I visited here couple of times and the one thing common was the Lonnnnnnnnnnnnggg wait for the order to be served. the food was ready and kept on the counter but the waiter(who vanished somewhere) forgot to serve it to us. We told them that the food was cold and all they said was sorry. Even today when i was there the food came out after longg time and the quesadillas were cold. The good things though — chips are so fresh and salsas are to die for. Fajita sizzlers are just too good and melts in your mouth.

Delicious! This location is my go-to Taco Diner. I always order the Los Cabos salad. It’s so tasty. Staff is always welcoming and consistent with good customer service.

We had dinner here on a Saturday night and the place was half empty. Despite this, it took us a while to get seated because they were short on wait staff. The food was lukewarm an the portion size was small. The drinks were pretty good. I had the Mexican punch.

I go here for their Mambo Taxi. I enjoyed their tacos so much i had to order some to take him! I go here on Tuesdays when the place is packed with people. Fast service, and super friendly staff!

Ok, I’m in the industry and have been for nearly 2 decades. I understand being busy and I, more than anyone, give servers an immense amount of latitude when they are slammed. That being said… Can you give 0 stars? I mean… Table of 10 for happy hour, empty waters, empty drinks, service is nonexistent! Got up to talk to the manager to please have the server come by and take care of his table.(will update with names). Manager said yes and we still waited another 10 minutes to get drinks, and even then the server took drink orders for 3 people and then left. Manager did not help to service the table even after a guest specifically brought it to his attention that we were being neglected. Everyone loves a Mambo Taxi but give me a freaking break! Don’t come if it’s busy.

First experience was good but they are very inefficient at busy times. Apparently if you make nice with the hostess you get to get sat earlier. I guess I need to work on my Spanish.

One of my favorite spots to hang with friends on Friday after work for Happy Hour! $ 5 Mambo Taxi and Mango Margs plus the chicken quesadillas are some of the best and The DJ gets it pop’n around 7-ish.

They’ve gone way downhill in terms of food and drink quality. The salsa here sucks and the drink selection for ‘on the rocks drinks’ is very limited. The best thing is the chicken in their chicken enchiladas was really good and seasoned well. Other than that, crappy everything. I was embarrassed because I tried to turn others on to this place. They were unimpressed and just as disappointed as I was

Since my last review they apparently changed the menu… according to them it was done 3 months ago but I was just there 1 month ago and it was the same… I’m not happy with the new changes its less food for the same price even the free chips they give you is a smaller portion… my meal usually comes with rice, peco, beans and guacamole… now the tacos come already put together stuffed with a TON of onion and just the meat and only 1 side… my husband and I ordered a side of sour cream and beans which were very small and they charged us $ 2 for each… we’re not happy at all and this is very disappointing because this was one of our favorite places… we won’t be coming back

Delicious food, fast lunch service. Wish I had been able to try the drinks but I had to make it back to work! I will come back and try some more food. We had 2 kinds of tacos. My shrimp ones were great and my friend had the briscit– she made yummy noises. Downside– parking is a BI**H anywhere in this lot between 5pm-7pm on weekdays.

Service is amazing! The staff is extremely engaged and you can tell. The waiter and manager are highly alert unlike many similar establishments. Full stars for that. I got the brisket enchiladas. The last few places I’ve had enchiladas, I was displeased with. This time was no exception due to the fact that my meal was microwaved. This isn’t a typical microwaved meal. No, this was microwaved at least two times. I could tell due to the crunchiness of the tortilla that wasn’t covered by sauce. With that said, don’t forget Irving doesn’t offer many options!

We came after dinner for some mambo taxi’s. It was my first time trying a mambo taxi. It is pretty strong! The waiter added some more syrup to make it a little sweeter for me. Also the kitchen ran out of food tonight! So they gave us guacamole on the house tonight! The waiter was very apologetic and kind to us. We didn’t want or need any food though. Anyway it is a good night!

A friend of mine loves this place and to me it’s okay. It’s never on my list places I have to go to. We went on a Saturday and it wasn’t crowded at all, although my friend had reserved space for 12 for her birthday dinner. I always compare it to Mi Cocina and I know it’s the smaller version the amount of dishes on the menu is underwhelming. It seems like everyone order the same thing the Crunchy Chicken enchiladas which are really flautas. They were tasty and the service was good. I’ll return I’m sure but next time I’ll order the Los Cabos or nachos they seem to do a better job at those. I had a regular margarita which was good I do agree with another review they do seem to water their drinks down a bit. It was a good night for my friend and I wouldn’t talk anyone out of going there if that is where they wanted to go. I would avoid the tacos they are overpriced.

Ok. I’m hooked for tacos. I always liked them but I didn’t know I would have I would visit taco spots more than once a day. Anyway, Taco Diner is definitely a good spot to check out. I had 2 of their drinks: Mexican Taxi & Mexican Punch. The first was frozen, I fruity. Also the punch, just sent frozen. Both were very good. I tried their Chicken Al Pastor &BBQ Pulled Pork tacos. The chicken was marinated in citrus along with being topped off with pineapple. A very fresh taste. The pulled pork was good as well. I enjoyed the bbq sauce. Their sauces/salsas are pretty good as well. The rice was perfect.

Came here with my friend. I love the patio outside and the inside is pretty comfortable. It’s mainly white or light cream I’d say, and it’s kind of cool. The food is alright, nothing that great. I tried the Mambo taxi and it was pretty good. Love love the music though.

Great food. Good service. Nice, clean restaurant. What more can you say??? They have a patio for outside dinning on those nice, summer days. Or cozy indoor dining for the hot summer days of August.

Oh taco diner, how I loathe thee but seem to always find my way back here. I’ve had and tried many of their entrees and they are just ok. Nothing too fancy or over the top. My favorite favorite thing to get here is the Chicken nachos. Probably hands down the best thing here and enough to eat as an entrée or share as an appitizer with friends. Service at this location is friendly but very inattentive. I seem to always be waving down the waiters for service. Mambo taxis are cheap I think $ 5. It takes about to 3 – 4 to get your mind boggling. Sometimes during happy hour they will bring in a DJ to play loud dance music. Which if I’m with my friends I don’t mind at all. Enjoy.

If you want a nicer atmosphere for Mexican food, this is your place. I still prefer Tacolicious but if you’re on MacArthur and want a bit nicer place compared to Fuzzy’s, this is a good option. VENUE: Located in the MacArther Plaza near The Ranch and BlueFish, it’s isolated but during the lunch rush you’ll find it equally difficult to find a parking spot. So diners, beware! Seating both outdoors and inside. Patio seems nice and there’s adequate seating indoors. Bar only has 6 stools so if you’re in a rush to dine, opt for the bar if you can. There are TVs around for those of you need something to watch during your meal. Bright and busy, came during the lunch rush and was packed. FOOD: Got the four tacos for $ 10 — two al pastor and two pulled pork. SORELYDISAPPOINTED in the al pastor. Very dry and not very flavorful. The pulled pork however, was surprisingly very good. Sweet and tangy bbq sauce coats tender shreds of pork and theres a sizable amount for the size of the tortilla(maybe 4−5in diameter?). Came with onions and cilantro with some shredded lettuce and about a halfcup of rice. Rice was nice and soft and added a nice neutral taste to the overall meal while still maintaining a good amount of flavor. CHIPS&SALSA&QUESO: I feel like you can always tell a lot about a Mexican/TexMex restaurant by its Chips and Salsa and Queso. Their CHIPS are awesome. Not too thin and just the right amount of salt. I could eat them for days. I ended up taking home some in my togo box. Their red salsa however was also lacking. A bit watery and kind of weird sweet — not for me. Their green«salsa» was pretty good though. And i put«salsa» in quotes because it was more of a purée. Super good. And their queso was awesome. Stayed warm and soupy the whole meal — not super thick which made me feel less guilty for eating so much and they put ground beef in it and some seasoning. Yum. SERVICE: Sitting at the bar means you share your server/bartender with people who order drinks. I think with the rush she forgot to put in our order so we got our food a little bit later than those around us who ordered at the same time as we did but I can forgive that. Our server was courteous and kept our waters full.

I still have not figured out the hype about Taco Diner. They do have a nice little patio for outside seating that includes fans to cool us off. Another positive is the tasty salsa they serve. Each time we have been, the service is horrible. Slow, non-existent. I hate having to wave down employees just to get a drink refill or even place an order. Either they don’t employee enough people or the wait staff just doesn’t care. The food is, as some say, «meh.» I think we have tried all of the veg options(not too difficult) and we haven’t been impressed. Not to mention, it takes a long time to receive the food and is not hot when it does arrive.

Great food, awesome service, and perfect for a quick lunch trip. My favorite dish is their Los Cabos salad. They also have great chile con queso, and someday I want to order a Mambo Taxi there because I love them at Mi Cocina!
