Breakfast yum! Stopped in after a long walk along Kihei beaches for a quick breakfast. Good service, great beach views, nice menu. I had the caprese omelette — fantastic! Why haven’t I thought to make this at home? Recommend for easy scenic breakfast spot. Very chill.

Once again Sarento’s hits it out of the park. We spent Valentine’s Day here and the service was amazing. We even had a bit of a bump with a steak that needed a little more cooking and they went out of their way to make it up to us – and we weren’t upset to begin with. Sometimes you learn more about a place when there is a small issue than when it goes perfectly. We were beyond pleased. We finally made it in for breakfast on the 16th and it was wonderful. Sarento’s is all about the whole experience.

Pricey for sure but the view is unbeleiveable. I would agree with some of the other reviews that a little menu update could be in order. Nothing jumped out at me. It also does pain me to pay $ 35 for kobe spaghetti-HOWEVER(keep it mind $ 35us is about $ 50 canadian for me sadly)…it was delish and melted in my mouth. I only had one bite-my husband didnt want to share. The caprese salad was good. Like standard issue good –not blow my mind good(and I have had blow my mind good just so you know)…(sidebar at Spagos the Heirloom Tomato caprese is like crack)… anyway I digress. My entrée was the shrimp and scallop with gnocchi and mushrooms. It was good. Nothing wrong with it but I guess for $ 43us I was expecting more somehow. Maybe more in presentation or more in flavor. It was nice but not amazing. I was a little confused why all the waiters. Id say that was a bit of a turn off. Sometimes its nice to establish a rapport with someone –not have one seat us, one take drinks, one bring bread and then other deliver food and then others check in on us. That made it seem leas ingenious and more like time share workers –managing the floor. They each would come and move the olive oil bottle too which was weird –like some restaurant secret code. I would say for the price overall and the strange service it was good…, but just not great.

The only good part of the meal was the salad — the Caesar was absolutely excellent(see picture). The service started out bad: we were warned that we were going to have a «tag team» serving us this evening. That would be OK if they actually communicated. We ordered wine with dinner, and after we were almost done with dinner and it still had not arrived we told the«tag team» to cancel the bottle. The good news is they comped us for the mixup. The entrees were marginal to poor. Three out of the four of us had seafood: some were overcooked, some were undercooked, they were all salted beyond the pale. The presentation of the seafood dishes was terrible — no color, looked like slop in a bowl. I ordered the rack of lamb — it was underdone, gristly, served with some crumbles of feta and cherry tomatoes. It was my first time there, but our companions have been going here for 14 years and they stated they never have been so disappointed in a meal there. The view at this place is absolutely stellar, but if they are going to charge those kind of prices they need to step up their game.
