high! They make their own BBQ beans, and they were really good. Husband said you can take a pass on the mac and cheese. No bueno! Coleslaw was good, flavorful but not overly«mayonnaise-y.» Fries are thick and crispy. Not greasy. Service was solid. Nothing exceptional, but not bad. Overall a great experience and I would recommend. Oh yeah. One thing to note. If you go during happy hour. I overheard the server at the table next to ours tell her guests that the servers are not allowed to bring the drinks to the tables in the dining room at happy hour prices? They are charged at regular price. However, you can go buy your drinks at the bar at the lower prices and bring them back to your table yourself. Otherwise, you have to sit in the bar area if you want to be served drinks.

Ribs — had a funny after-taste. Either fuel related or liquid smoke. Either way there was a chemically based after-taste to my ribs. Perhaps there was a spot of charred sauce on the section of grill/smoker where my ribs were cooked. Not bad ribs, just not«Award-Winning» quality. Had the Voodoo wings — really good. Haystack onions were great. Wish the sauce had more bite/heat.

I didn’t have high expectations going in, but the food was surprisingly delicious. I had the Maui Wowii chicken and my husband had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes. We were both happy with our meals and the service was excellent.(Don’t slip on their greasy floors)

Food was good, atmosphere was nice, but service was poor. Was not busy and we saw our server rarely, food took over a hour of us waiting for it to come out.

A local I met on the beach and as I good Southern girl I felt obligated to try the regional BBQ. My ribs were very good; they feel right off the bone like a good rib should! That was my favorite part of the meal, but that is not a bad thing. A good rack of ribs can take a restaurant far!! The sides were ok, but I make my own Mac and cheese so I am a little snobby about that. My only issues was the service. The waitress was nice enough, but tracking her down was tricky. We came about 25 minute before happy hour ended and I honestly did not think we would get out drink order in before it ended. There were filled tables but it was not slammed packed. We got a table for 6 right away. The drinks took so long to get, my friend wondered if they were actually making the beer. No time to order a second round. They set the tone for service the whole evening. But these things happen and it is not fair to ding a hole restaurant because of one waiters lacking on one particular evening. I would hope this is not a regular occurance. Get the ribs, my were very good.

While visiting the island for the holidays we stumbled upon this gem. Let me tell you, once we entered we were instantly greeted by the pleasant aroma of down south BBQ. We were seated, given menus, and our order came out super quick! It’s pretty dark on the inside, there’s a full bar, and really nice seating options outside on the patio, but enough about the ambiance lets get down and dirty! We started with a 6 piece garlic Parmesan wing, now this flavor is usually mediocre, but there’s was absolutely positively the best representation of this flavor that my taste buds had ever experienced! They are served with a ranch dipping sauce that is much better than your traditional ranch dressing too. My husband and I both ordered the smoke fried chicken, I know what you’re thinking… What in the heck is smoke fried?! Well, according to our server it’s smoked for 12 hours and then breaded and fried. It’s got two skins on it, fried and smoked, and it was absolutely phenomenal! My mom in law ordered the bbq chicken and she said hers was so good she was chewing on the bone! My son had the kid burger sliders which were also pretty darn tasty, so needless to say everything was DELICIOUS! Plates during lunch time(11 – 3) are $ 8.00, that’s a meat and three sides! Can’t beat that! Oh, and they come with this sweet cornbread that’s like a better version of jiffy! We went yesterday and I think we’re going back today! Yes, we are some serious foodies!

Went here just because we were craving BBQ& once again… I wanted to see the hype! It was pretty good. The sliders especially. We went for happy hour so it’s a good spot to get your BBQ craving for a good price. I would definitely go back! I hate they were doing construction during business hours. That was the only bad part.

First let me say if you don’t mind country music blasting loud enough to interfere with your conversation, you want to watch and not listen to several sports games at once and you are ok with mediocre food then this place might be for you. I am not sure how this place has so many stars. We arrived for dinner on a Wednesday night in September… 25 minute wait. So we saddled up to the bar as we were told we would get service there. Getting service was not quite as easy as we were told and once we ordered there would be long stretches between when we would see someone. Another couple arrived at the empty bar and it took about five minutes to get a menu. So I have established the atmosphere and service was below par. Now on to the food. I ordered a burger and sweet potato fries. The beef tasted odd and the fries with dried up. I ended up eating less than half of my burger and only a handful of my fries. It was obvious when the waitress came to clear my plate that I did not enjoy the meal, perhaps that is why she didn’t ask? Well, when we got the check the price of the beer was incorrect. We ordered one of the draft specials and we were charged a random rate. Somewhere between the regular price and the special price. So if you do end up here do yourself a favor and check that you were charged the correct amount. With so many choices in Hilton Head why go to this place and wait for food that is mediocre at best?

Decent barbecue but not enough sauces available. Good, pleasant servers. Bar atmosphere… very casual. Make sure that you order the ribs. Fall off the bone good.

One Hot Mama’s located down near Sea Pines Entrance has Great Pub style food at reasonable prices. Tip — if you go during peak dinner time just sit at one of the bars and get served immediately by their friendly responsive staff. The go to place when you’re really hungry & just want a quick good meal. Can’t go wrong here!

Amazing BBQ on the island of seafood restaurants. Conveniently located right outside of the Sea Pines gates. We started with frozen drinks in a souvenir mason jar… I’m a sucker for a take-home glass. I got the lunch combo with pulled pork, Mac&cheese, fried okra and broccoli. Everything was delicious and the pulled pork was amazeballs. I should have bought a bottle of the BBQ sauce because that was so good that we licked it off of our plates. Definitely a must try when you’re looking for some good southern BBQ.

Best ribs ever! … In my life! Order the ribs. Order more things if you want, but you must order the ribs. If you don’t, you’re an idiot. Also the only cornbread I’ve had in my life that was worth eating. Sub out fries for Mac cheese.

We have always liked this place. The wings are good and the variety a welcome change. Our visit this time no different with our wing fans. This time the wings came with a ‘basket’ for the veggies which came on the side. The three stalks of celery looked a bit lonely, craving attention from their neighboring sauced drenched wings. One of our table mates ordered salmon. The waiter hesitated when we ordered, and we should have taken that as a sign. A small pink square with the ordered sides. Nothing to write home about. Youngest ordered a side of sweet potato fries, which she said were tasty, but ice cold. One hot mama’s, in its early years, was known for hot, fresh and favorable food. As the Serg group has grown, it appears that they are forgetting the little touches that made the individual restaurants special.

Just had the Teriyaki Wings. Holy smokes… They were the size of Pterodactyl wings! Grilled and charred with a sweet glaze. OMG heaven! Joy greeted me when I walked in and she is just a delight!!!

Continuing my BBQ tour, I looked up some of the higher rated restaurants on Hilton Head and came across this place. Apparently the owner/chef(not sure which, maybe both) had starred on Next Food Network Star, and everyone in the reviews was raving about the place and so was my friend who lives on the island. It’s pretty much located smack dab in the middle of the touristy area Hilton Head, but we didn’t have any trouble parking. I can imagine come late Spring and Summer that you might We were seated right away, and there wasn’t a whole lot of people in there, because we waited until about 3 to get a meal, but it gradually filled up. The bartender waited on us, and he was very friendly and helpful and incredibly funny. He was doing a great job of taking care of an increasing number of tables as well. I ended up ordering ribs again but also put in an order of wings, since they were known for them and have won a few awards for some of their sauces. The ribs were so tasty and came with a red sauce lightly splashed on top, and the wings were just awesome. I went with the Hot Asian, which is what they have won some awards for, and the Hot BBQ. The girlfriend and I both liked the hot BBQ the best. I love when wings are smoked then grilled will take them that way over fried any day. They came right off the bone and had so much more flavor. My friend really liked her wings as well, and she also loves the Korean BBQ Short Rib taco. I think my only gripe was that my soda tasted funky. I’m not sure if it was a one-off, but I think they were running out of syrup. It was in between meals so that could be. This is another great place I’d recommend to anyone visiting Hilton Head looking for some great American food cooked really well. It’s located in a block of all kinds of bars and restaurants, so once you’re done eating, you can either chill there or move onto the next spot. If I’m back again, I’ll definitely make a night out of it!
