Came for sushi and was pleasantly surprised there was some good selection. I was not impressed at how slow they were to replenish the sushi once they ran out. Still, no bad for 10.50.

Your typical Chinese buffet. Good amount of options and the sushi is decent. Dinner section of items are better than at lunch.

We come here every Christmas Day and occasionally other times. This is my favorite Chinese buffet in Huntsville. Sushi is good, and the buffet items are fresh and hot. Everything is clean and well maintained, including the bathrooms. Service is attentive for drink refills and plate removal. Very kid friendly too. Overall a great choice for a buffet.

If I could rate his buffet zero stars, I would. Since that’s not an option, one star it is. The establishment is very clean and the food selection is amazing. However, there’s so much food to choose from it’s evident the establishment can’t keep the temperature of the food warm. Every item we tried was below temperature, cold, and chewy. The rice was hard and tasted bland. The only good foods were the salad and fruit which left the family deserving more.

Okay I’m writing this as truthful as i can… i went on Friday night at 7pm. I usually enjoy this restaurant very much(they have nice selection of food on the bars.) we had just gotten done with our typical run at food. sushi, soup, bar .when i pulled a napkin from the dispenser and very large pregnant cockroach came out of it. It proceeded to run across my arm and land on my plate of food. I quickly alerted our waiter who was standing 5 feet away. He quickly ran and got the manger and they comped the meal… now besides that the sushi was hot and not appetizing, the wonton soup was overly salty and the food was bland and dried. I need to stress this this was my favorite chines restaurant in the area. I drove 30 miles just to eat here. I will not return as i know as soon as i left they cleaned the table and sat another couple down at the table with the same dispenser… i warned them be fore i left.

For a buffett, I was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and delish the food is. The kimchee was amazing. My daughter was impressed with how well they kept things clean around the buffett.

Nice staff, plenty of seating, and great value but it’s surely not the highest quality food — but what else would one expect? They have 88 things on the menu! It’s the south — so expect extra wide chairs and to be getting a lesson in southerners filling their bodies with thousands of calories at a sitting. So don’t come here often if you’re trying to live into your 80s — but it’s a nice place to visit sometimes. Moderation people — everything in moderation!

It’s typical but has lots of variety for your Americanchinese eat all you can buffet. The sweet and sour chicken is nice and puffy. The fluorescent pink cakes there are kinda weird but somewhat tasty.

Very good food for the price. Yes… its a buffet, but the quality of food is very good. I really like getting the hibachi grill, worth the money! I will continue to eat here!

Not very impressed the last couple of times. I used to love going to this buffet. The prices are reasonable, its really close to our house, and the food used to be pretty good. But… the last couple of times, i’ve been very disappointed. Some of the food, such as the sesame chicken, was overcooked and dry., while other stuff was undercooked. I won’t be going back for awhile after the last couple of visits.

The food is very with a nice variety to choose from. Staff is nice and helpful. Fresh sushi made throughout the day and a hibachi bar where the cook the food for you.

There is a STUPID rumor going around Huntsville about a patron looking up while dining and seeing a rat walking along the rafters. I am here to put that to rest, as you cannot even SEE the rafters. It is a ridiculous typical small city rumor. Don’t be a follower and stay away because of an idiotic rumor. Every time I have been here the food(other than the sushi) has been really great. The sushi, is just so-so, not as fresh as it could be, but hey, this is a buffet, NOT a sushi bar.

While it seemed like I was entering a bowling alley(they could easily fit 12 lanes in this place) I received a nice, genuine«welcome» when I recently visited 88 Buffet on a chilly weeknight. The restaurant was probably 1⁄3 full so I was worried about the likelihood of enjoying fresh food from the huge buffet. Before I get too far into this review let’s remember we’re in Huntsville, Alabama and not Peking. I doubt that any Chinese buffet located in China, offers BBQ, a slice of pizza or some Mexican concoction. Unfortunately the Huntsville version offers each of those things and they are absolutely horrible. Stick with the vegetables and items that are obviously fresh… sesame chicken, chicken with broccoli and carefully selected sushi items. While no expert on the subject, I’d think your vegetarian friends might be able to navigate their way through the selections and leave somewhat satisfied. Close your meal with fruit versus the cookies/cakes…they are tasteless and so obviously soggy from being defrosted. So, lunch or dinner at 88 Buffet is an inexpensive venture where you could spend 2 hours trying different foods. Service is spotty and, based on the staff I encountered, Spanish is a very popular language in China. It is what it is and it’s good enough for a «3.» If you’re looking for authentic Chinese I’d recommend calling a travel agent. If you want a filling meal for a low price, stop by the bowling alley… I mean 88 Buffet.

It’s ok. They have the largest selection from what I’ve seen, but honestly if you want quality Asian cuisine, don’t bother with a buffet. It’s hit or miss. We go here about once a year. It’s quick and you’ll surely find something you like, but odds are you won’t like everything you put on your plate. This place is huge, so it’s pretty noisy, and it can be tricky maneuvering between one section and the next. Parking sucks, so be prepared for a hike and if you find a close spot, consider yourself lucky. Service is standard for a buffet. It’s the only Chinese buffet I’d recommend in the area, but that’s not really saying a whole lot.

Used to come here regularly till tonight. My partner and myself got attitude from the hostess at the door when she walked up. Another walked in and the ignored us and went to seat them first. This really irked us and we left. It is not worth the price of food there and the OK quality that our is to put up with that type of attitude.

I’ve tried a lot of Chinese buffets over the years, but 88 Buffet has to be the best I’ve tried. The selection us large and includes a wide variety of both Chinese and American choices. For me, the real stars are the hibachi grill and the sushi bar. The grill features a variety of fresh ingredients which are cooked as you wait. While the sushi bar may not measure up to the offerings of an upscale Japanese restaurant, they do include a variety of fresh fish and are made in front of you by the sushi chefs(no packaged sushi here). All I all I find 88 Buffet a great place to stop for a quick, filling and tasty dinner after work, or on a busy weekend.

I give ‘em three and a half overall. Big parking lot has plenty of room to park a pickup truck with an RV trailer. Buffet has a large selection of very good food. Service was very good, except that our waitress was in a bit of a hurry for us to pay her. I joke that I base my expectations of a Chinese restaurant on how good their goldfish look out front. The goldfish tanks were empty today, so maybe that’s not the best omen. However, there were plenty of customers at lunch. There was no panhandler in the parking lot today. The restroom entrance doors do need repainting.

Soooo… I like Chinese food but hate vermin… I ate here not knowing about the rat problem… luckily I stuck to shrimp and the hibachi grill in the back. The restaurant seemed clean and the food was typical Westernized Chinese. You know, high fructose corn syrup drenched fried chicken with green beans and bland egg rolls. They do serve sushi, but I don’t touch buffet sushi. I just can’t. I always wonder how long it’s been sitting there and if the other patrons put pieces back after they’ve changed their minds about eating it. The best thing at 88 Buffet is the hibachi grill, hands down. Sad to say that I won’t be back ever, but I never had a sub-par experience here.
