The Smokehouse

We look forward to eating here every time we come to Hilton Head. The smokehouse plate, which has a bit of everything, was outstanding. Everyone enjoyed their meals.

Very good food, great value, and friendly staff! The outdoor firepit area is a nice addition, although the weather didn’t let us enjoy it during our last visit.
We were with a pretty large group and the folks at the Smokehouse were very welcoming and accommodating.

This place is a great for the sporty family! My family of 5 loved the food and the atmosphere. We ate their ribs, Angus burger, and pulled pork sandwich. All the food was made perfect, compliments to the chef! Our waiter, Will, recommended the ribs– fantastic choice! TV’s are indoors and outdoors. Our waiter turned on the NBA Finals, game #6, on a huge projector screen TV for my Indiana family. This made our night, especially my sons’! Thank you Smokehouse! We will definitely make a 2^nd visit!

Awesome food! Our favorite BBQ place is Pappy’s in St. Louis and this absolutely rivaled it. Everything we ate was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend! The mustard sauce was great.

Was looking for an economical happy hour with cheap and good bar food. And good drink prices. Found it!

This is going to be short and sweet, we have been here twice this week and loved it!!! True the service was a little slow, but the food was great!!! Large portions so we took some home, you got to love that… They also had a small band one night and they were good!!!

From the outside, this place looks great. The inside matches a steakhouse atmosphere. The place is dark on the inside so reading the menu can be difficult. I ordered the ribs and chicken combo. The ribs were good, but my piece of chicken was really dry! The cornbread was great. Overall, the experience was disappointed, but i would give a second shot.

The service was welcoming and pleasant, but the meat wasn’t seasoned! Even just a little salt…
We had the brisket (cooked well, but no fat and no salt), and the salmon. The salmon was bland at best.
I wouldn’t come here unless you enjoy your meat needing to be slathered in sauce to eat. I personally think meat should speak for itself. The sauce I would rate better than the food, but nothing to write home about.
Hopefully they can pick up the slack in the kitchen and this would be a consistent dining experience.
I appreciate the manager’s courtesy though! The wait staff should be commended.

I was in the mood for good bbq and that is what we got. We had a young waiter who was a little slow in taking our orders and let us know he was behind but we were in no rush and it wasn’t that long a wait. Once ordered food did not take long at all. We had the fresh made potato chips with homade onion dip and it was very good. Meals were mixed bbq pork options so we could taste little of everything. It was good without sauce but even better with it. Plenty of extra to take home. Looking forward to the leftovers. Just as we were leaving music had started on ouside deck. If it hadn’t been such a long day would have been a nice place to hang out and another cocktail.

Great BBQ, nice atmosphere. We went for dinner and to watch an NBA playoff game. Food was as expected and service was fast and attentive. I had the brisket sandwich, which almost had too much brisket. I had to take some off and eat it separately because it all didn’t fit on the bun. Great sauces to choose from as well. The onion loaf was delicious. A good choice to go with friends to chat, eat and watch a game if you’d like.

Today was our first visit, but will not be our last ! Our server, Shelby was prompt and courteous! Had a terrific Bloody Mary and the food was delicious! The smoked wings hit the spot ! Soup of the day was corn chowder and it was homemade, the pulled pork was moist and tender and the ribs fell off the bones !

It was just ok… we had the smoked chicken which was pretty good as one dish. The special of the day which was the shellfish of the day… once again broken the golden rule. When at a bbq order bbq… not fish. It was just ok… should have got ribs or ends… but the French fries were good… but when that’s the best to say… probable not somewhere to come back to. Service was a little slow as well.

The hostess was very unpleasant today at lunch and acted as she was doing us a favor by seating us in the ½ empty indoor area. The waitress took over 10 mins to even stop by and acknowledge our table and take a drink order. We had 4 in our party and not one person enjoyed their meal.
We have eaten here before and had a much better meal and experience.

I loved this place. Me and my bf went here for happy hour and we got 2 orders of wings 2 beers, 2 pulled pork tacos and a keylime pie and only paid $ 29. The food also came out fast. They have a nice fireplace outside and another bar outside. It wasnt too crouded neither like most of the restaurants I noticed in Hilton Head.

Carolina BBQ!
If you want to taste good Carolina BBQ, this is the place. Dine in, or call ahead and carry out. Order extra for leftovers!

Do you love fall-​off-​the-​bone, savory, smoked, no-​sauce-​required baby back ribs? Then this place is a MUST! Our Brazilian family thrives on BBQ’d meat and we all agreed, this place is legit!
The pulled pork sandwich and the Butt and Bones were also devoured but the star was the ribs! Don’t walk… run! (And order the spiked tea to wash it all down.)

Good place. We had the potato skins and Angus burgers. All was good and would recommend this place. Service was quick and staff was pleasant.

This is the only restaurant in the country that I will order ribs from. Ok, I don’t travel that much but enough to know good from bad from average. I do BBQ myself and tend to prefer my own cooking.
For example, I won’t get ribs from the world famous Dinosaur BBQ. Not good enough. BBQ places in Texas or North Carolina. No.
The sides at The Smokehouse are great. The sauces are better. The smoked chicken wings are amazing. If you like BBQ I highly recommend this place.

Checked out the Smokehouse on our most recent trip to HHI in May. Actually, the restaurant is one of the staples of my wife’s family vacation every year that they return to HHI. This time we went on a Monday night around dinner time. There was no wait and were seated immediately.
I typically stick with one of the sandwiches, but the ribs are also very good, especially covered with one of the three sauces provided on the table. There is a hot and mild barbecue sauce along with a mustard sauce. The hot isn’t very spicy but you can definitely tell the difference between the two. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich this year and it did not disappoint. The brisket was slightly pink and juicy. I covered it in hot sauce and was satisfied. The sandwich comes with seasoned fries, which were very tasty. Our group also had the reuben and the pulled pork. Everyone agreed it was good.
We had nothing to complain about in regards to the service as our drinks were kept filled and the waiter was attentive. The restaurant has a nice sized bar area with a full bar as well as an outdoor patio. The place is full of TVs so you won’t be missing any sporting event.
Not the greatest bbq I’ve ever had, but definitely worth the stop!
