Amazing! Cool little local place that sits beachside. Food is fresh and oh so delicious!!! I had the fish tacos that were fresh, perfectly seasoned, and generously portioned. My husband had the Mahi plate and he ate every bite! Even our 2 picky eaters– 4 year old and 18 month old devoured there quesadilla and then ate some of our fish. Prices are totally reasonable and service was fairly speedy. Going back tonight and I can’t wait! A must try!

Yum yum yum! I make a rule to try a new place every night on vacation but I made an exception and went back a second night. Delicious seafood dishes and pasta, but the best thing was fish and chips. Wonderful flaky batter, tender and soft fish, not over fried fish sticks at all!

Wow. Blows Mamas out of the water. This is a no frills non pretentious spot and that’s the beauty of it all. Solid menu. Amazing fresh and delicious food. Good beer selection. Affordable and just great. Nice work!

Dear Yuri and Moonstar(the owners), 1. Your lady cashier is unbelievably very rude. She is more interested in texting when there are 7 people in line. She doesn’t like answering questions to vacationers. But guess what? You are in a tourist location and you guys need to make money from the tourists to stay in business. Fire her ASAP. You pay for them to work not text. She is supposed to be customer friendly and informative. The tip jar had only a dollar or two because she is rude. Rude workers provide rude experiences. Rude experiences give low ratings. 2. You have another lady who was half working and half texting. She is the one that delivers the food to the tables. Again, you hired her to serve the customers and not text to her friends. Fire her ASAP. There was no, «how’s the food ?» and«thanks for coming» type follow –ups 3. You have a solid bus boy. I felt sorry for him. He knew he was doing all the work on cleaning the tables and picking up the dishes. He was on his feet checking on trash and cleanliness of the tables. He was doing everything and he noticed it too so he rolled his eyes in disgust. He is a solid worker and you must reward him. Give him a raise ASAP! 4. You don’t need those two ladies to work there. Just give a raise to the bus boy because he can do everything outside of the kitchen. 5. I’m giving free advice other consultants would charge you $$$$$$$$ to tell you this. 6. Other reviews say you are using MSG. Don’t use it. 7. If you do not want to keep your business and make more money let me know. I will buy it from you guys and make more money. You are just throwing away money. Don’t throw away money.

I am on a specific diet, so after searching Foodland for something that fit in my parameters, I stopped at the Paia Fish Market where I ordered a Mahi Mahi Salad to go, dressing on the side. I took it back to my hotel where I was amazed at how good it was. Instead of the dressing I used the lemon juice which totally gave me what I needed. The two shrimp were a bonus too. The Mahi tasted fresh and had a wonderful flavor I just can’t seem to get in the PNW. This will definitely be a stop I will make every time I come back to Kihei.

Came here for a quick casual dinner. Ordered the ahi burger and seafood salad. Burger was tasty with the fish warm and seared and the added fries were nice and crispy. Only thing I would change is the cold tomato. The fish on the salad had the great flavor of the grill. Otherwise this was a pretty decent salad. Great staff and friendly service. Would come back.

It’s simple, if it’s perfectly cooked fresh fish you crave, then this is where to go. I usually get my fish charbroiled because it’s FRESH so why mask the flavor? If you want it panfried or deep fried they can do that too. It’s all good here, because it’s all about the fish, it’s fresh and they know how to cook it. It won’t cost you an arm and a leg and there’s enough variety to eat fish everyday for weeks and never have the same thing twice.

This was recommended to us by multiple people before our trip to Maui and the food definitely lived up to our expectations. My husband and I shared a mahi burger and salad — the fish was great and the size was perfect. The lady who took our order was very nice but I was very disappointed in the person who served our food. We clearly ordered the Jamaican jerk seasoning on our mahi(our receipt even said it) but it came out without it. When I said this to the server he didn’t even ask if I wanted him to fix the error. It was very frustrating to not be treated like a paying costumer. What happened to «the costumer is always right»? He just kinda stood there as I told him the order was wrong and then he just walked away. Didn’t even offer to bring me a new sandwich. Super disappointing but even without the correct order, I still enjoyed my meal. UPDATE: after I complained about the wrong order and poor service, one of the owners reached out and apologized and offered to help in anyway he could so that the next time we ate there, we enjoyed it even more. Great service!

I had the chicken. It was too dry. When I was offered potatoes as a side, I had no idea they would be full of onions. It would be nice to know! I don’t eat coleslaw, so having a half a plate of it, did not do anything for me. The tarter sauce was tasty. My husband had some type of fish that I tried, and that was good. The meal was served outside, next to a market. The general shopping area around the restaurant was not as clean as I would like. For what we paid; it was not cheap, the food and ambiance seemed expensive for what we got.

Great fish entrees! Prices were very reasonable since the plates were huge! We ordered the mahi mahi tacos, Cajun style opah plate, mahi mahi grilled plate and mahi mahi fish and chips. The entrees come with rice, French fries or potatoes. The rice was really tasty and the Cole slaw that comes with the plate is huge! More like salad than Cole slaw. I think the best dish was the Cajun style opah, loved the spices. Also their Tatar sauce is amazinggggg, I put it on everything.

Our first dinner in Maui was at a lovely little fresh-fish-of-the-day joint with a ton of picnic tables outside. I liked the opah they had available, which was denser and a little more flavorful than some other local fish. The vegetables were mediocre, though. Good, but you can do better.

Came here for lunch with wife and had their happy hour special $ 6 for a draft beer and an ono/Mahi fish taco, I also ordered the ono filet(no side) and wife ordered seafood pasta. The fish taco was terrific and with a draft beer for $ 6 is a fantastic deal. The ono filet was overcooked and tough albeit good flavor. The Seafood pasta was one of the best we’ve had anywhere. The scallops were on it were especially fresh and juicy. Overall will recommend.

Was hungry for shrimp, so we stopped here last night for shrimp and chips. We always share a plate, so also got a Ceasar salad, which was good too. The cole slaw was not that good according to my honey, but the fish was well done and delicious!

I live on Maui, and I’ve been to a lot of great restaurants, but this one just didn’t cut it for me. When this Kihei location opened, everyone was raving about the fresh fish but when I tried the good here, first of all, it’s way overpriced for what you get. Yes, you get a good amount of fish when you order the plates, but for the eh coleslaw, ok Cajun rice and greasy overly buttered home fries for side, it’s just not worth paying $ 25 when you can get restaurant quality entrees at some of the better restaurants in Maui like Gannon’s or Mama’s Fish House. I like the food in Paia because they’re fresh and seasoned just enough that you can actually taste the food, not mask it. I ordered the blackened mahi mahi plate with mixed sides and the mahi was flavorless, although it tasted better the next day(leftovers) and the sides were just too buttery and greasy. Also, when I called ahead to put the order in, the girl that answered the phone was extremely rude and unhelpful. She should’ve recommended that i get it charbroiled instead. Or to save money, she could’ve recommended that I ordered the fish burger without the buns for only $ 12, which comes with fries, instead of telling me they don’t do ala carte. Overall, overpriced, bad customer service and mediocre food.

In the mood for fish, we stopped here for dinner after a long day. Oh man, so good!!! I had the dish taco dinner with potatoes, and hubs had the Ono burger. One dinner plate and one sandwich was just enough food for two. His Ono burger came on a beautiful big bun with a hit of coleslaw. The fish was so fresh, and very tasty. My fish tacos were outstanding. Flaked fish, cheese, and a small mound of shredded iceberg and chopped tomatoes. Double layer on the corn tortillas. They were presented on top of half a plate of griddled smashed red potatoes and half a plate of chunked up coleslaw. There was a small dish of tartar sauce on the side(which tasted a lot like thousand island dressing??!). When you arrive, grab a menu from the basket near the stairs, head inside to the register to order, then sit outside and wait foe your food. My ONLY complaint/con was the cute English girl serving the food had ZERO idea what a gluten intolerant person could enjoy from the menu. She suggested salad, fish and chips, or the crispy fried shrimp. She was very nice about it though! The girl at the register was great– she knew exactly which dishes were gluten free, and carefully explained how the«home fries» included with my meal were really griddled potatoes with a dedicated griddle. Mmmmm. This girl does love a good potato!

This place is always busy! Try to arrive before 7pm otherwise you’ll have a difficult time looking for a place to sit. If you love fish and chips, you must order it from here. The fish is super meaty! The fish tacos are amazing too. I prefer the rice rather than the fries. I’m actually sitting here waiting for the seafood pasta this time! The last time I was here, someone ordered it nearby and it looked crazy good.

We ate here on September 25th and again on the 28th. I can’t explain in words how amazing the mahi burger is. We stayed in Lahaina and actually drove to Kihei twice ONLY to eat here on our trip. Grilled and not fried. Super fresh fish. We paid around $ 12 a sandwich and that included fries. From my husband, who absolutely loves fish sandwiches, «It’s simply the best fish sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Hands down.» I agree. He adds, «…and the buns seem homemade, they were so good.» I concur. 100%. Did I mention that tartar sauce was amazing too? Not your typical sauce — light and creamy with dill and awesomeness added.

I ordered the ono plate, sauteed in lemon, butter and garlic with a side of rice and potatoes. The serving size was plentiful and I loved every bite of it. Highly recommend coming here for a seafood fix! This is a fairly new restaurant in Kihei as the original location is in Paia. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was how absolutely humid and hot it was that day since there is only an outdoor shaded seating area with ceiling fans, but it’s Maui. Gotta accept it!

I went to Paia Fish Market Southside when I had a day off work and wanted to try something new for lunch. The fish was good, but what I really appreciated was the ability to order a fish entrée with fish by itself at a lower price than the full entrée(skipping the sides of rice or fries and coleslaw). Then I ordered a side of onion rings. The portion of fish was enough for a meal in itself. The fish entrée can be cooked in something like 4 or 5 different ways, and the fish available are posted at the cash register(with a description of the fish meat). They had 3 of my favorite fish available when I was there(which made the decision a little harder), but I was happy with my sauteed opah. There is outdoor seating, and if you eat there, someone will bring your meal to you.
