This is my second time here… and it was better than the first time. Had the Carne asada tacos and for the first time I had lengua tacos. I went back for two more lengua tacos cause it was the best thing I’ve ever had, taco wise. I will keep coming back to this place… the drive from atascadero is so worth it.

We stopped at this place on the way to our vacation spot in Sonoma County because of the Unilocal reviews. On our way home 5 days later, we stopped again. Our group tried the super burrito, regular burrito, and sopes. My personal favorite was the carne asada regular burrito with cheese added. And don’t forget the verde sauce. Omg. I’m going to dream of this place. Why does it have to be 5 hours from home???

Delicious place! We had tacos, sopes & burritos. We had lengua, al pastor & carnitas. The lengua was our favorite. The burrito was huge & stuffed with everything. The rice was delicious. I recommend this spot for a quick bite to eat.

So good! We got tacos and burritos and although both were great, the tacos were the real gem. We brought a baby and a dog and everyone was welcome. Get the«salsa» that comes on the side!

Fantastic tacos and only 1.41 each! The’Super burrito was fantastic as well(only $ 5.99). I could eat here every day! My favorite is the al pastor though they have many meat choices including cabeza and tripas. Typical of a little taco shack, you order at one window and pickup at another. Picnic tables outside. If you are ever in King City or even driving by, you gotta go. It isn’t too far off of the freeway and well worth the trip.

An unexpected hidden gem — I still have dreams about Tacos La Potranca De Jalisco’s carnitas burrito. Delicious and authentic Mexican food, competitive with the best in LA. If you’re even in King City, this place is worth a visit.

Every time I come to King City, I stop here for a burrito. This place is authentic and delicious. A great value. You can’t go wrong with a burrito or the sopes.

We were driving from Santa Barbara to the Bay Area and we needed to eat dinner at 9pm. We didn’t want to get the same old In-N-Out. This place showed up on Unilocal in King City. Its a little away from 101, but its pretty worth it to go here especially since theyre open till 10pm on Sunday. The $ 6 super burrito is truly super. It was the size of my head and super cheap. I personally had 4 beef tacos for just $ 6! The meat was a little overcooked, but it was late at night and probably been sitting around for awhile. Whatever, it was still pretty good. The sauce on there was a little spicy for me though :( The entrees come with pickled carrots and pepper. Parking was easy at night. Service is good. I definitely would come back here if traveling on the 101 between norcal/socal.

Got $ 6? You can have a cheap lunch date for two here, provided that you aren’t into all those extras … Like a bottle of wine; Or a full-service salsa bar with fresh tortilla chips; Or actual metal silverware and cloth napkins. But, if you like tacos — carnitas, lengua, asada — and are OK with pickled carrots and lemon slices on the side, you’re golden. My favorite taqueria in Central California is in Pescadero, just north of Santa Cruz on Highway 1, but I’d have to pay double the amount($ 12 plus extra for a bottle of Sierra Nevada) for a comparable meal, with a self-service salsa bar that is second to none. But, if you’re on the 101, and you’ve just had 6 pours of wine from 5-star Scheid Vineyards up the road, then TlPdJ is THE perfect post-wine tasting stop before heading off on your next adventure. Order outside, but eat in! The disco ball is worth it!

The reviews hyped this place up too much. The lengua was not that great, the spices in the pastor tasted fake(like the bottled meat seasoning from the store), and the carnitas were soft but no flavor. Cheap prices but I’ve definitely had better. The service was good and the bathroom was pretty clean.

Great place to eat as everything is so fresh and the best quality food. Be sure to stop by on your way to or from home right off the 101 exit in King City. One of the cleanest facilities you will find.

Without a doubt worth the short drive from the freeway. We were on our way back to San Francisco and advised to stop here. Great quality meat for a fantastic price. Best tacos I’ve had in a while, and I don’t say that lightly. The lengua was extremely flavorful and tender. The biggest surprise were the tacos de cabeza that my boyfriend got, definitely the best of the 4 types of meat we got(lengua, cabeza, tripe and pastor) If you’re looking for a quick, satisfying Mexican meal with taco stand vibe with ample seating this is the place.

So good, got 4 chicken tacos for 6 $ and was absolutely satisfied! THEYCAMEWITHPICKLEDCARROTSOMG! So delicious! The chicken was seasoned perfectly, Pretty greasy but totally okay with me! Cilantro and onion was good, the salsa was good but not very spicy… Tolerable for any gringos out there… But I usually Ike it spicier! It also came with two lemons! Yum! THEWHOLEPLACEWASSOOOOOCLEAN! I will definitely be back if I come to King city!

I’m not sure what the fuss is about. Maybe people just like that the prices are relatively low for the amount of food you get. I’m going to assume that’s the case, because I was not the least bit impressed with my food from Tacos La Potranca de Jalisco. My girlfriend and I were driving from Paso Robles back to the Bay, and we saw the extraordinary reviews for this place on Unilocal,so we decided to pull into King City for lunch to check it out. She ordered four tacos(carne asada, pollo, pastor, carnitas), and I ordered a carne asada super burrito. The burrito was definitely substantial. The tortilla they used couldn’t hold all of the filling and had a split running down the center of it before I even took a bite. That would have been fine if the contents of the burrito were really flavorful, but they were«all filler no killer». The carne asada did have good flavor, but was really dry. The rice and beans only exacerbated the dryness of the burrito and only served to dilute the flavor of the meat. The burrito was sorely in need of some salsa, guacamole, sour cream, or really anything that could provide some more flavor. Eating the burrito felt like simply loading up on calories to provide energy. There was no joy in the process. As for the tacos, my girlfriend said they were good, but not exceptional. The restaurant itself needs work too. Outside, the air was around 45 F, but inside the dining area was even colder. It was way too cold for us to eat inside, so we ended up eating in our car. Judging by the lack of people in the restaurant and the number of people eating in their cars, it seems like everyone else thought the same thing. I know that it is rarely cold in California, but they could at least have a small space heater. Also, the bathroom was filthy. Water was shooting out the top of the toilet tank and onto the toilet seat and the floor. Overall, I found the food here to be completely mediocre and not worth pulling off the highway for.

Who knew that all the way down in King City would be an awesome little taqueria?! We were driving up from SoCal and decided to make a food stop. I did a Unilocal search and this place had the most reviews. Luckily my fiancé sometimes works in King City and had been here, but he just didn’t know the name. So we were both thinking of the same place! I got 4 tacos — lengua, carnitas, asada and pastor. All the tacos were good, but the pastor was a little too satly for me. THe Lengua and the carnitas were the best! The lengua was chopped up in cubes, not shredded… some parts you can see the texture of the tongue, which kinda threw me off. I didn’t eat that piece haha. My fiancé got the chicken quesadilla, which apparently is normally really good, but had an off day(i wasn’t that impressed with it…). The horchata on the other hand is definitely one of the best! It was nice and creamy and not too sugary. I wish I had gotten my own! I would definitely come back here if I was hungry driving up or down the 101!

Best tacos in town, and they will only cost you a buck and some change per taco. I probably ate here way more than I should, but you cannot go wrong with the tacos. I’ve tried the burritos here. I’ve tried the torta here. But everytime, I just keep going back to the tacos. There are few places where the tacos are a better value than the burritos, but this place is one of them. It’s a low key joint located on the corner. I usually get four tacos, and mix up the meat options. The carne asada, pollo, pastor, and carnitas are excellent. They also come with carrots that have a mild spice which is my favorite part. Overall complaint I have is sometimes the tacos don’t consistently taste the same. I’ve tasted different types of tortillas used, sometimes they’re a little bit crispier, and sometimes they’re a bit greasier. Still love this place though. Of course, they got the jarritos to pair with the food. A+, anytime I’m on my down 101, I’d stop by this place for tacos.
