Unbelievable to find such great chicken and ribs on the side of the road but they have them. Very good price and they have good portions. Definitely will be stopping here again soon. Mahalo.

Saw this place on our way to get some shaved ice, we quickly made a u-turn and so glad we did. I’m not much of a rib person and these ribs were so tasty and well seasoned! I couldn’t stop licking all the seasoning off of the bone. Chicken was pretty good! Price is excellent and it’s all cooked fresh and right before your eyes. Right in front of the beach. Very friendly family owned little food stand, highly recommend stopping here!

I love a good meal at a fine dining, white tablecloth restaurant but sometimes racks on racks of rotisserie chicken cooking by the side of the road catches your eye and you have to pull over. $ 12 bought me a whole chicken which I asked them to piece out for me. They threw the cut chicken into a styrofoam container, bagged it up and done. Perfect for a beach picnic(although a bit messy). It was juicy and tender. No fuss just roasted chicken and a hard working bunch.

hey this roadside thing looks sketchy when you pull up but the ribs and rice and chicken were great and hit the spot. The people are super nice and hardworking. You should go over there and get some!

I really wish we had discovered this place sooner. We stopped by around 10am on our way to Lahaina and this was literally the best meal(and least expensive meal) we had on the island. They cook the meat right in front of you and it smells SOGOOD. I had the combo plate, which comes with ribs, chicken, rice and corn. I loved every bite. You can either eat it on the tailgate or go to the beach across the street. HIGHLY recommend.

Stumbled on this stand on the way to the airport. The smell was the best, we made a u — turn and got a chicken plate and a chicken rib plate for our family of 4. My children have never eaten so fast before, they loved it, and are very picky. There was a picnic table on the beach, in the shade a few blocks down, it was the best lunch of our entire visit! I wish I had seen this sooner. $ 19 fed my family of 4, that’s cheaper than McDonald’s and everything else on the island. We will be back next visit for sure!

Delish ribs and very friendly staff. I love how the guy will offer you a rib before you order… yummy! I ordered a full slab and ran home to eat some. It was very very tender with just enough sauce. My only wish is that they included some kind of side with a full slab order. You need to have cash to pay, and they are only there a couple of days a week. I am going back to try their chicken next time. Staff is really nice!

Hit the spot after a long day of travel; smelled great, easy turn off on the side of the road; friendly cook. I don’t like BBQ much bc I find its often dry but not this chicken. I found it to be very tasty and moist. I took off a star bc my husband who loves BBQ said the ribs were good(I thought he’d be more pumped). I’d go back! Only avail Wednesdays and Saturdays.

We were strolling along the beach and had just wondered aloud what to have for lunch, when… the most amazing smell filled the air, permeating the salty-sandy ocean breeze and stopping us in our tracks. Up to the right, right on S. Kihei, was a barbecue operation running out of a church parking lot. There are a couple of tables, a truck, and a rotisserie. This isn’t a sit-down kind of place — it’s a walk up and bark your order kind of place — and we definitely seemed a little out of place as we struggled to figure out what other people were ordering. The answer? Order a lunch plate($ 8.50) — a half roasted chicken, two scoops of rice, and a scoop of corn. That was just enough for two of us, and it was delicious. The chicken is perfectly roasted and crisped on the outside; I don’t normally like the skin, but I was tearing into it here. Dump some sriracha and soy sauce on the rice and it pairs very well with the hot chicken. We took our Styrofoam container back down to the beach, and I have to say — I don’t think I’ve ever had a better lunch view for just $ 8.50. If you’re tired of touristy Maui, and you want some local Maui, this is the place.

In kihei on Wednesday and Saturday. In wailuku(on lower main street in the lot of a karaōke place) on Friday. Ordered a whole chicken to go for $ 11.50. Didn’t get to eat it until a couple hours later. perhaps it might have tasted better if I had eaten it right away, Chicken is regular sized, seasoned okay. I have had better off the street chicken from Hilo, Hi(gina’s) so I had really high expectations.

Discovered by accident, and what a fortunate accident. Whole chicken now $ 11. So flavourful. Had dinner and then sandwiches. Only thing is, never sure when they are there. Not there all week; am checking tomorrow, Saturday, to see if it is just a weekend thing. Hope so, ’cause that is our dinner plans… okay, asked the guy today and he said Wednesdays and Saturdays.

What’s not to like about eating chicken from a bag? After spending a few days in touristy Lahaina, I was dying for some real local flavor. Driving into Kihei for lunch, we saw the rotisserie chicken on the side of the road and knew we’d have to stop by on our way back. The whole chickens were just finishing up on the spit so we ordered 2 in case we stayed in Lahaina for dinner. They were $ 10 each for not so big chickens so even chicken being sold in a church parking lot has got the Maui markup. But this was one of the best rotisserie chickens I’ve ever had– tender meat and flavorful skin… it was one of my favorite eats on Maui.

After a day of snorkeling, sunning, napping and wahine-watching at Black Rock Beach, Edgar felt peckish. Luckily after returning the gear at Kihei, Edgar spotted smoke coming from the church’s parking lot — and eventually saw an impromptu bbq chicken stand. Edgar ordered a small plate for $ 6: quarter of a chicken, small scoop of rice and corn on the side. And a Diet Pepsi for $ 1. A dollop of Sriracha was the perfect punctuation of the simple meal. The chicken was awesome. Crispy skin and juicy meat. The rice was fluffy and the corn was… corn. What added to the nourishment in Edgar’s belly was the fact that Edgar ate this small meal while watching the sun set. Edgar doesn’t know if the chicken stand is there all the time, but if you’re ever on the road to Kihei keep an eye out for it. To be continued…
