Called to place an order and the lady put me on hold then hung up on me. Called again and no one answered. Called a third time and someone finally took my order. Went in to pick up my order and the guy just walked away from the counter. 5 mins later he comes back and retrieves my food from under the same counter he walked away from. No words. He finally gave me my total. The breakfast is always good. The to-go service could use some work.

My boyfriend and I went there for Friday evening dinner. I’ve never been there before, but I remembered that couple years ago my friend recommended it to me. We gave it a try, even though my boyfriend wasn’t too happy about the idea. We came in around 7 pm, there was plenty of tables for us to choose from. We chose a booth. Right after we sat down we’ve noticed the table wasn’t properly wiped after previous guests. We ordered food our food, and it came out fast and hot, but we didn’t get any side plates or silverware with our appetizer. Eventually I asked the waiter to bring us some. While we were eating our main dish I’ve noticed a ROACH crawling on my sit, right next to my bag. Do I need to say I haven’t really finished my meal after that? To summarize: — food was ok, — waiter forgot about the most basic things, like plates, but was very nice, — place is filthy dirty. We definitely won’t return.

Two stars is being generous. Husband and I thought we would give this place one last chance. since it appeared to have closed for a while, we were sure there must have been some improvements made. HAH! Far from it! In fact the food is worse! I ordered a BLT on toasted wheat. What I got was a soggy sloppy pile of half cooked, über greasy, fatty bacon, shredded lettuce on limp bread. The tomato was so thin at first I couldn’t find it and thought they had forgotten it completely. It was squished deep into the bottom slice of bread. We did have silverware this time, and I noticed the absence of flies. The waiter, who was sweet and attentive, kept giving us Fonzie thumbs when asking anything. How does it taste?(Fonzie thumbs). Need more coffee?(Fonzie thumbs.) I think we got that six times. But you know what? It was the best thing of the meal. Something I didn’t have to eat. Now that is sad. Nope. Not going back. Ever.

I’d put 59 Diner into the same category with IHOP and Denny’s, in that they have decent food, but nothing spectacular. For me, it’s a case of having too many things on the menu that they don’t have the capacity to make everything«good», so everything is «decent». Additionally, the service and food quality go downhill during the late night hours. The service is quite friendly and polite. The décor looks to aim for a flashy retro diner feel, reminiscent of the TV show«Happy Days». One strange thing that happened on our last visit, it was 2 am of Christmas eve when we entered, and were politely and apologetically told that the chef had just gone home, so we could not be served that night. I appreciate his professionalism in that situation, but it was quite confusing for me, since 1) they are a 24 hour establishment, and 2) there were no signs indicating an early closure for the holiday.

Used to be a nice place. The Tomball Parkway location is depressing. The staff looks worn out. No one to greet me when I entered. No one to seat me either. No one at the register. There appeared to be only two waiters at 5pm on a Sunday! The place was deserted of customers. This should tell you something already. My patty melt was over cooked and had very little cheese. Onion rings were very greasy. Not an appealing meal but edible. Someone needs to renovate this place badly. The booth seats are torn and the ceiling looked like there was water damage. I suspect this place is on its way out. This will be my last attempt to eat here.

Every time we come here there are ore and more things wrong. came in today with my husband son and newborn. Hostess sat us in a booth where we could not breath in. So tight. Moved us to another table in a corner where my husband’s chair waste rally against the wall. The floor had towels lined up against the wall. Moldy towels. Huge chunks of the drywall were ripped off. We were sitting under a TV and the amount of dust caked on the wires were disgusting. The food here is usually decent but the upkeep/interior is completely unacceptable. This may be why the location on I-10 closed down. This will be our last time here until we hear about renovations! You will lose your appetite!

We had written off 59 Diner thanks to the experience we have consistently had at the Stafford location. They dont carry many of the items on the menu, and will argue with the customer when the food doesn’t come out right. However, our experience at this location off of 249 and 1960 was the exact opposite 1. NEWYEARS Day. You expect a location like this might be packed or understaffed for a 9am breakfast on NYRS Morning but not the case. We walked in, sat down, and were met very quickly by our server Andrew. Drinks and coffee came quickly. 5 stars. 2. Service. Andrew was courteous, friendly and attentive. He took all of our orders,(6) without writing a single thing down, and when the food came out all 6 orders were exactly right except one egg order went from over easy to scrambled. That wasn’t a problem for us though; they were happily eaten as is. At the end, though we were not sitting in any order, he perfectly split the check and got it to us right on time. Drinks were all attended to and no glass went empty. 5 stars. 3 Food. One would think you can’t screw up breakfast foods but the Stafford location taught us otherwise. With the one egg-ception, all the dishes came out as ordered. Someone, when sampling another person’s pork chop commented that it was overdone in her opinion, but the man who ordered it loved it. Everyone was happy with their food. 5 stars. I hope the Gen manager there considers training all the managers at the the Stafford location, because this Tomball location gets everything right that Stafford can’t figure out. THANKYOUFORCAPPINGOFFOURPERFECTNEWYEARS!

Let me start off by saying the food tastes good… but it was not hot — more like mildly luke warm and the service sucked more that I have seen in a while. I won’t be going back again.

Where do I begin, when we first arrived lets just say the welcoming was very dry. Our waiter(the only person that was in there) looked as if he was upset he had guest right now, after we finally decided what we wanted to eat he took our menus and literally tossed them where the other menus were. Then once our food got out I was highly disappointed. The food was so horrible to where it made me so nauseous. I don’t complain about food I give credit where credit is due and would I recommend this 59 diner to anyone? I definitely would not.

If I could give this place no stars, I would. This place is very unorganized and don’t know the first thing about good service. I decided to give this place a try and never again. Took forever for someone to get our drink order and even longer for our food order. Apparently there’s only one lady taking orders and she stayed the longest at one table just having conversations, not acknowledging she had other tables. After waiting a long time, she finally comes up and asks us if we were ready to order. We told her yes and she just walked away and never came back. The busser ended up coming up to our table and says«I guess I’ll be taking care of you guys». Wow. I am just speechless. This is the first place I’ve ever been to that has given the worst service in my experience. I do give the busser some slack because initially it’s not his job to take the tables but he did anyways because there was no one else to do it. So to give an update. Two American men come in and sat down. The one and only lady who has been serving tables here went right up to them, taking care of them immediately. So honestly, I feel the there’s a bit of racism because we are Hispanic. Every other table she was talking to and actually taking care of were all American. Sad to say but racism still does exist in this world.

Don’t let the name fool you. This place is more than a diner, it’s super delicious! The salads are amazing, as well as the burgers. Everything we have had from here is delicious. Service is great! Would recommend to anyone!

It takes sheer mastery of terrible cooking to manage to simultaneously burn and undercook what was most likely a prepackaged heap of hashbrowns. I could have overlooked the lackluster food if the waitstaff had been polite or at least welcoming but unfortunately for me they were neither. Not only was I hassled every few minutes by my waiter but after finishing my meal in what was less than 20 minutes, I was hurried out by what appeared to be a manager(mind you, I had already paid and was just trying to finish my coffee) who asked me rather pointedly if I was waiting on someone. I guess the stress of serving a sparse handful of diners in a mostly empty restaurant was just too much for this location. If you want fast food that is subpar to a Mcdonalds by all means come here.

Worst service we have ever had in our life. Was two am, an hour for our food:/ my two friends were diabetic and needed to eat. Come on guys get it together. One manager and one waitress for the whole place??? This place should be closed.

Absolutely amazing food! So good we had to come back the next day. The 59 Diner doesn’t substitute food quality with atmosphere and nostalga, has a very diverse menu, and a very attentive waitstaff. We came here once in the evening and had the philly cheesesteak, milkshake, funnel cake, and fried mushrooms. You could taste the decreased salt on some of the items, but shakers are provided at the table so this isn’t a big deal. The funnel cake was some of the best I’ve ever had, and the milkshakes are entirely what they’re cracked up to be. On the second day we had the breakfast(big breakfast for me and steak omlette for my partner) with french toast. The french toast was some of the best french toast we have ever eaten without exception. I also recommend any tea fan to try the peached ice tea; this may be one of the best peach teas you’ve ever tasted. In summary, I don’t think we’ll ever go to IHOP or Cheeburger ever again :)

I have always loved a good diner. Had breakfast early with my brother on MLK Monday so there was only one other table. The first one we picked to sit at still had syrup that had not been cleaned, but we were promptly waited on after moving to a clean table, and the service was good after this. The breakfast was perfect, looked appetizing, and exactly how I expect sausage, cinnamon French toast and scrambled eggs to taste. I’ll be back, but probably when they are slow so we don’t see the problems with service other reviewers have complained about.

We came here for breakfast, and it was a good experience. Our server, Mimi, was very courteous and attentive to our order. We both chose the Breakfast Sampler and for the amount of food we got, it is reasonably priced at $ 8.99 — eggs(the way you like), hash browns, two pancakes, and your choice of two bacon, sausage patties or links. The only kink I would say in our meal was that they were out of apple juice at 9:30AM. Fast service, fresh food, and enjoyable time — highly recommend!

This has been a breakfast restaurant at least twice a week for the past couple of years or so for me. I always enjoy the friendly staff and the food this place has to offer. I am a regular here along with the rest of my family and we have enjoyed the waitress who usually waits on us whenever we are here in the morning. The staff always is friendly and there are always new employees sometimes that work here almost every month. It’s always been decent to come here and talk to the friendly waiters, cooks and the entire staff. Usually when I come for breakfast, I get the Texas Sampler which includes eggs, hash browns, ham, and a choice of pancakes or French toast. I tend to try other dishes which are a sensational taste which is why I’m always going to love this place for breakfast. It’s also a restaurant open for lunch and dinner but I don’t really go for dinner because the staff sometimes tends to get unsatisfactory when the evening rolls around. When I went there for dinner once there was confusion in the waiter and the food didn’t taste as good as I thought it would. However they were polite to bring me a better burger after the first one which I found tasted better. Parking is somewhat difficult when there are lots of people going to eat. In the morning hours it is harder to park which requires you to go to the back sometimes. However the staff is friendly and there’s a jukebox to enjoy classics and other music. All the 50s knickknacks inside make it feel as if you’re reliving that era. If you want a good breakfast, lunch, or dinner, why not try 59? It’s also good for the whole family.
