This is a great little coffee spot by the lake. Good drinks, cool vibe and perfect for hanging out and reading one of the local papers. Internet service is pretty good too.

Great local coffee shop with waffles, breakfast sandwiches and sweet artwork. Friendly staff that made the best americano I’ve had in Tahoe area! It’s the place to go if you’re in the north lake area.

Ordered a large almond latte from a long list of flavors and while it was perfect for a cold morning in Tahoe it didn’t do too much for me. Too sweet, not strong enough, and expensive … I should have asked for half the amount of syrup. Perhaps the sugar made me crash rather than pick me up. We ended up going back to our cottage 2 hours later where I had another large cup of coffee. This isn’t normally necessary for me but I couldn’t hang even though I had a decent amount of sleep the night before. The Java hut is a small cozy place but without much seating for you to want to linger around. Lines were out the door with Ironman spectators. Service was slow. Bathroom was clean.

Locals run and local feel, and awesome fresh smoothies. The wife asked for a recommendation and the nice young lady offered a peanut butter, mango, and almond milk smoothie, and the wife loved it! We just needed something to cool off, but hear their coffee and other menu is tasty too. We will be back next time we are in Tahoe for sure!

Came here for the Tahoe Nalu stand up paddle boarding race. It is near Kings Beach. We ordered Chai Tea Latte and the waffle that had syrup inside. The waffle with syrup inside was delicious. It was moist and surprised us with the maple flavor. But the down side was that we waited about 20 minutes for the tea. They gave our tea to others or catered to locals that came after us.

The now Java Hut is a big disappointment in comparison to what it used to be. I suppose there is new management but they literally do not have much to offer like they used to. The servers are young and friendly so it’s not them. It just seems that the new owners do not really care to cater to people anymore. They run out of pastries, they can’t offer you a decent breakfast sandwich because the owners haven’t bothered to buy any tomatoes or avocados. Hard to understand why! Can’t give it more than 2 stars unfortunately.

The Java Hut is directly across Tahoe Paddle and Oar. So this means I come here almost every time I go up to KB. Its usually the last stop before heading back to Reno. The oatmeal smoothie was my favorite but have not been able to order it because of lack of ingredients the last 3 times I’ve gone in. No big deal, I’ll just keep trying or should I just give up? The last draw though was this past weekend. I brought a friend up to go paddle boarding and raved about Java Hut to him. We came in and there were 4 or 5 girls working behind the counter. Almost a little confusing to me, especially because there was not much space behind the counter. The menu, written on a blackboard, was hard to read; it had way too much random things around it. Wasn’t really sure what I was looking at so I had to ask the cashier for some clarifications. I wanted the oatmeal smoothie and low and behold, its not available again. What a surprise. The ONLY smoothie available that day was the Wildberry smoothie. They still have all their coffee drinks so I just ended up ordering an iced caramel maple drink. We also wanted some food, but guess what — the only breakfast sandwich they had that day is the Egg, Bacon, Cheese Bagel Sandwich. Normally, they would have a full menu of sandwiches, but not that day. We were hungry so we ordered it anyways. The wait was not bad– my friend got his drink first, he ended up ordering the only smoothie on the menu– Wildberry. First try and holy sweetness. It tasted like syrup and artificial flavors all mixed up with a berry flavor. I don’t think I tasted one hint of real fruit from that drink. Then my drink came out and yet again holy sweetness. It was so sweet that I had to ask one of the girls working, to add more milk to level off the sweetness. It helped but the drink itself needed more that just milk, it needed to be completely redone. Few minutes later, our bagel sandwiches were ready; wrapped in a foil and nice and warm. The sandwich itself was über oily, like it was drenched in oil. If you can get pass that, the sandwich was pretty good. I know that this place is under new owners for the last year, which I thought would make things better overall but it seems like it’s the opposite. It’s a great location but parking can be tough. It’s a nice stop before or after KB but if they want to continue to stay open, some major improvements really need to happen.

Friendly people, good coffee, right on the lake. What more could you ask for in a great coffee shop? I really like this place, and most of all, I liked the owner. She is a fantastic person, and her little beachside coffee shop reflects her great attitude. I recommend this coffee shop with highest regards, for the endevors of the new ownership, and the fantastic service I received.

Decent place to get a coffee if you’re on the run, but god, I hate the parking around here. You literally risk life and limb if you park on the street with cars whizzing by. Spaces are limited anyway, so if I do come, it’s early in the morning and a quick getaway. Forget a weekend afternoon in the summer — so difficult to get parking. On the plus side, off-season, it’s nice to get a coffee with friends and then walk to the beach to take in the view.

Eh. Coffee is ok. Service was sub-par(both times, the barista was more concerned with chatting up their friends than waiting on me). But, in Kings Beach, this is the best option. So, kind of an «it is what it is» case. Hey, better than motel coffee!

Good location but that’s where it stops. Asked for a soy chai latte because I’m lactose intolerant. When the drink was ready I tried to confirm that it was soy but the guy behind the counter ignored me. He was also rude and made me pay a dollar when I grabbed the day old croissant instead of the croissant I purchased. Maybe this place relies on tourists for high prices and no customer service.
