Very good food! I was apprehensive about trying something new, but I am glad I did! I had the blackened voodoo chicken and shrimp! Tres leeches for desert!

Came here for the first time and wasn’t expecting anything special but it was really good! I had the voodoo chicken and shrimp(not on the menu, by request) and it was so good! My husband had the Cubano sandwich which was ok(only reason I only gave 4 stars) nothing special. I recommend trying their entrée items, they are great!

We tried this place about a year ago and it was good but not that impressive. We came back now that it’s under new management and were very impressed! I got sangria, which was great, the wings for an appetizer and the voodoo chicken and shrimp which was really good. My husband got a cast iron skillet of rice and all sorts of stuff and he loved it also. The staff was very nice and attentive. Overall we really liked it and will be going back!

Very pleasant & modern feel with a unique and delicious menu! Chava’s is extremely clean and their entrée presentation is SPOTON. Flavor is on par with presentation, so not only does it look delicious, but it truly is! I will definitely return and I will certainly recommend my friends give it a try because I know they’ll enjoy it. Highly recommended for their creative menu, clean facility, and modern feel. Thank you! Edit: Chava’s is supporting the Lady’s Athletics Students at Atascocita High School by offering a 20% discount on their dinner items and 10% discount off lunch orders!

At first we thought it was going to be a New Mexican restaurant but when we arrived we were told otherwise. It was a good change. The wait was 0 minutes. We ordered our drinks and food and the drinks were out within 2 minutes and 5 – 10 minutes after our food order it was out no joke! The drinks and food are both delicious and the staff is so friendly and helpful. We will be returning.

We went to give the new management of Chava’s a shot and we were very glad that we did. The Latin/Caribbean dishes were fresh and have great flavor. Free bread was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, with good buttery garlic/cilantro flavor. My Camarones Ajiillos was fresh, cooked just right with bright flavors. My husband’s Parilladas was sizzling offering different flavors with the 4 types of meat(chicken breast, skirt streak, and 2 sausages). The sangria was tasty and they are offering free Bananas Foster for dessert this month. Don’t let the name fool you, it’s a complete new restaurant. We only went to the old Chavas once before and was not impressed. Now, we will definitely go back.

New menu and management. We tried this place tonight for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. No more Mexican food; they now serve more of a Mediterranean/Latin flair. I really hope this new concept does well in our area as it seems like it could be our«go to» restaurant. I highly recommend you give it a try.

I don’t usually give reviews, much less bad, but I feel compelled. I’ve eaten here twice because I thought I should give them another shot. That was a mistake. The first time, I ordered an appetizer and it never showed up. I clearly asked the waitress twice, but still nothing. I thought that she didn’t hear me or possibly understand the first time, so I tried again with no result. The second time(tonight), I ordered nachos supreme, bacon wrapped jalapeño shrimp, and a bowl of queso. 1. The queso was that cheap brand«Rico’s» poured out of a can and heated up. It was disgusting. I expected more for $ 7.00. 2. The bacon wrapped shrimp had a very odd flavor, and I realized by the second one that the shrimp had turned. The sour meat of the shrimp, and the flash fried bacon was absolutely inedible. 3. The nachos were drenched in the disgusting Rico’s cheese product(of course, they’re nachos). The fajita beef on the nachos literally tasted like it had been marinating in urine. That sounds harsh, but that’s no exaggeration. Completely horrible. I personally will never eat here again. But if you’re into urine beef and rotten shrimp, then go ahead.

We had seen the place driving home each day and thought about trying it when it opened. So we came for the first time only because we got a coupon in the mail and we were looking forward to trying the margarita during happy hour. I have to be honest, I’m very disappointed with the taste and quality. I order a frozen and my wife ordered one on the rocks. We both were very much disappointed. The other two patrons seemed to be enjoying their food. We couldn’t bring myself to order any food. I was really looking forward to having a good seafood restaurant with an extended happy hour close to home. I think if this place offered better quality drinks, and maybe live bands outside on the weekends it would be doing better …

Two tacos served with rice and beans. Very disappointing. Beans had a funny taste. Cubed chicken and shredded lettuce does not make a taco. Rice had no taste. The food was not acceptable and the place felt a little odd. Not going back.

Wanted a little more variety on the menu. Not what I expected. Staff is very friendly, I wish this place had more choices.

I enjoyed this place and will go back. Yes, it is a limited menu. The food was, however, fresh and tasty. We ordered 2 different kinds of ceviche and they were lovely. We also asked for guacamole dip(not on the menu) but the waitress said it was available. I wonder if people know they can talk to their servers and ask questions. The waitress was very attentive and very sweet. They also had some entertainment on a Wednesday night. I only took off a star because the menu could be expanded.

Fresh food,(you can clearly taste that!) and really nice staff, had cheese quesadilla, big shrimp cocktail, rice and beans and a sliced avocado and two margaritas… it was really good! It is a limited menu but very reminiscent of what you would find in Mexico, I enjoyed it very much. I will definitely go again. :)

Very attentive staff. Great food! Plus on service and very clean restaurant. Their Family Platter is a great portion, also their shrimp cocktail is good. Micheladas are great, they have a good variety of seafood options on menu. Glad to have a seafood restaurant back around the area.

My husband and I went there Friday, August 29, 2014 at 5:30 pm. We did not have to wait to be seated. We waited for a several minutes for a server to take our drink order and finally ordered after about 10 minutes. The menu is very small, one page for everything, apps, meals, drinks and desserts. My husband ordered the fish tacos with rice and beans. He asked if the fish was grilled or fried and the server said grilled. I ordered the shrimp tacos with rice and beans. It took over 45 minutes for us to receive our meal. When we got our food my husbands fish was fried and I only had two pieces of shrimp on each of my tacos. The tacos had shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes, no sauce and not much flavor at all. The lettuce made the tortillas soggy. The rice was hard and had zero flavor. My husbands meal was very bland as well. As far as prices they are decently priced but lacks flavor! For this being a new restaurant the food was NOT worth the wait. We will not be back.
