When I came here, I was expecting some gringo Mexican food. I felt a lot better when I heard Spanish spoken around me. Then, I got some gringo Mexican food. They have an extensive menu. They offer tacos, burritos, and other junk. But they seem to have an authentic Mexican section as well that offers tortas, huraches, sopes, and border tacos. Border tacos differ from the other tacos because it’s made from homemade tortilla. The«non-border» tacos they have are made from flour tortillas. And they’re hard taco shells, although you can get them soft as well. Because I’m an idiot, I got the burritos. The burritos was on the American menu side. It comes in 2 sizes: Chico and Grande. The Grande is your standard big, fat burrito you can get at Willy’s or Moe’s. The Chico is a bit smaller. The tortilla is flour and it’s pretty much like Willy’s or Moe’s. The beans seemed overcooked and the meat felt tough. I should’ve gone with the«authentic» menu items. Why did I choose a freaking burrito? I guess I was hungry and couldn’t think straight. Well, I give it 2 stars for food. I give it an extra star because the woman working there seemed polite and very nice.

Meh… not too bad, but nothing about which to brag. Family-owned, it’s nice to support small business, but the food is just sort of middle-of-the-road. Guacamole is fresh, but a bit bland… the tortas are huge/messy/very exciting!

Nom-Nom! ^__^ This place was better than I expected! It has that fast-casual feel and looks like it would be similar to Qdoba or Moe’s. It kinda is and kinda isn’t Is: It’s that same assembly-line build your own burrito, taco, quesadilla, nacho place. They have black or re-fried beans, choice of meat(no tofu, yes fish), green or red salsa, pico del gallo, lettuce, fresh cilantro, black olives, other veggies, guacamole, sour cream, cheddar cheese and white queso cheese. You seem to get chips and salsa with everything.(The salsa is spicy and authentic!) Isn’t: They have a chef there that makes entrees off a more authentic«Mexican Specialties» menu. I noticed one patron had one of these meals(it was on a big plate instead of a basket) and he looked very satisfied with it. They also serve breakfast. O. O The chef prepared food for my husband and I. Since this was our first visit, we were asking lots of questions. When we asked what kind of fish was used on the fish tacos, we were told fried tilapia. I made a face. x__X The chef/owner picked up on my face,(which i really appreciated) and said that he could have the other chef grill the talipia. To that we said«give us two of those!» The fish was excellent. It was blackened and flaky. And unlike other assembly line restaurants, we could have anything we wanted on our tacos. Sour cream and their wonderful guacamole was no extra charge. The atmosphere is so-so.(It has a tv!) It’s in a newer, strip-restaurant area right off the interstate. It’s between a Dunkin’ Donuts and a nail salon. There is also a Japanese grill and a fish restaurant in the same center. The service was friendly and accommodating. The food was great and of nice quality for a quick and inexpensive meal. ^__^
