Kent Bowl

My first impression coming here was «That’s 70s show». The place has a quirkiness and old school feeling to it that I love. The staff was friendly and helpful. We went on a Tuesday night and they have half off special. It was my first time bowling and I had a lot of fun.

Kent Bowl is a dingy, local spot. Let’s admit it. But, it’s a dingy local spot that I LOVE. It smells weird and the employees are sometimes stand-​offish, but this is the place to go for a night of bowling. It’s cheap, the junk food is amazing, and it’s hardly ever packed. It makes me kind of sad because I know that means that business can’t be doing so hot, but I love how clear this place is compared to Acme. Love that this place is only 5 minutes away from my house, too!

Crap bowling alley. Just like every other. if you don’t bowl league, your worthless to them. $ 50 for two bowlers to bowl for an hour, yet you can’t find an ounce of oil on the lanes. Don’t come here.

Kent Bowl has been around for many years and has never been a «top grade» set of lanes.
The food service leaves something to be desired. The mozzarella sticks were bland and fries were soaked in grease! More frustrating was the $ 10 minimum to order with a debit or credit card!
The pricing here is outrageous. It is $ 5.25 a game… that is consistent with Acme Bowl 10 minutes away that has cleaner, newer, has music, lights and much friendly up to date atmosphere.
The lanes them selves are dated with several lanes having boards sticking up changing the path of the ball.
After this last visit we will not be going to or recommending Kent Bowl anymore.

My parents bowled leagues here when I was a kid… Now I bowl leagues here! I wish they’d do Cosmic Bowl on weekends and would stay open later…
But they do have two great guys in the Pro-​Shop (Norm and Dan) that are knowledgeable and are willing to help you! Would like to see the Pro-​Shop start accepting Credit Cards because hitting up the cash machine and getting hit with the $ 2 fee sucks… hopefully someday! Also would love to see more merchandise and less league bowlers bags sitting in the shop.
They recently put in new seafoam green seats and flat screen monitors! They have a cool texting program where you can get a free game and usually have some cool deal where you can win discounts (seems random so check the signs posted around the front desk). My favorite is the $ 2.50 per game price on Sundays between 9a and Noon (be in before 11:45a to get the deal though. Even if you bowl past noon and you’re in before 11:45a, they’ll honor the price!)
They do have some arcade games, not many as I’d have if it were my place but enough to occupy kids for a little while.
Junk Food Junction is great for bar food but if you want a real meal, don’t eat here. The vending machines are way expensive so I suggest hitting up the Junk Food Junction for your beverage needs.
I rarely have issues with my bowling lane or monitor. Wish they’d turn up the sound on the televisions during the Football games on Sundays or at least have music playing… Lanes aren’t too heavily oiled and are well taken care of. First 7 or 10 lanes are still Wood while the rest are synthetic. I’ve seen them oil the lanes every Sunday right before their Sunday leagues. Dunno if they do it once a week or every day but I love the lanes!
All in all could use a few tune ups but this is my FAVORITE place to bowl!!!

great old place like stepping back in time. old fashion fresh cut French fries, beer, food for the kids. Life is good. I use to come here 30 years ago when I was a kid and now I bring my kids here. good family fun that does not cost an arm and a leg like most other bowling places. I glad I re-​found this place when I moved back!

I am a fan… but why? Well this place brings me back to the bowling alleys of my youth, with the kitschy decorations and super fab 70s looking furniture. The «public» bowling balls are all pretty jacked up with scars and grooves, but they are serviceable enough for a night of fun. If you are trying to be a pro buy your own ball! The shoes were new and fit very well. The scoring system screwed up a couple times but they were quick to make corrections.
The snack bar/​bar looks like something time forgot — straight out of a bar in the middle of Wyoming, with the giant nacho cheese machine and the extra strong cocktails. This place makes me nostalgic and I love it! I just wish they had hand sanitizer because those bowling balls are a little icky.
The staff are great, very nice and helpful and just super friendly. We had a blast!

3 stars is actually quite generous and that is due to the good service and accomodations.
The place is obviously run down, the lanes are no longer waxed and shiny, theres this old building smell to it. Unknown objects stuck on the ceiling above your head. (I, personally have not visited the bathroom, therefore cannot speak of it).
Even though the place is run down, the family and another dad and his two kids enjoyed the quick visit very much. The pricing was definitely fair for what was offered. Per kid was $ 3.75/game and shoes were $ 3. But because we have two «2 year olds» they said they could just wear their own shoes.
The staffs are very friendly and accomodating. We requested the rack to assist the little ones with the bowling balls and that was a plus. We can’t complain

Kent Bowl is from the good ol’ OL’ ol’ days and moving forward in the 21^st century. Most of the facility is pretty original to its roots or old school updates. I was told the only «updates» they made recently were upgrading to synthetic lanes and new scoring systems. That is it. And call me a nerd, but I also liked the metal slanted beams for the ball return rack. They don’t have weekend morning specials.
With that said, I hope they endure, because these places don’t last around the Puget Sound area. When I recall Sunset and Leilani Bowls closing, that was truly saddening news to the bowling community.

We just visited the Kent Bowl in November 2011 — and we had a great time! It was remodeled, the bowling shoes were brand new! The bowling lanes are beautiful and the service was friendly and great.
Very nice remodel! We bowled all six people on one lane, computer scoring system is great! Fun! Good job Kent Bowl!

This place is so hood! Some of the chairs looked like they havent been cleaned in a few months. The only thing thats saving them from a lower rating is the fact that the staff was nice.
