So I’ve been here for roll before and they were mediocre, the nori is a little chewy and the freshness of the fish is sometimes questionable. Today, however, all I wanted was a cup of miso soup, I walk in with cash in hand and placed my order for a cup of miso soup. The women at the counter looked at me like I asked for a cup of garbage she was so offended, she said«just a cup of soup? No!». So Maki if you don’t want my business for a cup of soup you won’t get my business, my family’s business, my friends business for anything else either. These people are increasingly nasty and do no business in the town that has supported them in Maki and Happy Farms for years!

Very nice owners who were accommodating to our order. Gave us a variety of sushi to try. Very fresh raw fish. The shrimp tempura roll was delicious! Give this place a try! We will be back.

As a preface, I am an avid sushi/sashimi lover. And this is HANDSDOWN the best sushi/sashimi I’ve ever had.(Bold statement, but it’s undeniably true) I would give this place 10 stars if I could. The woman behind the counter is a DELIGHT and so are the men making the sushi. Super friendly and kind, always smiling. Such a warm atmosphere to walk into. I call to place and order and I’ve seriously never had to wait more than 20 minutes, even for a huge platter. If you order a lot of it, be prepared for a take home platter(durable plastic) that is beautifully presented. I’ve never had such fresh, yummy sushi/sashimi. I’d recommend the Godzilla Roll, Viagra Roll, Volcano Roll, Huntington Roll, Spider Roll. Also, the salmon sashimi is melt-in-your-mouth type of good. It’s one of my favorite places, not just in Huntington, and I will always recommend it to anyone looking for really great sushi. Also, how cool that it’s take out only? I’ve never experienced that before. Definitely worth it to check out, you’ll be back for more. OH, also they are CLOSED on Tuesdays.

A terrific find and a great value! Fresh and delicious sushi — prepared quickly and ready to dive in to. We ordered the Special Maki Combo; the Spider Roll and Kims Roll were standouts. We will be back again and again until we try it all.

Woman behind the counter was extremely nice and extremely technology un-savvy. I’ve uploaded pictures of the menu for her. Enjoy! The food is delicious and reasonably priced(for sushi).

I found this place after Osaka had closed and having tried out every other sushi place in the area and it’s amazing. It’s a bit different because it’s strictly take-out /catering but thats not much of a problem. After hearing about this place I went with a friend and ordered all across the menu getting a ton of stuff. I must say that everything was AMAZING. The sashimi was definitely sooo fresh and the Miso soup delicious. I haven’t had a bad meal here yet and I’ve been several times.

This is my go-to sushi take-out place in Huntington. I really like their sushi, and they have a wide selection of rolls. They have some awesome drinks in there too. I would recommend the Huntington roll and the Mexican roll. The sushi chef is nice, and quick if you come in on the spot.

Always the only choice for me when I comes to sushi in Huntington! Take-out only but it’s worth it. Jin, the sushi chef, makes amazing fresh sushi. Recommend it any time!

Only problem is that it is not open all of the time! Fine sushi chefs working diligently to satisfy at this takeout only Sushi spot. The best presentation of take out Sushi available on Long Island! I really wish they did delivery.

A bit pricey but best sushi take-out in Huntington village. Miso soup and vegetable pancakes are also very tasty.

I LOVE this place. The fish is so fresh, the rolls always taste incredible and they have such a wide selection to choose from. I haven’t had much of the non-sushi items but there is a lot of that as well. Maki Sushi is my favorite in Huntington :-) Give it a try! One of my favorite rolls which I always order(it is so fresh) is the Naruto roll. It is a roll wrapped with cucmber instead of rice and seaweed and has avocado, tuna and salmon inside. So great!

As far as I can tell, the small shop is take out only, and they have a fax number for orders:(631) 935‑1459. They may deliver, but I didn’t check. Maki Sushi’s best quality is its very fresh fish and vegetables, so if that’s a deal breaker for you, you may want to try this place. My parents mentioned that this shop opened up a few weeks ago, so we picked up some tempura, some sushi rolls, and some nigirizushi. The tempura was for the parents. It was good, though it was a smidge underdone for all of our tastes. The shrimp tail didn’t crunch as well as it could have. Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the fish. The hamachi nigiri was cut a little too thick to melt in your mouth, but the fish itself tasted fantastic. Similarly, the fish in my rolls were both flavorful and beautiful. The rolls at Maki Sushi are pretty standard, but they do try a couple things. One roll I ordered, the Manhattan Roll, was a combination of smoked salmon, tuna, and cucumber. I was disappointed that the flavor of the smoked salmon was so light — I could barely taste the smokey flavor over the crunch of the cucumber and the strong tuna. Speaking of crunch, the vegetables I received in my rolls were the freshest I’ve had in a long time. The cucumber was pleasantly crunchy, the avocado creamy, and the mango sweet.(All of which was in the vegan Mango Roll. Even my mother, who dislikes sushi, enjoyed this one. It’s a light end to a meal.) I’m guessing delicious fresh vegetables and fruit is the consequence of Maki Sushi’s location, which is right next to a good vegetable shop. Overall, the meal we received was tasty, and we’ll likely order from here again when we want to eat Japanese food at home. As I’ve heard this shop is new, I hope Maki Sushi’s quality continues throughout the coming months.
