We had a really nice dinner here! I used to work at the Von’s that was next door(which became a Haggen, and now it’s empty), many years ago, and I’ve never eaten here. Crazy I know! The man had a charbroiled fish burrito, and I had nachos with chicken. The burrito looked really good, and the man said it tasted really good. Very good ratio of fish to burrito ingredients. My nachos were pretty good, maybe could have used some lettuce or tomatoes. But I did love that they had the salsa bar. That’s where I found some delicious salsa, perfect pico de gallo, and onions. Mmmm! Lots of tables, great service, and someone was always making sure everything was clean.

Baja Fish Tacos does a variety of Tex-Mex style food ranging from burritos to tacos. This place can be seen as a casual family lunch outing kind of place. The service is pretty straightforward in terms of ordering first and then grabbing a table with your number and the food will be brought out to you. FOOD: I tried the bowl(black beans and fish) and fish taco. I will say the bowl is pretty decent, but the fish taco was not as good as I would have hoped. Maybe I needed even more condiments than what was provided for me, but even with the addition of the salsa and the likes, I found the fish to be a bit overcooked for me and not as flavorful as I would have hoped. Chips and guac are good though! SERVICE: I mean, not much to comment here. There is the station in the back where you get all the salsa that you would like, common in many places in Mexican places in California. This place is great if you were just in Monarch Beach or driving down from/to LA and SD and you wanted to pass by San Clemente/Laguna Niguel/Dana’s Point area.

I’m not a picky eater but this food was bad. I ordered a fish taco and cheese enchilada with rice and beans. I went to take a bite of my beans and there was a substance that had the consistency of mucus hanging off the spoon. Not sure what this was but decided it probably wasn’t good to eat. Cheese enchiladas are my favorite food, I’ve never had one I didn’t like, this one was gross. The fish taco was cold and just came with a bunch of cabbage on it. It was extremely bland. The server who took my order was unfriendly and spent most of her time glaring at people. Don’t let the high rating fool you this place isn’t good.

Like many have said, the rice and pinto beans are so ridiculously good, like really really good. The Baja fish tacos are soo delicious as well. And don’t even get me started on how good the Shrimp burrito is, order it wet. They have a killer salsa bar with flavor and heat profiles for all types.

They have the best tasting shrimp. So any dish with their shrimp is delicious. I prefer their shrimp taco and could eat it every day.

Great staff, fast service, consistently good food. All of the Laguna Niguel police officers seem to eat here also, which tells you something. The blackened fish tacos are a definite win, same for the blackened fish burrito. Only downside is there is not much outdoor seating to speak of, so you are confined to sitting inside where it’s usually rather loud.

We love this place. Great to take the family to. I get the blackened fish tacos– bravo style. Ask for it next time you won’t be disappointed. They always get the food out fast– a big plus when you have an anwry three year old. Their guacamole is something special– done just right. Only complaint is I wish their salsa was a little yummier.

Amazed! Went to Monarch beach with my family and decided we want to eat something. Thanks to Unilocal and the reviews for pointing us to the right direction. This place is very good. We went for lunch and came back for dinner and back for lunch again the next day. Yeah I know but thats not exaggerating it this place is that good. Their meat here is just too good its very tasty and flavorful, I think the cut of meat is also quality because they have no fat which is good, Salsa bar is great and the service was excellent their staff is friendly and comes to check up on you and takes your plate when you are done eating. So the next time we are in town were definitely coming back here.

It’s the go-to spot for a casual lunch or dinner with good Mexican food and beers. The kids love it and dads love it for the TV’s, chips and salsa and aforementioned beer. My favorite thing is the carne asada Baja bowl with seasoned white rice, pinto beans, Jack cheese, pico de gallo, and guacamole. TJ loves the carne asada nachos for all the cheese they put on them. Victoria gets just the bean and cheese burrito and Sophie likes what I get. The chips and salsa bar are great to get during a game or just as an appetizer. To wash it down they have Dos Equis Amber, which is my favorite Mexican beer, as well as XX Lager. They have my 2nd favorite Bohemia as well as Pacifico, Modelo, Negra Modelo, Victoria, and crappy Corona. It’s a good place for both family and friends for both the food & drinks and atmosphere.

Fantastic place to grab fish tacos! The quality here is amazing, I love their salsa bar and the service is great too. My husband loves the breaded fish, I get it grilled, usually on a salad or bowl which is a much better value then the tacos, that are pretty overpriced at $ 4 each. Nice, clean location, plenty of seating and very nice staff. Perfect, light lunch that won’t weigh you down or leave you feeling guilty the rest of the day.

Amazing unwrapped Shrimp burrito. Is actually fresh shrimp on greens extremely delicious I don’t even use dressing(champagne dressing) shrimp are so juicy. I’ve probably had this 50 times at that Laguna Niguel location And that’s no exaggeration!!! #best

Really. This place has fallen. Bad bad food. We used to eat here then the place got crappy in 2009-ish. So we waited it out and tried later,. Like years later — was so so. But then we went on Tuesday night. Totally sucky. Ordered a shrimp burrito. It was cold. Even the«toasted» burrito exterior was cold. The cooked shrimp was cold,. Like out of a fridge cold. The burrito had been wrapped super loose to make it look fat. You squeeze it and it turns into a Taco Bell. My other half paid extra for nachos with carne and grilled chicken. OMG– the plate was mostly broken chip crumbles and shitty cheese. A ton of cheese. Like gross lumps of cheese. We found 3 tiny cubes of chicken,.a small spoon full of meat and they hid any and all beans. The plate was terrible. The family next to us ordered similar plates and it was so bad for her too that they could not do much with their lumpy cold congealed cheese lump. I know white people love this place. But I have zero idea why. We paid almost 20 bucks for a burrito and nachos. We were so dissatisfied. The night was a bust. We wanted to do our fav place in San Clemente but it was closed. Then we tried brio there down the hill and it had a bad dj music disaster,. Then we settled for Baja Fish Tacos and that was a bust so we went to WHOLEFOODS! Got a sandwich and a slice of hot pizza and salad. It was not our desired night of Mexican food. We went to Teds but at 8:40 at night there were about 30 people waiting outside to get a table. Arrrgh– why does this area have such blah food sometimes?

This is our families go to every Friday night. We love their fish tacos, shrimp nachos, chicken bowl and chicken enchaladas! The grean salad with champagne dressing is a great start to any meal. :)
