Had some pretty good turkish ice cream, didn’t have time to get anything else, but I’ll definitely stop by next time! The service was pretty good. Update: I last visited this store a while back, but apparently it’s been closed since January.

I’m only giving this a 3-star because I have never tried this type of food before and I can’t compare it to another. I wanted to give it a 2-star though because I probably won’t be back. I thought it was too pricey for what it is… I devoured it quickly and afterwards I was like… what? For real? Did i just pay $ 7 bucks for that? I’m still hungry… Now, like I said, I can’t compare it to another place but it felt skimpy. Tasty but not enough. I ordered a dessert too and I forgot what it was called but it was like a baklava and that was good. Unfortunately, I probably most likely will not be back.

What the hell just happened? This dining experience was comical nonetheless. The oven cooked the meat but the bread was warm PLEASE… do not take advantage of Quail Hills resident/locals. Lahmacun or Lehme’ ba’jeen is not prepared this way. To skim your customers with sprinkled meat on hard bread is bad business… especially for 6.99 plus. I had the doner chicken and ground beef. I was so embarrassed that I was raving to my friend how great these Levantine Pizza are… and as they came out… it was a joke. The young kid behind the counter seemed nice but probably get scold at often by the owner because the way he prepares your wraps, he looks scurrrred and was too cheap. Toppings: You get to pick between cheese, lettuce, olives and parsley… and 3 different types of floating pickles. The owners need to drive down Little Arabia(Brookhurst and Anaheim) and see why it’s cracking… full house from opening to closing and you actually see meat in your sandwich. And if you’re going to use sauce… please use real yogurt and real hummus… the consistency of yogurt was milk and the hummus just wasn’t right… seemed fresh out of the can? To sum it up, it was a Turkish/Arab Subway, but a ¼ of the fillings…

wraps are delicious, but messy as fuck. imagine if your room got hit by a hurricane full of septic tank waste? it won’t be as messy as these wraps. the pita itself just can’t hold any moisture, so it leaks everywhere!!! Protip: do not eat in your car. the pita wrap itself was good. you can taste the freshness. i felt like i was eating a part of jesus himself. so delicious. they hand make it right in front of you. the chicken and the beef come in this weird pâté. i thought the wraps would come with real pieces of meat, but NOPE. i guess it saves room for the veggies. they have Turkish desserts too. i heard the cheesecake is pretty good. PS: if you check in, you get a drink for freeeeee. and free is my favorite number! =]

I was driving up from San Diego to LA and stopped at a random exit in Irvine to get some food with my mom and younger brother. We decided on Wraps Xpress, and it was the best decision ever! The name is really misleading, as I expected wraps/sandwiches in an American sense. Wraps Xpress instead, serves up ‘street’ Turkish wraps. I had a wrap with lamb/beef shwarma type meat in it, and my mom had the spinach and feta wrap. They’re slowly cooked and then you can top it with a variety of veggies and sauces. The hummus and house sauce here were both amazing. Additionally, the service was top notch! For checking in we got a free turkish coffee, and it was excellent. They also gave us free lemonades, and the owner came in and checked on us a few times. I wish I lived in Irvine, because if I did I’d be here all the time!

Updating the review because wow, is the owner ever generous with samples! The past two times we’ve come here for lunch, not only was the food excellent, but we also got samples of the kunafe. Kunafe is a little cake made out of cheese and finely shredded dough, with a sprinkling of chopped pistachio on top. It’s perfectly crispy and sweet, without being too sweet. There were also some samples of Turkish coffee being passed around, but not being a coffee drinker, I didn’t try it. There are not quite as many toppings available as there used to be, but I think they get switched up now and then. If you don’t know what to put on your wrap, just ask the owner for his suggestion and he’ll tell you what goes well with whatever you ordered. I highly recommend the hot sauce – don’t worry, fellow wimps, it’s not very hot!

Some damn good flavor in the heart of Irvine. The wraps are crisp and light while just filling enough to feel like you ate something exotic. It’s between Starbucks and the Bacchus location at the Quail Hill Shopping Center. Great for lunch with co-workers. The owner is a really nice guy. It’s whole-in-the wall flavor in an upscale neighborhood shopping center.

Medium-to-slow service, tasty samples while I waited, and all an overall yum to the food. The name though. .. kinda lame. The letter ‘X’ is so 90’s.

Went to Wraps Xpress for the first time on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. My wife and I had one wrap each: I had the Doner wrap and the wife nabbed a Chicken wrap. I got hummus, yogurt, shredded cheese, and lettuce on mine. I was disappointed with the options here, as I’m not a big fan of pepperoncinis and wanted to add more substance to mine, to make it more like a proper wrap or burrito. Rice, crumbly cheese, something more substantial to add to the mix would have helped. To my surprise, the wraps were very tasty, though not very filling. The toasted bread had a satisfyingly crispy/chewy texture to it. My wife and I agreed that you’d need to eat two if you were hungry. The meat portion in particular was very disappointing. There was barely any Doner in my Doner wrap. Still, the flavors were pleasant and we came away mostly pleased. The Pistachio Burma dessert was a delicious bonus. Recommended. The seating in this location is sparse and cramped, but the service was prompt, friendly, and helpful. The color scheme and décor are a little off-putting as well. It looks like a Juice it Up or Subway instead of a Turkish restaurant. Even if you disregard the awful decision to spell«Xpress» without the E, labeling these tasty treats as wraps is just misleading. Still, the food is enough to try when you want something different from your standard go-to lunch solutions. We’ll go again, but only when we’re not starving. Would get 4 stars if we were only reviewing the meal on its taste. Larger portions of the wrap filling would make it amazing.

Cheap. Not really fast… but GOOD. They can take your order quickly and prepare your wrap quickly, but they have ONE oven that your dough goes through and its sort of like a mini pizza, so it can get backed up and take a while. The food itself is fresh, light, probably healthier than many alternatives, and CHEAP. A good spot for lunch or a cheap and light dinner, BUT try your best to avoid the lunch rush. And there isn’t much of an area to sit, at least not comfortably anyhow.

I came upon this place on my way back to work. The plan was to get something to go and eat it back in my office. I failed miserably but for good reason. So i walk in expecting a menu consisting of very healthy foods. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was Turkish food. The employee was very friendly and helpful with my order. I opted for the Boner Kebab wrap. I thought my order was complete but i was wrong. You get even more choices as to what toppings and sauce go into your wrap. Sweet. The setup kind of reminded me of Subway where you pick out your veggies. I went with lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. Next up was choosing the sauce. Plenty of choices here but i immediately went for the hummus. So my wrap is complete and off i go… I hop in my car and was about to drive off but i decided to take a bite of the wrap first. I take one bite and… wow. It was simply delicious. It was so good i literally moaned out loud. One bite turned into two. Two bites turned into completely finishing it. How could i tease my taste buds with just one bite? So about 15mins later and my stomach full of joy, i finally hit the road. nom nom nom By the way, the Turkish Coffee is no joke. Just a single shot had me wired.

First thing that struck me about the restaurant was how empty it was at 5:00PM. The two of us walked in and it took around 15 seconds for the one employee in the back room to figure out someone had walked in and come out to greet us. He claimed«everything is made fresh,» but my doner kebab wrap was made with refrigerated pre-prepared doner meat strips(not carved fresh). All the vegetables were floating in some kind of water, the yogurt sauce had the consistency of whole milk(I didn’t end up eating any based on its mysterious texture). There’s also no soda fountain; it’s bottled drinks or nothing. One pet peeve was that the employee kept trying to up-sell us on upgrades and additional items the whole time we were in there, even though we made it clear we only wanted two standard wraps to go. This place was just alright — 2 stars is a good fit. It will be gone in a few months as the crushing weight of Irvine company rent pushes them under.

I am sorry, but Wraps Xpress is way overrated and someone needs to inject some level sanity into the list of reviews. The first thing you notice about the place, its like a Juice It Up but they serve food. Not that I am overly critical about the décor on a fast food joint because it is what it is, but it just made me laugh. The place appears to be a privately owned and it would have been better not to pass themselves off as a Subway knock off with wraps. I ordered the Doner Kebab wrap and its kind of bleh. First, if your your going to call it a Doner Kebab, you actually have to have some meat in the wrap. Yes, it did have meat, but microbe size scraps of meat in my opinion doesn’t really constitute a meal. Second, they put it through that machine that is suppose to make the mother f’er hot, but the wrap was just cold. Finally, when you really look at the wrap, its just a piece of bread with a condiment slathered on the top of it. Is the food inexpensive? Yes. Is the food healthy? Yes, because when you cut back on the food portion in food, by definition it has to be healthier. Is the food any good? I got to say no. It isn’t the most terrible thing I have ever eaten, but strictly talking about flavor and taste… its a fail in my book. They are relatively new and maybe they might improve, but for now its a 2 star.

Turkish Wraps? I’m SOLD! *Drive in a hurry during lunch hour to Quail Hill* *Ugh terrible parking during lunch* *Order* *Wait a while, everything is made to order except for their desserts* *Watch this awesome looking flatbread(like a pizza!) come through the oven* *Turkish(?) man nicely folds the flatbread thingy and calls out«1DONERKEBAB!”* *Huge smile on my face, «That’s me!”* *Turkish man asks«What would you like on this? I recommend our Chipotle House Sauce!» *Ok, give me that and add lettuce. Hummus on the side please* *Turkish man says«Good choice!* *I faithfully take pics for Unilocal* *EAT!!* I JUST ate lunch here and am so happy to write this review. My stuffed belly waves hello too… haha :P …I’m not well-seasoned in Turkish food or drink but that doesn’t matter because this place serves flavorful and thoughtful food! So I got the Doner Kebab Wrap and Pistachio Burma. What’s Doner you ask? Yeah, I didn’t exactly know either so I looked it up to make sure: — It’s basically lamb meat and the stuff that is in Gyros! Traditionally, it is not a lot of meat served, so just FYI. I guess now that I think about it, I see it! Soooo good… drool…I was almost upset when my wrap was all finished. I kind of wanted to taste more of it! I was pleasantly surprised by the dessert — Pistachio Burma. I’ve never tried this before. It looks like this cute little log. The closest thing I can think of to what Burma is like is Baklava… which is Turkish according to Wikipedia but stretches out to Greek/Lebanese/Persian etc. Yeah, I don’t know what it really is but who cares if it’s good! I AMDEFINITELY coming back here! I wanna try the Zaa’tar wrap next. Happy happy joy joy~~~

What an awesome cheap eat. And better yet, I love that the recommended wrap was a vegetarian one. Many Unilocalers and even the server recommended the spinach wrap over all the other varieties(doner, beef, chicken, cheese, labne, zaatar). Quick tangent to define the variteties: Doner — lamb meat Labne — yogurt cheese Zaatar — mix of Middle Eastern herbs Anyway, my friends and I had just come from brunch and we weren’t quite hungry for lunch but this place was on our foodie itinerary for the day. Three girls split one wrap and it was enough. Not that the wrap is enormous, but I would say that maybe 2⁄3 of the wrap is a good meal for me if I came hungry. The wrap looks more like a pizza at first. They prepare and flatten out some fresh dough, top it off with the main ingredients(spinach and feta cheese in this case) and it goes on this conveyor belt oven. Five minutes later, it pops out the other end of the oven and then it’s kinda like Subway sandwiches after that. The server will ask you what additional toppings you want on your pizza before he rolls it up into a wrap. I didn’t add too much, just lettuce, pepperoncinis, and hummus. He rolls it up into a wrap, or more like folds the pizza on itself in thirds and voila… you got a Turkish wrap. We also tried a pistachio burma(very similar to baklava, if not the same thing)… didn’t taste like anything special… just really rich on the butter and syrup between all the phyllo layers. But if I was in the area again, I wouldn’t mind dropping in again for a quick cheap eat.

Fresh, yummy and interesting flavors. The antidote to fast-food chain restaurants, we had an excellent lunch here. We ordered the ground chicken for one wrap, which is flavored up with some kind of sauce and seasonings, spread on the dough which is what qualifies as the«wrap,» and run through the oven. When it comes out the owner walked me through what should be selected for topping — a little cheese, a little parsley, some balsamic sauce, some yogurt sauce — then the wrap was folded, some fresh hummus offered on the side. Warm and delicious. The second wrap was an herby-lemony spread. Again, toppings selected, hummus offered. Be prepared to wait about 5 minutes for your wrap, or more depending on how busy they are. Well worth the wait for fresh food.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm… The wraps here are soooooo goooooood. My sister used to work at a Turkish restaurant back in her early college career — i spent so many days at that restaurant eating doner kabobs and lahmacun, its been hard to find a place that did it right but these guys nailed it. The doner(the meat silly!) is well prepared, perfectly cooked, seasoned just right and is tender and flavorful. Lahmacun is like a little pizza, with the herbs and sauce all baked in there(im used to ones with ground lamb on it served as the entrée itself). Then they combine the two of them and make a wrap. Oh is it good. This is not a burrito, this is literally like a little pizza wrapped up around pieces of the delicious doner with just the right amount of herbs, sauce and onion to make the flavors all pop. The first time my sister and i got food from here we just split a wrap and honestly that was good enough for us, filled us both up and was delicious. but we have learned that we want more later and so now we each get our own wrap. I’m thinking about the other half of mine in the fridge right now… mmmmm I like it with extra onions and lettuce on it.(Tried it with cheese most recently, it doesnt need cheese) fresh, flavorful ingredients. An approachable take on middle-eastern food that utilizes the convenience of a wrap –perfect for your lunch break-without sacrificing the taste or quality of the food. I will definitely be back!(or send my sister back, haha).

Think of Quiznos with their oven … Now think of Pappa Johns with the fresh dough kind of thing… Now think of whole some choice or hen grill — with minced/ground seasoned meat fillings… Wrap Express combines these all into a ‘wrap experience’ They have fresh dough, made into like pita bread kind of consistancy(the bread tastes much fresh and softer than a pita bread would), smothered with chicken/beef/spinach toppings. the meat is ground meat seasoned with middle eastern spices and such and sent through the oven thing on side and when it comes out(after 5mins ?), its baked into a nice bread/pizza like thing. They ahve fillings to go on it now. with cheese(regular mexican cheese you see at the mexican store — nothing fancy!), parsley, jalapeño peppers, olives, hummus, and yogur sauce goes on the side. They have the wrap x yogurt/hot sauce. So when I saw it it just seemed alright, but when i brought the food home, and had a bite, it was really tasty. I dont mind eating it again. I think its a cool concept, but the fillings department can be little more elaborate with more choices of different olives/different cheeses/produces may be/cucumber?hello!!. I think its a family run. The boy that was taking order might be the son of the owner. In anycase, its a nice concept, i hope it picksup. But for now, I am glad i tried it, and I dont know if I will go back again, or when.

Don’t let them calling it a «wrap» fool you. This is not a wrap that you would traditionally think of with a thin soft tortilla holding in meat/cheese/veg. This is a fresh baked thin soft bread, baked with chicken, beef, or spinach. As another poster commented, there are not big pieces of chicken. This is the style of it, the chicken is ground and seasoned into more of a paste spread and baked on top of the bread. When it’s out of the oven they’ll top it with your choice of toppings like cheese, lettuce, yogurt. The place did open just 3 weeks ago, and the owner is obviously very excited by and proud of his business. He engaged his customers(including myself) explaining the concept of the style of wrap, encouraging them to watch other wraps being made before placing the order, and also handing out free samples of the bread. I ordered mine and sat outside at the tables, and was very impressed! As I walked past again, the owner asked me what I thought and was so happy to hear that I enjoyed it and would definitely be back. Great to see a small local business open up, and I wish him the best of luck here!

This place serves Turkish style wraps(like a folded pizza) that they make fresh in front on you. You can chose between different meats and cheeses and toppings like veggies yogurt and humus. It’s something I’ve never had before but it was really awesome! 6 bucks may seem a little expensive for one wrap but they are actually really filling and worth it because they’re so fresh. I got home and I was already craving more! Also I recommend eating there or soon after you get one, because they’re best when they give them to you hot out of the oven. They also have desserts like baklava and I tried the cinnamon one and it was really tasty!
