My worst salon experience in recent memory. From the time you walk in it is upsell, upsell, upsell. Here’s our salon gift shop! Here’s our product lines! You need this! Buy that! And I really could care less about the salon tour — such a waste of time. My actual hair cut was just okay, nothing great. Not a relaxing experience at all, I was so turned off by the let-me-sell-you this atmosphere.

I walked in the salon for an haircut. I clearly specified what kind of haircut i want and i also showed her reference picture but the stylist looked very unsure of her skills and capability. Her very first expression made me doubt but ofcourse it was too late to walk out. I was not at all satisfied with her work. They are on a bit expensive side too.

Went here despite the bad reviews. I didn’t get what I paid for. Wanted a deep condition and flat iron. I tried a new steam iron contraption should have sticked with the flat iron. The same day my hair was poofy. No good for the $ 70 + I paid. I’m ganna look for another salon.

The stylists are definitely not as good as I thought they were… When we first moved here, I went to this salon. The first stylist that I tried did an okay job, not good, but not bad either. I gave her a couple more chances before I tried someone else. The second stylist I tried, did a great job the first time, but after that went downhill and did a lousy job after that. Also… their prices went up. There quality of service and cuts went down, but the prices went up! Needless to say, I don’t think that I will be going to this salon anymore. I am currently looking for another salon.

Having just recently relocated from Silicon Valley I was determined to find a comparable salon in a small town. Salon Allure had a lot of great reviews. I was lucky when I called because there happened to be a cancellation the next day that provided me with an opportunity to see Paula. Wow, I walked out of that salon with the best haircut I have ever had. From the minute I walked into the salon, I was greeted with a friendly face. The receptionist gave me a tour of the salon and a goody bag. I was seated for about 3 minutes and was greeted by Brittany who consulted with me about what style I was looking for. Shortly after I was greeted by Paula who really took the time to understand what I was looking for. I was in bad need of a root touch up and wanted to cut a few inches from my long A-line. What I got was a perfect cut and color. My whole experience in this salon was amazing and I want to thank Paula and her whole team for making my experience so great.

All I have to say is that when you tell a stylist that you wear your hair in it’s naturally curly state and the next words out of their mouth is «Do you want a blow out?» You should run and find someone who has respect for natural hair.

LOVELOVELOVE this place! And Kim! I am a recent transplant to Huntsville. I lived in New Jersey and went to school in DC. I care A LOT about my hair, probably too much(it’s a New Jersey thing). During college I would drive home to NJ to get it cut by my stylist. While I’ve always liked my hair’s color and cut, I’ve never loved it as much as I do now. I go in every six weeks for highlights and a cut with Kim. When I went home for Christmas break my mother, who is always concerned about my hair, told me how much she loved my color. My housemates and my students(I teach 7th grade) always tell me how great they think my hair looks. The color is natural and bright. I’ve never been happier. I highly recommend Kim! I’ve been going to her for 6 months and she is so sweet and helpful. She always gives me product recommendations, but never ever makes me feel pressured. Today she really went above and beyond! I told her I wanted to get my gel nail polish off and she took it off for me while my color was processing. The salon is being renovated right now and I can tell that the owner truly cares about her business and has a ton of talent. Every time I walk out of the salon I am literally bouncing with joy and I get tons of compliments on my hair. I’ve never gotten any of their services, but I will be getting my free brow wax when my birthday month rolls around! I recommend Kim to everyone who asks, and I highly suggest her and this salon. If you are looking for a great salon, with great staff, and lots of talent, Salon Allure is your place.

Went in to touch up my roots and get a trim and I will NOT be going back. For starters the girl I was paired with could not match my hair color and I ended up with some brassy yellow color instead of the white-blonde other salons seem to be able to match. Also, her cutting skills left something to be desired. Wasn’t a lemon of a haircut but it wasn’t what I’m used to(and granted, I’m used to Toni & Guy cuts). What is a really BIG problem is that where she applied that icky yellow dye/toner/whatever, now will not take color very well. My hair, while bleached out, is very healthy(the new salon I go to was very impressed with it’s strength) and I’ve since had the roots touched up again(and they could match the white blonde with no problem) and dyed and it now looks very patchy and like the color is months old over where that girl dyed my hair. I don’t know what she did to it, but I’m not happy and will not be going back. Now I will say, this is partly my fault because at the beginning she did say she would«try» to match my color. To be honest, I should have just gotten the cut done and color touched up somewhere else. I rolled the dice with my hair color and paid for it. This is probably a good salon for you if you’re not ultra picky about your hair, but I am and now I’m going to have a hard time trusting any other hairstylist ever again. *************************************************************************** After the owner contacted me, I’ve amended my review to include the following: *************************************************************************** Found a business card from this place and promptly lost it again, but the first name on the card was Courtney. So if you’re determined to go to this salon, just avoid her I guess. I can appreciate the business owner trying to contact me in regards to worrying about her business. What I CANNOT appreciate is the fact that she tried to **guilt** me into giving this salon a better rating. My review is fair and I stand by it. They messed up my hair and I WILLNOT be coming back nor recommending this salon to anyone, especially after the owner talked down to me on the phone. I can understand she would try anything to save her business(including looking me up on the internet and hunting me down which I found VERY unprofessional and severely creepy) and she even gave me some good advice(such as contacting the owner before reviewing it online with a less than stellar rating) but I will not be manipulated into changing my rating because someone tried to make me feel bad about leaving an HONESTREVIEW. On Google there seems to have been an outburst of good reviews for this salon, and if they’re authentic then good for them! However I do have some suspicions as to the sudden abundance of good reviews only after I had posted my negative but fair one. TLDR: They(specifically Courtney) messed up my hair. I won’t be going back. The owner tried to guilt me into giving her salon a better review than it deserved from me and I don’t appreciate it.
