This is the ultimate dive bar in Hollywood. First up the place is a little small, narrow and long. There is a smoking section and non. The bar has a rotating section of about 6 draft beers. Everything else is bottled but they have a huge selection. I would start off with a PRL. Then look at the wall and see what fits your tastes. Lots of locals go here and there are just a few bar staff. So everyone is pretty friendly. If you get buzzed or a little hungry there is a great pizza place next door. They only take cash and have plenty of rules like Soup Nazi. If you bring your pizza into the bar that’s OK. They don’t have napkins for you and you must throw your garbage out outside. Come with some friends or make some new ones. Ohh almost forgot but the prices are great here. Can’t drink at many places that are this affordable.

Seriously? I mean I am a beer lover, but the place smells, it is tiny and the owner is plainly nasty! Arguing about politics with the customers, give me a break! Not a good experience at all

Downtown Hollywood’s only artsy dive bar. If you want excellent craft beers at a reasonable price and an environment with art, photographs, and sculpture, come here. The crowd is of all ages and you’ll run into people involved in the local art or music scene. They have a hipster DJ on Wednesday nights that plays garage rock, surfer music, and techno. Open mic night showcases local talent in any arena, from stand-up comedy to music. It’s a narrow and small bar with a sofa and a few chairs near the entrance. There’s outdoor seating as well. The bartenders are friendly as long as you are too. A couple of times the whole bar started singing together when a cool song played. PRL is located in an upscale area of downtown so you will feel safe even though you are in a hole-in-the-wall. Parking is in front.

Honestly, I was a little uneasy by the pair of mannequin legs sticking upside down in the window display. And another pair inside a giant bird cage in the bar(along with two dolls). When other Unilocalers say cozy and intimate, this is not what I have in mind. But as a coworker says this is her favorite place, and as we do need a drink after all the greasy food in the heat, I take a deep breath and sit down. The young female bartender is personable, and I can see how once you get used to it this place can grow on you. On my visit they have about eight beers on draft for $ 5 each, some locals, some domestic and two Europeans. Sadly, the tap doesn’t work on the one I want to try. Bottles are lined up on the shelf. Bottom shelf is $ 5 each, but selection is rather slim at that price. Middle shelf is $ 6 and top is $ 7 and up, for stuff like Delirium. Maybe I didn’t come when this place is happening, but it didn’t exactly wow me. There is a big sign«Smoking is Allowed» so I sure will not like this place when it gets crowded and smoky. Meanwhile Old Hollywood on Harrison has a big wider selection of beers all at $ 5 and more comfortable space indoors and out.

I love the atmosphere of this bar. It is very divey and super chill. As other Unilocalers state, it is a hole in the wall right next door to Mauro’s pizza but I love it. I will warn you and say that the bar is extremely tiny so if you’re planning to go with a big party you will not fit. But, the beers are super cheap and not all of them are $ 4 as others have mentioned bt most are. My partner and I have only been once because we are taking a break from drinking beer but I’m sure we will be returning soon. Highly recommended.

Great selection of European beer and American craft beer. Prices are reasonable as well. A nice little hidden gem in the heart of downtown Hollyweird.

So many times I’ve walked by this spot and have never dipped in till last night. Very laid back inside with a very eclectic vibe, bordering on the weird side; by all very cool and inviting. The beer selection consists of mainly European beers all reasonably priced. They are having their 10th Anniversary party the weekend of April 1 – 12th but I won’t be in South Florida. My wife is thinking of going with her sister and some friends. I will be back for sure since there is NO other place like it that I’ve found in South Florida!

What can I say about this cozy hole in the wall? Well, I’ve been coming to PRL since about 2005. At the time, the owner Jay and his bartender Julie ran the place mostly. The beers were always good and he’d often get the greatest stuff on tap.(lots of St. Bernardus stuff as well as other European beers. Also, Jay is Polish and he serves up Polish beers such as Okocim and Zywiec) as the years went on, PRL slowly evolved with the times. Some beers disappeared from their menu and in their place new beers arrived. Back then, PRL wouldn’t ever really get too crowded. It would get busy, but never crowded. That all had changed now as the beer scene has become more trendy and the hipster crowd rolled in, PRL has become quite the hangout. What’s important to note about PRL is that it has all the makings of an appropriate hole in the wall divey craft beer bar. Smoking is allowed and it’s small space makes for a smoke filled room. That’s one of the draws of this place though. The ambiance is what makes PRL, well, PRL. Good beers, good company, cool bartenders that you begin to become friends with. They even allow you to bring pizza in from Mauros right next door to eat while you’re sipping away at your beer. Live music is always great too, and they host their walls to local artists trying to sell their work. All in all, PRL is great, I hate cigarette smoke and still manage to hangout here because I’ve been coming for so long. If you’re a fan of good European beers and a good selection of other craft selections and don’t mind the small interior and smokey air, you will like PRL. If you don’t like smoke, they have outside seating too, so that shouldn’t be an issue. Check out PRL if you’re ever in downtown Hollywood.

PRL is like home-away-from-home for this transplanted New York cat. It’s long and dark and hip in an artsy/funky sort of way. Tons of crafted brews. Live music and comedy. Art on the walls. It stays open late and it’s right next to Mauro’s Pizza and those New York style slices(which you are welcome to chow down on at PRL). If you seek a «cold one» in a cool place – PRL is for you!

My go to dive bar on Saturday night! Live dj playing interesting tunes and a cozy atmosphere to meet new people. Different beers to chose from. It gets packed at times so don’t mind squeezing through crowds. Many stuff to look at on their walls. Art show and open mic on certain days. One Bartender working so patience is a must.

Stumbled by this place a few weeks ago with my gf one Sunday Night. Not bad! We’re a little picky when it comes to lounges. hate the«bro» crowd you’re subjected to in Lauderdale, so this was a nice break without having to drive down to Miami. It’s divey, but very intimate and cool. It was also our first time so we don’t know how rowdy it gets on the weekend – Sunday was really sparse, though(not that it bothered us). the Dj was excellent. all deep and tech house – kind of what I would expect from a place like that.

I love this place! Came here on a Friday night and hung out with a few friends. I like the atmosphere in this place. It’s a small neighborhood bar but feels very cozy. They got all kinds of different import beers and it seems like you can’t go wrong picking anyone of them. Friendly bartender and nice crowd. Music in here is not so loud so you can actually hear conversation between you and your friends. Call me Norm! Would definitely come back again!

My favorite spot in Hollywood. Not only are the bartenders really nice but they have a great selection of the most random craft beer. The seating can be limited but for the most part it is never super crowded, even on weekends. It really reminds me of a locals bar that would be in NYC or Seattle.

This is a good little beer bar. It is very divey, especially for the area, but that is part of the charm. It’s a super laid back place to grab a drink, and it’s nearly impossible to pigeon hole the clientele. I saw a dog sitting on a barstool, and you could smoke in the bar. They have a few tables out on the sidewalk if that’s your thing. They have a ton of different types of bottled beer to choose from. I tried a few different ones, and they all cost about $ 6. The bartender was nice and really knew what she was talking about with respect to the beers. I don’t think they had liquor, and it appeared bottled beer was definitely their specialty. If you are in the mood for no frills, laid back beer drinking this is your place.

Cool little dive beer bar in Hollywood. Emphasis on little. This was not a problem the night that I was there but I can see where it could get really crowded. The atmosphere is most definitely divey but seemed to have a good mixture of all kinds hanging out. It did not give off the impression that anyone would be made to feel unwelcome there. The other upside to its divey-ness is that it is not in a divey part of town. So while you get to hang out in a dive bar you aren’t in a dive part of town. Beer only so don’t go if you are looking for anything else. Since they are beer only they have a large selection and the bartender was super knowledgeable about every beer we asked about. If we lived down there I could see us going there again. Fun place for after dinner to hang out with friends and isn’t that what it is really all about?

Great dive bar! The service was quick and the beer selection variety is sure to have something for everyone. Tried their brew and was not a huge fan. Will definitely be coming back again
