The cashier (a lady with an Eastern European accent) was very short and kind of rude. She didn’t smile once and kind of seemed annoyed we were making her work by ordering food. My mom asked what bread the grilled cheese is made on, and she looked at my mom like she was an idiot for not knowing it was made on a hamburger bun (which is not the intuitive/traditional choice, so I don’t know why she was so condescending).
Food was fine, but the service was not at all friendly. Honestly I don’t think I saw any employee smile at any customer the whole time we were there.

5 stars for Five Guys at this location! Friendly & fast service, clean & the fries were fantastic! Not greasy like done other locations I’ve been to. Skip the drive thrus for this quick bite to eat a burger. Get the coffee milkshake it doesn’t disappoint!

Simply the best in the Outer Banks.
Fast service, friendly staff.
Reasonably priced, portions are good.
The french fries are out of this world, can you say death by fries.
Place was clean and organized no issues looking forward to our next visit.

We went to this location this past summer and it was the best five guys burger we’ve ever had. The fries were good as per usual and we will definitely be returning. Great place to stop by if your super hungry and craving a good juicy burger. This place gets pretty busy during the summer as do most places down in the outer banks.

Death by fries and I’ll take it! Who doesn’t love Five Guys? The burgers, fries, and shakes are great and we go when we can. This location is clean and has a good crew working. They are ready for the rush and can handle it. Yay for Five Guys.

First time guest at Five Guys. Pros: Friendly staff. Food delivered quickly. Portions huge. Cons: burgers fell apart/very messy/became finger food. Flavor of burgers was just a 5 out of 10. Fries soggy and tasteless and just a 3 out of 10. also no paper towels in the bathroom. Based on this initial visit, I would not return nor suggest it to a friend.

Best burger on the BEACH! Have it your way for real! They load you down with a bag full of fries if you order the large. Its enough fries for the entire family! Food was hot and made to order, and just simply AMAZING!

Just went to five guys for my first time a couple weeks ago in KDH, and it was amazing. Burgers, tasty fries, and some peanuts to crack while you wait for your food. Without offending my east coast folks, it reminds me of In-n-Out in many ways. Life is good.

After a long drive from Norfolk, VA, I was eager to have my first ever taste of Five Guys. The bacon cheeseburger was indeed a winner, and yes, the order of fries is huge. Maybe it is a little greaser than In-N-Out and it is more expensive. However, it offers a superior product IMO with comparable service. For this reason, I give Five Guys the edge.

I went to this Five Guys in July 2012 for a vacation. This is my first time and I heard their veggie burgers are very good. The cashier lady was pretty and helpful. I would like to say something about the guy who worked there that day.
He was mopping down every single table and chair, every corner. The moment I was wondering that I have never seen an employee worked so serious in Los Angeles, don’t mention someone who works in a fast food restaurant? NO WAY!
All of sudden, a lady pointed to a guy and this guy hit the bug immediately and he got stung. The lady told him he may need medical attention. He thought it was cool and just shrugged.
I mean, i have to write this in case he really got sick, this is the proof. I hope this helps.

Just as good if not better than the one we frequent at home. Little hamburger with «everything on» plus cajun fries — can’t beat the quality and the price. They do both very very well.

Ate at this location twice while on vacation. It lives up to the five guys food! The staff was great, friendly, and actually brought your food out to you. Only downside I can think of is this place is always busy and it is hard to find a seat. They also have great new drink machines that you can pick normal soda like coke and add flavors to it for instance cherry, grape, etc. Def will go back when I’m back there on vacation. Can’t lose, great food, good price, and large amount of food for your money!

Three words. In and Out.
This place PALED in comparison to the original drive through burger joint In and Out. I came here, starving my flat buns off, and ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger, Bacon Cheese Dog, Fries, and helped myself to some peanuts.
For starters, they don’t have shakes. That was a big disappointment right off the bat. The food was really greasy, and the fries, even though they used fresh potatoes, had a funny taste. Was it the peanut oil perhaps? I’m not sure, but there was nothing exciting or memorable about it. Even being as hungry as I was, I was not impressed (and everything usually tastes better when you are hungry!)
Not sure what other good burger joints there are in the OBX, but definitely hit up another place for lunch if you have had the pleasure of putting in and out in your mouth

My friends and I stopped in here when mother nature over washed nc-12 highway thru Hatteras. Burger was excellent, fries were outstanding, service was kind and quick… and our luck changed as we were able to go thru the closure that evening with happy full bellies.
One note… the small fries fed three people easily… don’t get large fries.

I love the fact that this DC-based chain has come to Nags Head, and is seemingly open year-round.
Excellent burgers!!! Highly recommended if you want cheap/fast food and want to avoid the usual suspects (Mc Donalds, Wendy’s Burger King, etc.).
