The set up and ambiance was fantastic! True small business vibe and the décor was great. Seemed like a locals spot, which we were looking for. LOVETHEBAR! Nice and clean too. They have a great outdoor seating section, comfortably lit. Oysters were delicious, not a grain of sand. Jambalaya was amazing! Will be back for sure.

Every dish was fantastic! Highlights were the clam chowder, calamari and of course the oysters. Really great ambiance as the entire restaurant is well done.

Stopped in for dinner here last Saturday 2⁄20 at about 7pm and it was poppin! We waited at about 15 minutes for the first available table which happened to be outside. While we waited we were given all of the menus to review while we waited on the table. It was pretty cool and breezy outside so it was really nice that they had those huge lamp like propane heaters. It definitely would have been too cold with out them. We were greeted promptly and and gave our drink orders. We went with a few of their martinis and waters. The martinis were tasty. And ordered tuna tacos for the appetizer. This was definitely my favorite dish! I would eat these all day. The tuna was on a bed of this delicious Asian coleslaw and crispy wonton chips with wasabi mayo drizzled. Yummmmmm! While we are having out appetizer our propane tank went out on our heater. Another server was walking by and we asked him to check it and he was very helpful and willing to do so. It was out and he notified the manager promptly and had the manager come out within a minute or two and we were back in action. But… Here’s the hang up. It took foreverrrrrr after the appetizer was done to get our entrees… the outside staff seemed to disappear for a bit which was strange. But, we were all talking, yet it seemed to be a really while before the entrees arrived. I would have to say close to 20 – 30 minutes. Pretty sure the food was sitting and waiting for a bit of time. Anyway, For dinner I went with the oyster po-boy. It was good and the oysters were plentiful. They didn’t skimp of those or the LTO. I tried everyone else’s dishes and they were also very tasty. I do have to say one thing about the PO-boy which I told our server. The roll was horrible. It basically disintegrated as I tried to pick it up. It was not a sturdy enough vessel to transport the oysters. Once I picked it up I was very hesitant to put it down. I eventually had to and I was stuck finishing it with my fork. So, do yourselves a favor and get a sturdier roll. Overall, the outside ambience with the café lights and heat lanterns was very nice and had a nice dining experience.

Tonight we enjoyed a great meal here. We ordered a pan fried grouper and grilled sea scallops. Both were prepared just right & we were served hearty portions of each. We shared an appetizer of clams on the half shell that were fresh an sweet. I’m fussy about my cocktails and my Tangeray martini was well chilled. The service was very efficient and cordial. We really liked the place and plan to return. Be warned: they take no reservations so be prepared to wait. — BUD R., Warwick, NY

Been to The Magic Oyster twice in the last ten days and love this place! Great food and drinks, beachy atmosphere and fabulous service. Cheryl was our server on our first visit and she was wonderful. Michael, our server on our second visit was attentive, professional and very knowledgeable about the area. The manager, Randy is a great asset to The Magic Oyster! We’ll be back again and again!

Went here the other night. Pretty loud crowd. We were seated right away with no reservations. It was very good. Crab bisque was excellent. They even offer to put sherry in it if you like. Oysters on the half shell were excellent. We had horseradish crusted grouper, king crab legs and seared tuna. Everyone really enjoyed it. No bread on the table unless you ask. Who needs it anyway? Big portions no room for dessert. Service was outstanding. Cheryl our server was great!

Based solely on the Unilocal reviews and the Marriott concerige recommendation(which is right across the street) I was really excited to eat at the Magic Oyster Bar. I was so disappointed! I took a seat on their outside patio dining area. I waiting for 10min. and no one came to take my order. I finally went inside the restaurant and ask if someone can take my order. The waiters response was, «if you are going to sit outside then the service is not going to be good» …REALLY? This is by far my favorite spot to eat on the island. This was my 3rd visit. The calm chowder is incredible. I ordered one of their special scallop dishes with truffle oil and it was amazing. Don’t eat outside though. We were warned and given bug spray but all of us were scratching throughout dinner.

Jus finished dinner here and it was great! Shared the bam bam shrimp app which was tangy & delicious. Beet & goat cheese salad was solid to start and the scallops were awesome– the truffle sauce was spectacular! Also tried someone’s clam chowder which was very thick and tasty. The person having it said it was the best clam chowder they ever had!

Came here on a Monday night and found the place jamming. Very friendly hostess told us the wait(it was shorter) and we grabbed a seat near the bar. The bartender came over right away and we got some exciting tropical drinks that were delicious. We got a tables very short time later and our waiter David came right over. We ordered a bottle of wine right away and our dinners. Our salads came out quickly and they were delicious. I ordered the special strip steak with the sauce on the side. My husband got the scallops on frizzled spinach. Everything was hot and wonderful. Cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. The wine we ordered was fresh and lively and priced great. For dessert we got the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream and loved it. The décor was fresh and nautical and not overdone. The service was outstanding! We will go back all the time. Love this place!

Great food and drinks. Chowder was delicious. Was a bit disappointed they don’t serve rolls before the main course. Menu could be a bit more varied with additional options. A bit pricey with salads a la carte. Drinks were strong and not short poured as some restaurants do. Overall good experience and will return. Great to have another good restaurant in Hutchinson!

The food was… exquisite! That’s the only way I can describe it. To top it off, Bruno just made a great dinner a wonderful experience. He is so personable, answers any questions & his zest & positive energy regarding the restaurant really is pretty evident. We were about to leave because of a very negative experience at the bar, but Bruno stepped up, suggested a drink I might like,(I did!) & was just so personable & nice that we decided to stay. You can tell he loves his job and he is so good at it. David was our waiter and he was very attentive and accommodating also. I will be back again soon… just won’t sit at the bar. I also have to mention Randy(?), the manager. He too had a great personality & was really awesome. Hope you open for lunch soon!

The Magic Oyster is a wonderful addition to our beach dining. We were there opening night and three times since. Whether sitting at the bar or in a booth, the service has been excellent. The food has been dependably delicious! The one meal that wasn’t perfect was quickly corrected. We will return.

I live not far from this place. Was excited to have more seafood options in the area. Both adults at the table ordered the soft shell crab dinner special. It came with some kind of sauce on top that when combined with the crab tasted like cheese and made the fried soft shell crab soggy. Owner offered to replace them with sauce on the side but only had 2 crabs left so brought 1 plate for 2 adults to share as a replacement. Very disappointed in the waitress. Not only could we hear her shouting in the kitchen when she returned our plates but she later came back to the table and told us we could have ordered it without the sauce to begin with. Huh? They do not have booster seats or crayons for toddlers so it’s going to be hard for them to compete with Shuckers who gives every kid the above and a stuffed animal. Won’t ever go back after meeting the owner.

We’ve been to the Magic Oyster twice since it opened. Both times we have had great service and the food has been great. This is the kind of beachy restaurant we needed in the Stuart area. The horseradish crusted grouper was really good. Also had the oysters and tuna nachos to start. Both were excellent.

So we’ve been waiting for this place to open for a while now. We love oysters! We went to the Magic Oyster last Monday afternoon around 3pm. The kitchen didn’t open until 4, so we hung around and had a few drinks before putting in our order. The oysters were fantastic and the fried calamari was amazing, prices are competitive as well. Right now, they’re only open for dinner with the bar opening at 3pm and the kitchen opening at 4pm. The décor is inviting and the staff is wonderful… we’ll be back very soon — probably tonight :)
