Cute, hole in the wall bbq joint! Absolutely juicy flavorfull, fall of the bone ribs! Homemade bbq sauces are to die for! Prices are so reasonable and a beautiful view of the lake, why would someone NOT want to stop and have lunch or dinner here!

Don’t judge this book by its cover! We wanted BBQ and this place delivered. The ribs were deliscious! Wasn’t to wild about the Mac and cheese or the potato salad but the fries were good. Customer service was outstanding. Great Lake view.

I heard so many great local reviews about the food that I took a lunch date to try the food. We never managed to eat. Before entering the small shack while getting out of my car I see a patio behind the shack where I believe the BBQ is cooked. It appeared dirty with possible grease being soaked into the side of the building running down the patio to the bottom of the shack.(There should be something to catch grease under the cooking area) under there you see two doors, one is broken and dilapidated into a room they look in severe ill repair. Then I look up and see the Windows facing the lake, they appeared dirty. We went inside despite the outside appearance and was very unimpressed with the appearance and lack of cleanliness. I know it is a shack however there never should be dirty areas in a kitchen or restaurant, I have worked in the industry for years when younger. Upon looking around at the ceiling, floors, and Windows I decided that normal cleanliness was not a high issue and left. I don’t want to chance if they cannot manage maintenance or cleanliness of the building then why would they care how my food is handled? That is my personal experience with food places, if they are lazy on cleanliness that you can see what goes on where you cannot see? I was embarrassed at needing to find a new lunch place fast as my date was from out of town and wanted to have lunch while viewing the lake. He didn’t seem to mind at all and did ask me out again! I was afraid it may have appeared I was a bit of a negative person. In my life I have now walked out of 5 total restaurants due to cleanliness and I’m over 40! In defense of the floor, it may have just looked dirty due to the type of tile and it’s color? If that is the case it needs replaced. The window also may appear dirty and dingy due to age, if however you have a lakefront property it is a main priority that the Windows be clear and clean because it is a major reason people get pulled to the restaurant. Glass windows and cheap flooring is an affordable appreciation in business enterprise to gain capitol on your investment.

Pork ribs sell out fast so call ahead and order to make sure to get some, they are tender and delicious without the sauce, which is served on the side if you want it. Fries were yummy the rest of the sides wasn’t really to my taste. The waitress Rachel was amazing really enjoyed her personality and honesty would come back.

Ribs were smokey and were good and fries too. Rachel waitress is the best. Try this place you will like it and can see the water and dine in. Beans, potato salad, and Mac n cheese not my favorite. Really nice people though.

Okay, so I came here with high hopes for this place. But what a big let down! Boyfriend and I both ordered two diff sandwiches so we can try two different things and oh boy. So the pulled pork sandwich was just dry and had no flavor, the tri tip sandwich was alright, it wasn’t as flavorful as I thought it to be as well. The sides, we both decided to get the same thing which was the Mac and cheese because the server ranted about how great it was, so to my dismay I went with it and yea, another let down! Maybe with a few drinks in me it would of been OKAY! But wait! The worst part they only had one type of BBQ sauce that wasn’t even great sad to say. My suggestion bring your own BBQ sauce to drench the crap out of your food

Its the portion size, onsite smoking, and the homemade BBQ sauce which you can purchase too. My new favorite BBQ spot. You must try the mac & cheese with bacon it is the bomb.

The food is consistently amazing. I just had their daily special, which you won’t find on the menu. I don’t remember the name but it was a chili cheeseburger, the patty was deep fried. Never had anything like it. Amazing. I am a breakfast person and the breakfast is HEARTY, my wife likes the smoked chicken breast, sometimes on a salad. All the customers are talking about how good the food is every time I am here. Hopefully they will build a deck on the back of the building soon. Great.

I regret coming into this place on a not so empty stomach. The meat came completely off the bone… the spicy bbq sauce had just the right kick. The fries had just the right amount of season. The sprite was perfect with the food. The waiter was awesome, the owner im assuming hooked it up with some meat to go. But i didnt get to finish the chili sauce because i already had a food baby… Best bbq ive had in socal. Norcal — busters Socal — Jacks bbq shack. Plain and simple.

1st time there last night Bought the meal for 4 people $ 39. Could have fed 5 – 6 with it Very very good ribs. Shared a monster burger with my grandson as well. I think it was a 1⁄3 pounder. Delicious. Potato salad is excellent. Will make this a go to spot when I visit the grandkids every time

Quite possibly the best ribs I’ve ever had. Any real bbq fan will tell you that the sauce should never overpower the meat. The sauce should simply compliment the meat. But what happens when a rib is so good it doesn’t need sauce? What happens when a rib kicks sauce to the curb and laughs? «I don’t need you sauce! You’re not in control! I am! I’m the boss of the sauce!» I’ll tell you what happens. You immediately realize that you can never eat a meal with yo mama in this place because the ribs are so good they’ll make you want to slap yo mama(and I love my mama)! –I am The Food Governor

Great BBQ at a great price. I got the try tip sandwich with fries and it was fresh in the meet was an overseas and in the barbecue sauce, which I only used just a little bit, it was delicious as well. Jack and his crew never disappoint. And to sit at a table overlooking the lake was pretty cool as well

We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. We were greeted by the very friendly & attentive waitress. I ordered the bacon burger & my boyfriend ordered the pork ribs for 1. We couldn’t decide on our sides, so we got a few of each, you will not be disappointed with the Mac n cheese or the beans!!! As we sat waiting for our food, Jack brought us a huge sample of the ribs, chili & his HOTBBQ sauce. I thought that was a nice thing to do since it was our first visit! First of all, these are HUGE portions! We got a to go box for lunch & maybe even dinner again tomorrow. The fries were excellent & my burger was cooked perfect, very flavorful. We’ll definitely be back! I ant wait to try their breakfast burritos!

We almost turned the car around… After hours spent at the Orange Empire Railway Museum, we were hungry and wanted to try some local eats. Unilocal lead us to this place and when we pulled up, we we’re a bit sketched. The wifey said it’s literally a shack and parking was in a gravel lot. Anyways, the friends and fam decided to try it anyways. We’re so glad we did. Though I would still consider it small, the eatery was roomier inside than it looked on the outside. There’s also a great view of the lake from the inside. The menu looked great. There was lots of options to satisfy the whole group and the kiddies. The workers were all super nice and welcoming. The owner even gave us all a sample of the Chili, which was very tasty. The wifey really enjoyed her ribs ordered, my boy loved the bacon topped Mac and Cheese and I had a great Tri Tip Sandwich. The portions were huge. Thank you Jack’s BBQ Shack for being so awesome to us.

My wife and I stopped by again for an early dinner. We ordered the tri tip and pork sandwiches with a side of fries and mac and cheese. All extremely good and I can’t get enough of the mac and cheese. Jack, please add a sweet bbq sauce.

Want some delicious, fall off the bone, super huge juicy ribs with homemade bbq sauce, affordable, and the friendliest staff to help you?! This is the place. Located right by the banks of lake elsinore. It’s a small place, but gives the meanest bbq in town! Plus, Jack, the owner, is super friendly which creates a whole atmosphere of some good eatin.

This was a nice find along the shore of Lake Elsinore. Jack’s BBQ Shack is located on Lakeshore Drive. To park, there is a downward slope towards the shore. They have a few paved spaces on their lot, but public parking is adjacent. Upon walking in, what to do/how to order was a little confusing. Immediately to the left is the register, to the right is counter seating and the kitchen, and the rest of the space is table seating. Since it was prime time lunch hour, all seats save for the counter were taken, so I wasn’t sure whether to wait to be seated or order at the register, where a long line had formed. The only menu I could find was at the counter, and after looking I went to order at the register. In line, a server came up to me and had me pick where to sit. I opted to sit outside on the patio seating. The building blocked the lake view(which is actually more visible through the windows inside), but shaded the benches so it was fresh out there. I ordered the Beef BBQ Sandwich. At $ 8.99 + tax, it came with a side and drink, which is a good value. While the meat had a nice smoky flavor to it, I felt the need to add lots of barbecue sauce to the sandwich. The sauce had a good consistency and taste to it. The fries weren’t as crispy but had a nice seasoning on them. From the first visit, the food was okay for me, but I would need to try other items on the menu(tri-tip, ribs) to see if those meats would be juicier. Once seated, though, the service was really good. The food came out fast and the server was attentive and friendly.
