This McDonald’s has such GREAT customer service for being just a fast food joint. I ordered hot cakes with a medium iced hazelnut coffee and I tasted it as I was driving home and it was SOSWEET I couldn’t even drink it it was gross. I called Mcdonalds and told them what was wrong asking if I could get another one later that day or this weekend and the women I spoke with was SO nice and apologetic and logged me in their system so I could get another one whenever I want. Plus the women in the drive thru were really kind too I love this McDonald’s! Thank you Marie!

To clarify,(since there are a total of THREE in Kapolei) this one is the location on the corner, right next to Chilis. This is not my preferred location(not that I do fast food much, but when you’re down to the last few singles in your wallet, whatyagonnado.) Chances are, if you’re on Da Bus, you’ll miss it. I had 15 – 20 minutes to spare and(naively) thought, ‘I’ll just pop in and out and hele on.’ NOPE! The wait in line took forever;(one register open on a SUNDAY at LUNCH?!) My receipt time stamp said 11:54 was when I paid. I stood there watching orders in the 200’s AND300’s on the display screen as being ready for pick up. Really? I heard several numbers that were AFTER me being called. How does that happen? I only had a dinky little order of two small fries, a mozzarella stick and parfait. Were they pulling the potatoes out of the ground? This was the second worst I’ve experienced right behind Kapolei Wendy’s(who also seems to think that only the drive-thru customers are important!) And like the receipt also says, you damn right I’m going to ‘mcdvoice.com’ within 7 days and telling them about my visit! Finally got my order at 12:06. So yeah, missed the bus, it’s only once an hour on Sundays, so I had to take a different bus and walk up the hill.

Tough to get out of the area because of only one traffic light controlling the flow. Area is busy because it is within the shopping center. Food was okay except the iced mocha was watered down. When I asked for a freshly brewed batch she had this confused looked in her face and made another watered down drink.

Well then. I’m hoping the fries will be fresh as they usually are with the extreme long line and wait. I’ll wait for fresh fries no problem. I don’t like to wait to be acknowledged. So we shall see how it goes. For now they are moving pretty quick. Hope my food turns out good. When I got to the paying window the worker went into depth of how it was her first time running solo in the cash window taking orders for both lines and how they were supposed to close one of the lanes and didn’t yet and she’s not sure why, bleh, bleh. At first I felt sorry for her but then she started to drag on repeating herself and I became annoyed. I smiled and wished her better luck the rest of her shift as I moved on to the pick up window. The worker at the second window gave me a free grilled onion cheddar burger. She said«do you want a free burger», I said«sure». As I drove out of the drive through I popped a fry in my mouth and I suddenly knew why I got comped a burger. Fries weren’t fresh, lukewarm at best. It was disappointing because I’ve gone through this drive through several times at this hour just never on this night and prior service has been great. Oh well.

Decided to take the family for a night out of fine dining. We were greeted by the hostess who sat us promptly and right behind her was the Waiter with some water for us! He recommended we order the kids meals for our children. They had a chicken nugget kids meal and a cheese burger kids meal that my children each got. I opted for their number one, which is their most popular menu item! It is called a «Big Mac». While my other half ordered a fish filet meal! We decided to opt out on appetizers since I read some reviews that their meal portions were huge! My Big Mac was delicious! The meat was perfectly cooked medium, and the fresh crisp lettuce and onions on it was like heaven! They had a house made sauce they used on the burger, which I believe you can only get at this restaurant! My meal came with a side of French fries which were hot and crispy, just how I like them! My girlfriends fish was awesome too! It tasted like it came right out of the ocean! It was very refreshing, especially with the house made aioli tartar sauce! I believe they use fresh caught wahoo for their fish filets! My kids enjoyed their meal too, I never tasted my sons burger but my daughters chicken was absolutely moist and delicious! Colonel sanders, eat your heart out! We ended our meal with some ice cream that was also delicious and only priced at less than a dollar! I could eat ten of those ice cream cones! All this for under $ 26! Overall it was a great night out with my family and will definitely go back here for dinner again!

Drive thru needs to get their act together! I’ve been going to this location for 15 years and I always have to check my order to ensure its correct. Why do I go back? Because it’s the closest location to our house. McDonald’s food is consistent but the service is not. Today was by far, the worst. I had a free premium chicken sandwich coupon, which I stated before I ordered. The guy who received my order, said that I could use it for any premium sandwich to include beef instead of chicken so I order a bacon clubhouse hamburger. When I drove up, the employee who receives payment told me that I could only use the coupon for a premium chicken sandwich. So obviously, it wasn’t the same guy. I explained what the other employee told me when I ordered, so he honored the coupon since it was the same price. I finally get to the food pick up window, the female employee gives me our bags and said, waiting for one more bag. Then she handed me the last bag and said, «ok, here you go» and I drove off. While I was passing Longs Drugs, I realized that I didn’t have the drinks. So, I turned around and went through the drive thru again, mind you it was busier, when I finally got to the window where the female employee was, I said, «you forgot to give us our drinks.» She said, «oh here» and handed the drinks to me without an apology. I then said what’s your name? She said, Jennifer. So I then said, «thanks Jennifer» while her manager in the red shirt stood by the coffee machine. No apology for having to be in the drive thru, no accountability and no apology. No freebies, nothing! Go figure!

It’s all about the timing. Every so often there is no line in the drive thru. And that’s the best time. Service still has a little to be desired. But they are getting better.

McDonald’s is a fast food joint catering convenience so why would anyone review? It was very unexpected but I bought an ice coffee at the drive thru and experienced the best customer service from any McDonald’s… Ever! Courteous, friendly, and happy. Definitely made the day brighter

I went to McDonald’s at 12Midnight and got me a big Mac, and sprite. I waited in line at the drive thru for I swear 20 minutes. I could not figure out why it was taking so long and was getting irritated. By the time I got my order my was cold, the bun for my burger was like hard, like if it was sitting under the heat lamp to long. This fast food place sucks just as the one in Nanakuli. No stars from me but to pick one in order to post my opinion.

Cashier’s were chatting with customers when there was a line waiting to order. A large cockroach was seen for 2 minutes on the ground with nothing done about it. Couldn’t tell if no one noticed or no one cared… Also, I ordered a small soft drink with my breakfast which I was told was included yet I was charged an extra $ 0.30 and given a medium. Not that it’s a massive charge, but it pisses me off that I was lied to… Avoid this McDonald’s at all costs. Go to the one near home depot.

I went here with my brother a few nights ago and had a pretty bad experience. We ordered a strawberry sundae and a dipped cone. Both were a MESS and the guy handed them to us like the mess he made wasn’t his problem anymore. SONOTCOOL. I will probably not come here again unless my brother wants to take me.

I’m constantly in the area of this McDonalds(next to Chilis), and I’ve gone here manyyy times, at all times of the day. The service isn’t always the best, but it’s alright. I guess it just depends what time of day you are going and who is working. McDonalds and I have a love/hate relationship. This is because it is always provoking me to go through a Drive-Thru… when I’m trying to lose weight. oink oink. Anyway, last night, after getting out of watching a movie(at 10pm) at the theater down the street, I wanted to swing by McDonalds to get me a hot fudge sundae and fries. So I ordered 2 hot fudge sundaes and a large fries for me and my brother to share, of course, the service was pretty quick. When I got to the second window, there was a kid that was(frantically) asking if I would be able to wait for my hot fudge sundaes because they were«warming it up» or whatever. I didn’t mind, cus watching him being frantic was kind of funny. As I looked beyond him to see what the other people were doing and the person making our hot fudge sundaes were really working the fudge pump. I’m guessing there wasn’t that much fudge left and she had to really pump it. It was hilarious watching all of this happening. and there were 3 other people around, and they were all over the place too. lol. So I’m just in my car watching everyone all over the place and screaming laughing. I give McDonalds(in general) a 1 star because McDonalds breakfast is my all time favorite and they do NOT have breakfast all day… GETONIT! dahhh! The extra star is for the free entertainment I got from the workers last night. Thank you, very much.

It’s McDonald’s… but with a Hawaiian twist! I like their local breakfast favorites and that they have rotating pie flavors like haupia and taro pies. Yum :-) They have two lanes for the drive-thru, and I don’t think I’ve ever waited too long for my order — I don’t think I ever had to wait in the customer waiting area either. The employees are friendly, as a lot of people in Hawaii convey the Aloha spirit. They don’t mind if my kids want to trade their Happy Meal toys for a different one, lol. The cost is good, lots of affordable options. One of my favorite items on the menu is the grilled premium chicken wrap with sweet chili sauce. So good! This location is also great because it’s so close to our house hehe.

Typical drive thru, always busy. Everyone loves McDonald’s because its fast-(drive thru), cheap, and most important– it tastes good! Maybe not the most healthy but hey they have salad now but who goes to McDonald’s for salad? They have 2 lanes at drive thru so make sure when you go to window they have the right order, many times I had to correct cashier, so as a pre-caution AlWAYS check your order. Inside is average in cleanliness, busy so condiment area is chaotic but someone does come out to clean from time to time. Staff for the most part are ok for a fast food joint. You have the occasional staff is rushing you to order and get out but this ain’t no Hilton. Of course coming back, they have the best French fries!

Ok so I went to Mcdonalds next to chilis and I ordered 3 vanilla cone I drove up n load n behold the vanilla looked hella old. It looked icee as if it was a slurpe on a cone. I told the guy this is not the regular vanilla cone im use to. He dares to say that it’s because they didnt CLEANTHEMACHINE!!! What the heck does he mean they didn’t CLEANTHEMACHINE, so u mean to say that u was going to serve me dirty nasty ice cream? Yes people then I told him give me my money n one of the workers chimed in n said«that’s the regular ice cream» ah no it ain’t I want my money. So I left all pissed off so I went to KAPOLEIMCDONALDSEAST by Home Depot n they had the perfect cone that was only 59 cent! They were hella nicer and I recommend them over this mcdonalds.

Okay, it’s a McDonalds. We all know that means oily, fattening foods with less than mediocre service. But when you’ve got a sudden craving for French fries at ridiculous hours of the night(especially after a night out) the convenience and price gets me every time. To put it simply, workers are rude and incompetent. I’m always left waiting in the drive thru at the ordering speaker and windows for someone to take my order, money or hand me my food. On multiple occasions I’ve had to repeat my order numerous times at the screen, correct the order at the window when paying(after having a cashier ring me up for the wrong order), and again at the second window for missing/wrong items. I thought«fast-food» meant quick and easy? In all the times I’ve had mcdonalds I’ve been lucky enough to not get sick, my bf on the other hand has a few times… and each of those times was at this location! If only I could review with less than 1 star…

7.19.13. I forgot how taxing playing in a volleyball tournament could be… and how hungry it could make you in the aftermath. Being unfamiliar with the area, a teammate and I just headed to this«mall» area. We saw the golden M and since we were so exhausted(to even think about going anywhere else) we made our lunch stop here. I have to say, the new McDonald’s put the old/un-renovated ones to shame! This one was furnished to have a modern, sleek feel. As my friend described it, it appeared to be «business friendly» with outlets and free wireless. Food here was decent, the same as from other McDonald’s. I was kind of surprised to read some of the other horror stories left by Unilocalers that happened at this location. I’m just thankful that my visit here went smoothly. Unilocal 365 Challenge: #200/365

I’m a little hesitant about submitting a review for a fast food chain since after all it’s only McDonald’s & everyone’s been to a McDonald’s but after my experience there I felt the need to add my 2 cents with the hopes management will take notice and perhaps reeducate employees on customer service. I had been away from the islands for 3 months and before I left, they were renovating. I decided to grab a quick bite & check out the renovations. When I walked in I didn’t really notice any changes except that maybe the dining area was a bit bigger. I did notice the employee standing at the counter looking indifferent. He didn’t acknowledge me and just stood in front of his register, not even a hint of a smile. He was the only one up front. I placed my order, he punched it in never speaking nor repeating my order to me. I handed him my money & he handed me the change and walked away. He still did not speak. There was another guy waiting for his food. I was taken aback when Dante half flings/slides a bag of food on the counter, sets an empty drink cup down and walked over to his cash register. He didn’t call out a number or tell either of us «here’s your order» nada, zilch, nothing. I’m assuming it was the guy’s since he was there before me. We looked at each other and he shrugged his shoulders. The guy asked Dante who’s order it was. He pointed to me & continued to stand at his register — expressionless. He could’ve brought it to me since I was standing near his register but I guess that was too much work for him. I looked around for the soda machine but didn’t see it, it use to be by the door. I asked him where I could fill my drink and he points to the dining area. Mind you he still has not spoken one word. It was painfully clear he didn’t want to be there and acted like we were infringing on his time. I told him thank you very much a bit sarcastically I admit, but by now I’m annoyed at his attitude, sure it’s only McDonald’s but I could’ve driven my lazy butt across the street to Jack in the Box. I told him to have a nice day. Hallelujah he speaks! He retorted with a sassy«I AM having a nice day!» to which I replied, «I don’t think so» and walked over to get my drink. When I got home, I told my roommate about it and he told me he had the same experience with the same employee. I know it’s only McDonald’s but if I’m going to spend $$ in your establishment then I’d like to feel that I’m welcome and not an intrusion on your day. If you’re having a bad day, please check it at the door. Don’t bring it to work and seriously would it kill you to crack a smile? Maybe I should have given him a hug. After this incident, I read some Unilocal reviews and it seems another customer had her food flung at her as well. I don’t frequent fast food places much and I can’t say I’ll never be back here because it is McDonald’s but I surely won’t step up to Dante’s cash register if he’s working. Some fun stuff: If you’re visiting our islands, Hawaii McDonald’s offers Portuguese sausage or spam and rice or hash browns with the breakfasts. They also have Taro pies.
