The dim sum foods were like any other place so nothing special. If you want bad service though, go here. There was minimal to no service besides taking your order and bringing your food. Other than that, they don’t come back which is normal for these kinds of restaurants. However, when there is basically no service, that means there should be no tip. Our waiter had the audacity to ask«No tip?!» after paying the bill! Never coming back

Okay… so the service here sucks, parking is horrendous, there’s a wait on weekends, it’s cramped in here, and food might take awhile, BUT even with all that nonsense I still manage to come back all the freaking time! The reason why? Well, I’m not a morning person and I can come in here and order dim sum anytime I want! Hallelujah I don’t have to get up early! The food is made when ordered so they come out hot and fresh(no need to wave old ladies down and wait for carts with cold dim sum). When ordering here I learned to stick to strictly dim sum items and to steer away from off menu specialty items like fried rice or flat noodles because they’re not all that great. Other than that this place has got to be my favorite place in Houston to get dim sum!

Every time I’m in Houston my friends and I stop by and order the same thing. We have never had a dish come out bad. The best place for dim sum in Houston that we have had.

Been here several times. Lemme address some things… the rude lady? She’s actually really nice when they’re not busy… She’s been nice to us every time we come here. The servers talk to you when they’re not busy and the tables are CLEAN when they’re not running around during lunch… What we like: Stick rice in lotus leaf Steamed pork and sea food dumpling Steamed seafood dumpling Ha cao/Har gao Bean curd sheet with meat Stuffed Eggplant Birds nest Didn’t really care for: Steam pork buns… too much bun and the BBQ pork was bland Pork puff… same stuffing as the pork bun no good. I didn’t really like the Shanghai style pork dumpling, but my friends did Spicy mustard and the chili oil are both very very spicy/intense here, but edible! Lol :)

I’m sitting in the restaurant with a lot of dishes almost untouched as I am writing this. The food here is atrocious. This place was the worst dim sum restaurant I’ve ever visited yet. Everything tasted so… artificial To start of, this place is tiny and seating is very uncomfortable, not a huge problem if the food could make up for it but that’s not the case here. To start of with the most disappointing dish: egg with pork congee soup. The portion is so tiny and there was virtually nothing in the congee other than some floating pieces of particles… I expected my congee to have solid rice grains but it was basically just a soup. The pork filled bun was a disaster. Immediately I noticed that the color was off. Normally it would be a darker red/brownish filling, but here it is bright crimson red! So Red that it was alarming. The taste was of course, very off from what I wanted. Steamed pork spare ribs had 4 – 5 pieces in it. And overly sweetened. Steamed bean curd sheet with meat is usually my favorite. But here it is so overly sauced on the outside and guess what, the inside was cold! Okay… I thought maybe the rice noodle with dough could make up for it because come on, how could you cook that wrong? And WOWBAMINTHEFACE, it was indeed inedible. The whole thing didn’t taste like food and if you don’t believe me, go try it. The outside rice noodle was sooo WHITE as if they bleached the whole thing. I almost wanted to cry when I saw how every dish we ordered had failed us. Oh… Don’t even get me started on the chinese broccoli with oyster sauce… Everyone on the table is so so sad.

The dim sum has gone way downhill, I hate the small space, the wait, and service is hit or miss. My table ordered the har gow, shu mai, fried taro, fried turnip, hu tieu xao, among many other dishes, and all of them were horrible. We ended up taking 80% of the food home, which I doubt we’ll even eat. The hu tieu was hard and lacked seasoning, the chicken feet looked weird to begin with nonetheless tasted even weirder, the har gow and shu Mai(a staple for dim sum!) was unimpressive and I’ve had better frozen ones. Terrible. Another place on bellaire that’s gone downhill added to my never return list.

Their food taste pretty similar to any other dim sum restaurant. It’s nothing special really. They have gone up in prices for which I don’t know why… Their service pretty much sucks butt and the restaurant is filthy. One of the waitresses during my most recent visit growled at my cousin because she used up another empty to-go box when the the other box still had space for more food. What? What??? Excuse us for wanting to take home food for separate people. The tables are extremely sticky too.

I love their dim sum! I am a chicken feet lover & this place has the best chicken feet in Houston. All their dishes are good. I like the concept of them bringing it all out at once and not having to wait for the push carts to come around. This place is small but usually the wait isn’t too bad. Perfect for a brunch place on Sunday’s after church/temple.

This is the best food that I had during my stay in Houston this time. Small place but they have a pretty good system with the seating and making sure that ppl didn’t wait too long. We ordered the octopus, tripes, gann lan, chicken feet, shrimp. and a number of other food. The food is not too salty, which is good. The only downside of the place that they don’t serve tea for free… all the authentic dim sum place I know always serve tea(for free). So wish they can improve on that.

We went here on a chilly Tuesday evening. It was quite dead so service was not an issue. We were served by a Cantonese lady with glasses, she spoke English well and joked around with us. She was very pleasant, kind of a change since we all know Bellaire waitstaff etiquette. She checked on us often and even offered us free hot tea for the evening. Actually, the service is probably the reason HK Dim Sum is getting 4 stars from me… We had a great experience plus, all day dim sum? That’s always a plus. The food portions are larger compared to all other dim sum places. The portion goes hand in hand with their slightly higher prices as well. The overall taste was not too shabby, 3.5 stars out of 5. I typically over-order at dim sum places and tonight was no different. I mean, that’s what to go is for anyways, right? We ordered: Ha cao — I can eat these every single day. Definitely yummy and with full shrimp fillings(not the ground up ones) 4⁄5 Beef shu mai — I’m never a fan of shu mai’s but this was easily a 3.5÷5 Chicken feet — I don’t eat these as well but they looked rather orange and very artificial. I’m biased 1⁄5 Beef tripe with turnip — Mild flavored, I only ate the turnips 3⁄5 Fried tofu skin with vegetables — larger portion but very oily and you can taste a little«burnt» flavor on them 2⁄5 Sesame red bean balls — Nothing special, typical but I loved them regardless 3⁄5 Eggplant and shrimp in bean sauce — 3.5÷5 Two things that kind of disgusted me here was their chili oil and their bathroom. The chili oil looked rather«murky» — quick turn off. The bathroom was cramped and dirty. I’d come back… but from the other reviews, probably on a slow evening again.

This place can get really crowded and the tables are packed in there. The service is attentive though and nice. They speak English! Food. Don’t order the char siu bao or beef shu mai. The char siu is like no meat but a ton of red food coloring. The beef shu mai was spongy and the skin was tough. Not good. I did enjoy the chicken and mushroom bao, the won ton noodle soup, congee, and shrimp cheung fun were yummy though. My husband liked the birds nest shrimp ball. I didn’t try it.

Need to hire more people! Only 2 waitress helping the whole restaurant. The silverware and plates were filthy not wash clean. Food was ok. Had the usual dim sum food. Also order rib and chicken feet rice bow, is really just all 3 put together. No flavor at all. Not coming back!

Try the taro wrapped rice with pork and seafood, very flavorful. Fresh hot meals. When it gets busy though you have to try to catch the attention of waitress often because they could forget about you!

The food was great but the service was alright. But hey what do you expect in China town. You come for cheap food not service. Although the price was actually higher than most dim sums. Everything for $ 25 Steamed shrimp wrapped in rice noodle 5⁄5 Delicious! Ha cao(shrimp in a seashell form) 5⁄5 Very good also! Shrimp dumpling 5⁄5 The shrimp was on point all these shrimp dishes were good Beef tripe 1⁄5 No flavor! Tasted like water. Pork ribs 2⁄5 Also drenched in water and flavorless!

holy hell… the line at this place…‘this seems to be the most happening plaza in bellaire; I seem to find myself lingering here quite often… anyhow in search for my favorite dum sum place I decided that I’d get out of my comfort zone and try HK though my regular spot is across the street. pretty much got the standard dim sum… thru portions here are larger but it is more expensive. we spent 90 bucks today but of course my eyes wanted way more than I could eat in one sitting. please refer to pictures on our meal. our waiter was a very affable guy. the line looks worse than it is… probably waited 15mins but I wanted to see be hat the fuss was about. service is quick, the tables aren’t wiped down very well, my friend was grossed out by the food smudges left behind; the waitresses just use whatever kith be towel they had in them at the time(or so it seems). the table nxt to us said their table was dirty and the two Asian ladies started to wipe it down with napkins… one word; porter. so, after thinking about it and having my second meal from the leftovers I’ve decided this place is not any better than Chinese cuisine; and CC is better price. the wonton noodle soup at HK was really really bland; absolutely zero flavor(where’s the MSG?) I mean I don’t like msg but I don’t like my soup tasting like street water either. also from looking around seems like CC has better friend rice, definitely better soup, the dim sum at HK are huge but for me; flavor is more important than size… Clearly HK gets lots of business but for me; I’m headed back to the other side of the street.

I visited Houston for Independence Day weekend and I heard that Houston is known for it’s Chinese and Vietnamese food. Hearing that, of course I couldn’t miss it. I’ve been on the search for a great dim sum place and this place has pretty great food. When I say that, you must be surprised that I gave this place three stars. And these are the reasons why: 1. The service here is poor. We walked in, got our table, and was served our drinks. After figuring out what we wanted to eat, we sat there for a good 15 minutes until our waitress was ready to serve us. I think what caught her attention was that my boyfriend and I were sitting at the table with our arms crossed. Not because we were mad, but because we were cold. Thanks for reminding me, please bring a thin cardigan/jacket because it’s a bit chilly inside. 2. The food here is quite tasty but I have lost my appetite in the middle of it. Why? I saw a mini roach run across our table under our sauces. I almost had a heart attack. I ate in fear of the roach running out onto our food. If you’re wondering why we didn’t grab a waitress, is because I don’t think they would do much about it, other than bring out a fly swatter and fly it around our faces and our table, once they would get it, I imagine them saying, «alright. we got your roach. please enjoy your food now.» Terrible to jump to conclusions, but based on the environment there, I’m pretty sure that’s how it’s going to go down. I’d rather eat in fear than be in fear of getting smacked in the face with a fly swatter. I was thinking about giving this place two stars, but because of the food itself, I had to give it three. Good job with the quality of food, you were almost there HK Dim Sum… Almost there.

This review is for today’s experience. Saturday 9AM6÷20÷15 First off, come early! My mom and I had a pretty busy schedule and for breakfast, dim sum was the first thing on my mind! Be here early. My mom and I were here at 8:45 and sat in our car for 15 minutes. When I mean, be here early, I’m not joking, especially on a a Saturday. We weren’t the only ones waiting in our car, that’s a fact. As soon as they opened, we made sure to get our butts in the door. Service Quick and fast. You’re seated right away and they get your drink orders immediately. There was this lady who’s petite, very short hair and has light brown hair. I mention her because she speaks both Chinese and Vietnamese. Props to her for knowing both languages and accommodating to both the Chinese and Vietnamese customers. Also, she was very nice and always checked up on us if we needed anything. If it wasn’t her, I probably wouldn’t have said good things about service, like most people. Then again, we came early. Water was refilled. My favorite Dim Sums are when I can have it all day, and this is the place! Though it can get crowded… sorry let me correct myself. It can get VERY crowded and busy, this is still the place to go. Though the place may be small, it’s worth the wait. And apparently they are known to have best or top notch all day dim sum awards all over their walls. Parking There is ample parking. If you can not find parking all over the lot, then there’s 2 garages. No biggie. Food Because be came when they opened, the food was fresh. Delicious. Though, I was disappointed in the Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce. The oyster sauce was salty and though I’m glad that one of the waiters was truthful, it also was disappointing. He mentioned that they buy the sauce, rather than make it. Also, he was rude about it and we didn’t know how to explain it to him since he didn’t speak Vietnamese. So the lady comes to the rescue and takes over. Other than that, we ordered the chicken feet, birds nest shrimp ball(basically fried noodles as birds nest), xiu Mai, fried turnip, Banh cuon tom, ha cao, steamed pork bun, and lastly for dessert, egg custard tarts. Sounds like a lot. And let me tell you, it was. We even had left overs. This is one of the few that actually open early. Most places open at 10 or 11 am. So glad that this place opened at 9 because by the time it gets past that, parking spots get filled, people start coming in, and it just becomes a mess. I’m usually a cart person, because I’ll be able to know how much I’m getting and will know when you stop, versus the paper and you’re just basing it off of hungry bellies and eyes bigger than your stomach. But I’ll eventually settle for paper, just because I can get it any day of the week.

HK Dim Sum is my food haven! There are no carts here– the food is ordered a la carte and comes straight from the kitchen. Order dim sum dishes to your heart’s desire and your stomach will be thanking you for the rest of the day. I think I can eat har gow & xiu mai all day until I pass out! Other noteworthy dishes are the eggplant, rice noodle rolls with shrimp & turnip cake. Never will I fight the masses & carts in search of the best dim sum! Since this is a small restaurant, plan to come early or during non-peak hours to avoid a long wait. Don’t forget to save room for dessert– there are plenty of options here and at nearby establishments.
