The restaurant is clean and the service is friendly. Unfortunately this place has seemed to have slipped in quality over the years. I had the Kung Pow chicken. It was very spicy as promised, but tasted very salty like soy sauce. Typically, I’m looking for some sweet and savory with heat when I order this type of dish. The hot and sour soup fell into the same category. I will say that they have a very nice fried rice. It is light and fluffy and unique in comparison to most fried rice dishes.

I give this place half a star but since Unilocal won’t let me I put 1 star. I went here with my family and we were all so excited because we haven’t really been to a very good Chinese food restaurant in the tri cities. My husband had the Mongolian beef and he said it was disgusting and on top of the beef there were fried white noodles that are supposed to be crunchy but were very stale. I ordered the orange chicken which wasn’t great. It tasted like something you would eat at the mall. We also had fried rice and white rice and shared everything with each other. After we left we got in the car and my son had a «to go» cup and was finishing up his drink. He had taken the lid off so he could get the remaining soda and ice and said«eww there are ants in my cup». I turned around to look inside and lo and behold there were live ants crawling around inside his cups. Omg. So gross. My husband turned around to return the cup and let them know what we found and the cook was in total denial. Started shaking his head and saying no like we had placed the ants in there. Never again will we go to the place.

Horrible. Worst«Chinese» food on planet. Skimp on meat, low quality, canned food with NO flavor. Sweet and sour Prawns were none of the three, just deep fried breading. Stay clear of this hole. Thought I’d give it a shot as it had 3 stars but was sadly disappointed. The Egg rolls were nasty. The Schezwan beef was bland and the meat was of the poorest quality. Got sick about an hour after eating(probably the rancid meat). Only good part was my Red Hook ESB.

One car in parking lot at dinnertime should have clued us in. Americanized Chinese poorly done. Both our meals were disappointing. The best part of the dinner was the young college student working his summer break. Good service… lousy food.

This is an old style Chinese restaurant with ample seating but very bland décor. I choose to have takeout so I can’t speak on the quality of service. However, the women that took my order were very friendly and conversed with me a little while I waited. The food and the price was good. The only negative was the cook who brought out my order. He was quite rude for some reason but he probably doesn’t interact with customers often. Bamboo Garden would have had a better rating if the cookfor would’ve stayed in the kitchen!

I have eaten at many Chinese restaurants, and have only found one other comparable to Bamboo Garden(in Honolulu’s Chinatown). Gail and Joe always maintain a clean, well-lit restaurant with incredible, high-quality food that is served FAST. You don’t get the sketchy, chewy beef here. It’s hand-tenderized real beef. No hokey-questionable general chinese food«flavor» that most restaurants seem to have, giving an after taste that makes all the entrees taste the same. No, not here. This is where you go for a real Chinese meal. I may be biased since I waited tables here in their second hear of business, but trust me — their kitchen is clean. Not sure I can say the same about any other Chinese restaurant around here. Great place to stop in for a quick lunch. Decent lunch special prices. If you’re a lover of foods slightly sweet and spicy AND onions, I highly recommend the mongolian anything. Lastly — this is a szechuan and hunan style restaurant — if you want generic Chinese food, try anywhere else.

We have limited choices of Chinese restaurants to choose from here in Kennewick. Bamboo Garden being one of the better ones. We usually don’t order from the regular menu. They have an authentic Chinese menu if you ask for it. The food on that menu however is not cheap. We eat there maybe once every other month. My boys who like the more American style Chinese food always opt for their broccoli beef from the regular menu. I myself love the stuffed tofu from the Chinese menu. The tofu is stuffed with pork/shrimp and deep fried and served with a brown sauce. It is crispy on the outside, hot and soft on the inside. The owners always come out to say hello and the service is great.

There is nothing special about the place from the décor to the food. The wait staff was very friendly which is the 1 good thing about this place. Food was average at best. Would not be my first choice when going for Chinese food.

I went to this place for lunch with my husband and two kids. The portions are good and the food was great. We were both very happy food. There wasnt too many people there so we hardly waited. The prices are ok too.

Very bland food and bland service. I wouldn’t consider it bad, but it is far from good. Go to Shang Hi for good Chinese.

I ended up here because the restaurant I wanted to try was about to close for the evening(Yoeshi’s). The décor is pretty plain, but that can overlooked if the food is good. Expect laminate tables, white walls, and vinyl booths. Based on the reviews above, you would think this place should have 1 star. Is it authentic Chinese food? No. Is it Americanized Chinese food? Yes. I hate to break it to you all, but PF Changs isn’t exactly«Authentic» either… and neither is Panda Express. :-) This place is decent enough, and fits the bill just fine for«normal American Chinese food». Someone above complained that the food was too salty, and the servings were too small. Maybe the owners were experimenting with appropriate portion sizes? I don’t know. But I *can* tell you that I could have eaten twice on the food I was given. And it wasn’t bad, either. I ordered the Combo Meal, which comes with your entrée, egg drop soup, an egg roll(or something else from a short list), and«pork fried rice». After eating, I can honestly say that I’m confused as heck about the previous reviews. «The egg rolls are fantastic!» «The fried rice is amazing!» «The food in way too salty and there’s not enough of it!» «It’s too expensive for what you get!» «It took too long to get my food.» I didn’t experience ANY of that! I had to double check to make sure I was at the same restaurant! I kid you not! The egg roll was good… but fantastic? Really?! The pork fried rice was REALLY uneventful. It was fried rice, with some egg in it, and a little sliced pork on top. The entrée wasn’t overly salty, in my opinion(I ordered the Hunan Chicken); and the veggies in the entrée were still crisp and fresh. The soup was my least favorite part of the meal. The service was decent, not extraordinary. It’s a family owned business, and I dare say there were likely only 2 – 3 people working in the entire place. But in the 30 minutes I was there, I ordered, got my food, had my water glass refilled 3 times, and paid my bill. Not too shabby. The combo meal I ordered was $ 8.50… so I paid about $ 12 after taxes and tip. Bear in mind that I only drank water. All in all, I didn’t think this place was too bad. I’d eat here once in a while, if I lived in town, but I’ve definitely had better. This place is a solid 3 stars. No worse. No better.

Horrible… just spend your money on panda express. Everything here was bland and covered in even blander gravy. Dont waste your time.

After two years me and hubby went back to this place and I cant believe how the quality of their food went down. I sure hope they change their cook otherwise I dont think they will last longer.

We used to be regulars here until we figured out that it was mediocre at best. Okay, there are a few good things: First, they have some of the best Hot and Sour Soup in town. It’s fantastic! It tastes a lot like P.F. Chang’s, but cheaper. Unfortunately, it made me horribly sick the last time I ate it, so I’m hesitant to go back for that. Second, the egg rolls are fantastic and some of the best in town. And… that’s about it as far as the good parts go. Sesame Chicken, Orange Chicken, etc. are absolutely unbearable! There’s really no way around it. It’s overpowering in its… lack of seasoning. I don’t know how else to explain it. There’s just no attempt to balance out all of the bitter with anything sweet. Terrible! Service is decent and the place is clean, but the Hot and Sour Soup that makes me sick along with the Egg Rolls are not enough to warrant a return visit. Shanghai is where we go if we’re in the mood for good Chinese food that isn’t a chain, or a buffet.

2.5 stars We just got back form Bamboo Garden for the second time and I have to say, this place is far from the 4 stars it has above. Bamboo Garden is 2.5 stars at best. The food is just ok, the atmosphere is somewhat dirty and under kept, and the prices are way too high for the serving sizes and portions you get. The sweet and sour chicken was made with sub par batter and came with about 16 or 17 pieces on the plate, ridiculously small portion. The hunan chicken was very salty and unbelievably tough(overcooked), but had far more portion wise than the sweet and sour chicken did. Chow mien with prawns was flavorless and bland, and the egg rolls had literally no meat in them, it was all veggies. And last but not least the pot stickers tasted like the frozen kind you get at the store, no effort into them at all. Two chicken dishes, a noodle dish, two appetizers and 1 drink for $ 60?!? Are you kidding? Walking out and paying over $ 60(w/tip) we were wondering why we didn’t just go to P.F. Chang’s and get food that actually tastes good. Very unimpressed with Bamboo Garden.

My first time here, I ate dinner with my brother. We shared one of the meal for two deals. I think it was like 14.50 each. My brother is a picky eater, so we had to keep it mainstream — orange chicken, egg roll, pork fried rice and low mein. The pork fried rice was borderline devine. It could hold its own as a meal. Quite frankly, I cant believe I am writing that… but its true. The orange chicken was all white meat and, like everything else, served in enormous portions. Their egg burritos err… um, rolls were really good, too. Its been awhile since we were there so I cant remember much about the low mein. Oh yeah, the egg drop soup was as good as Ive eaten. Smitten with the meal, I had to quiz the staff on their origins. They moved here from Los Angeles about 15 years ago I was told. This would explain why it was so good. I left feeling like Priapus on Viagra knowing that I can walk there from my new casa! Oh what a difference a second visit made. My second time was for lunch. I made the mistake of ordering a lunch special. Frankly, it was awful. Like I was eating at a buffet. Seriously disappointing. Obviously, I can only endorse the dinner. Very reasonable prices and much better quality. Ya heard?

Don’t Waste your time, unless you want very typical Chinese food. Nothing to write home about, as I heard from another table.“Hows yours. Not bad”(sigh in her voice) IE there is probably 60+ tables in the place and well, it was us and 2 other families.

Recently, I went back to the town that I grew up in to visit my parents and see some old friends. I got to say, the Asian population here is almost non compared to Seattle or San Francisco. This place does need to be highlighted though. It is probably the only authentic Chinese place in the whole Tri-Cities. I mean they are opening a PF Chang’s and there are about a dozen Chinese buffets(that serve the exact same thing). Who wants to go to those places if you are seeking real Chinese food anyways? So seriously, If you are looking for Chinese food and for some reason you are in the Tri-Cities, come here. It is at most 15 minutes from anywhere in the city. And of course, because its in the Tri-Cities, the price is cheep and the portions are BIG. I would recommend the walnuts prawns and the beef chow. Can’t go wrong with those.
