HORRIBLE! We waited 50 minutes for our take out. one employee putting together bag orders. Seemed very confused and overwhelmed. Order was wrong when we got home. We called the store and they said they would comp our order. Instead they charged us TWICE!

Overall quality is good. The price is high for lunch, usually costing you anywhere from $ 7 to $ 10.

Normally I wouldn’t take the time to write a review about a fast food joint, but this place is awesome. Great service and friendly staff.

A coworker and I ordered lunch from this location today because we had a coupon and a deal for a complimentary order of cream cheese wontons. The Pick Up Stix website describes the cream cheese wontons as an order of 6, filled with a mixture of cream cheese, green onion and water chestnuts. Well, the complimentary order was only 3. Wahhhh, wahhh. Totally cheaped out. Like, honestly, how much is their food cost on these? A quarter? If you’re trying to win new business this isn’t the way to do it. Anyway, they didn’t taste of green onion or water chestnuts. Pretty bland. The coworker and I unfortunately ordered the same entrée, chicken pad Thai because a previous Unilocal review said it was great. I don’t know what that reviewer is talking about. This is the worst pad Thai I’ve ever eaten. I make better pad Thai and I’m whiter than a Chicago winter. I do have high standards, as the restaurant I worked at in college was Thai, and chef Chun made beautiful, delicious food. But I set my expectations that PUS would be of the garden variety«Panda Express» type food. It wasn’t even up to Panda Express standards. It was so sweet and syrupy I could hardly get through half of it. And they forgot to include the lime slices I’d requested, so I couldn’t cut the sweet with sour, either. They get one star because my fortune cookie told me I’d be coming into money in the near future. I’m going to go buy my lotto ticket now.

This location serves Asian-inspired food. There are not a lot of seats indoors, but they also have outdoor seating. Although I usually order actual food here instead instead of just appetizers, my stomach wasn’t empty. There weren’t a lot of wontons in the soup, so maybe in this case it is «wonton flavored» soup. It was nice and hot… even hotter than that at Souplantation(although it did burn my tongue, so maybe I should have added ice cubes). It tasted no different than the store-bought kind, though, but at least there were vegetables in there, which store-bought ones normally don’t carry. The prices for the food are quite high at $ 7.79+ for meal items(without coupons) and I don’t like to spend a lot of money. The staff is very friendly, though.

Wish there was a zero starts option. Went in with a coupon from a local event and despite the printed October expiration date on the cotton, was told it was«no good, but, I’ll accept it», as he said the event ended on the 14th. Many other businesses have expiration dates through the end of the year. this is a bad way to do business; I walked and will never be back. Many better places for Chinese good in the area.

For $ 8.29(regular portion, excluding a drink) I got a fulfilling lunch WAYBETTERTHANPANDA! Thai Coconut Chicken with white rice– too hot to eat, temperature wise. I waited about 8 minutes before being able to eat it… what I ate was pretty standard but good. The curry had only carrots and onion in it, while the chicken was cut generously.

Pick Up Stix’s is a good alternative in the Asian inspired food category. We came here this evening, since it’s been nearly ten years since we last saw or ate in a Pick Up Stix(back in Illinois). Truthfully, it wasn’t bad then, and yes, I believe it’s Three Stars«A-Okay» now. We ordered the General Tso’s Chicken which we upgraded to include LoMein for $ 10.28. It came with no vegetables and was served in two separate boxes(photo). This was curious since we were dinning in. It was also prepared in two different sauces, so you couldn’t mix the boxes or plate them. Go figure, but I did like the hint of heat from the chicken. My partner ordered some Pad Thai Chicken for $ 7.79. It had virtually no peanuts and seemed breaded(?). Though we did like it’s presentation. Meaning, it didn’t come in a box and was served on a plate. LOL The employees here were all great, very helpful and sincerely friendly. As this review indicates, we generally enjoyed ourselves and might come back when we are in the area. In our opinion, the winner of the Asian inspired food category continues to be Pei Wei. Our tab came to $ 24.15 including one beverage.

House Special Chicken is my favorite here. When I got my order I am a little disappointed but totally my fault cuz I ordered the wrong one. The manager came by and asked how’s everything. Told him what happened and said. oh no big deal I will make the one that you like and enjoy the rest tomorrow. I felt so embarrassed but totally blessed by his generosity. I am totally a fan. Their staff is so friendly and very very sweet :)

If you are a fan of Asian food but prefer a healthier version, this is your place. The restaurant is clean, the staff courteous, and the food reasonably priced and tasty. No MSG is used in their cooking, unlike many other Asian restaurants. I recommend the Pad Tai Noodles with Chicken. They don’t disappoint!

The food is delicious! This place has great offers and it’s right by where I work. Call in and 15 minutes later, my order is ready. Fresh, delicious and on point in taste. The people are nice, the environment is great. Whenever I crave Chinese food I always go here. Yummy!

THISISNOT A JAPANESERESTAURANTEVER! This menu is away far from any of Japanese foods and this place is the insult!!! I went to this place a few years ago to order to go. Too salty, too much sauce, and I did not even feel I was eating Asian foods. These are more like Mexican Asian foods. I couldn’t finish all the foods and throw away. Gross :(

Pick Up Stix is Asian food right? This is a question I get asked a lot. My best rule of thumb if you are ever unsure about the authentic of Asian food: Asian Fusion, Chinese & Korean, Vietnamese & Chinese, Chinese & Donuts= bad, try for restaurants that specialize in one style of cuisine. Also, avoid places that have any of the following words written on the front window«Good Chinese Food», «Best Chinese Food in OC», «gourmet», or «fine dining». Most authenticity places will have the words Golden or Dragon or a specific name: Wong, Chan, etc the only exceptions to the rule(Pei Wei, PF Chang’s, Panda Express). Last but not least. If you can’t find a Unilocal review for an Asian restaurant PERFECT! It will be good. If you see a special menu written in another language besides English JACKPOT! One last tip, although I love Asian food never have this conversation with your Asian friend… «So you are Chinese, right? Do you know any good Thai Restaurants? How do you say bbq pork bun in Vietnamese?» The crazy thing is… despite all of my rules and regulations. Pick Up Stix makes some pretty decent food. This is a chain restaurant and the quality varies from location to location, but if you are very desperate for some Asian food and there are only fast food options I say try Pick Up Stix. I like the cook-to-order style instead of ordering random combos. You can order a lot of dishes and share family style with other people. That’s how we do! The price is more than Pei Wei so you may want to look for daily and weekly specials. This is place is my guilty pleasure sometimes. It’s like my McDonald’s. For the non-Asians, this place should blow your socks off. You can indulge in egg rolls, wontons, and fried noodles until your stomach goes in to a greasy food coma. All of the classic dishes you have heard of are available. If you are feeling adventurous or you lived in the OC/LA your whole life, please refer back to my rules. I can’t recommend this place. It has a lot of fried goodness, but depending on your expectations you may either love or hate this place. I think the food hear is okay, I’ve had worse. If you are picky about your food, don’t go here. If you want some thing quick and you think taco bell is nasty, this is a good lunch time option. Sorry I couldn’t be more help, but I’m 50⁄50 on this place. I like it some times, but hate it other times.
