This place is very clean and well designed. The food quality was nothing special. If your into quality Thai, I recommend an alternative restaurant.

I ordered the shrimp pad thai-noodles were overcooked and it was just so plain. I do believe they are now closed.

First time here and found it because of Unilocal!I am an avid fan of Thai food and since there’s not too many good Thai restaurants in Irvine, decided to try this place out. Service was polite and we were served pretty quickly. Decided to order the Tom Kha soup and the house special fried rice. The soup was average as it wasn’t as milky as other places. The fried rice was awesome though! It was seafood, with eggs and a bunch of other vegetables. It had a surprisingly sweet taste but overall was delicious! For desert we got the mango sticky rice. The sause was overly sweet and I was not too impressed with it. Also the mangos weren’t too ripe and tasted kind of firm. Overall, I think Thai Corner is more authentic than here although they claim to be very authentic. I’d probably come here again or go to the nearby Thai Corner if I was craving some local Thai food!

A practice I wish to discourage is when the server wraps your credit card with the customer-copy receipt. I’ve forgotten my card or misplaced when they do this. I’m getting old and forgetful so I don’t need help to forget my card by hiding it! My last visit, was disappointing too. I felt like a cucumber salad. They dumped boiled shrimp on it. I didn’t want the shrimp, and it wasn’t in the description on the menu. I asked the waiter if I had received the wrong order. He said no, the cook just decided to add shrimp. He said I didn’t have to eat it. The problem is the shrimp juice is now all over the cucumbers and salad. I ordered a bowl of soup, and it was bland and disappointing too. To top it off with me forgetting my ATM card, made the whole visit a disaster. I won’t be returning any time soon. I just replaced my ATM card and closed that number.

Service was very polite. VERY. Everything was«ma’am» and«sir». Hands you a menu, «how are you doing today, ma’am?» Ordered pad see yew and tom yum soup. By the way, check in with Unilocal if you’re ordering 3 entrees or more! HINT! HINTYHINT. Tom Yum was delicious but saaaaalty. Salty and flavorful. Yummy, but I could’ve used some rice with(or in) it. with some water. Pad see yew was delicious. Also ordered a Thai Iced Coffee. and the first time it came, I saw little white spots floating up top after I mixed it(bad milk???). Asked the waiter about it and he looked at it for a second, immediately took it away and brought another one without question. At the end of our meal(restaurant was getting full), a second waiter came around and asked us if we wanted water, took our leftovers and packaged them up. –1 for slow service.

If i had to summarize my two visits here so far, I’d say that the service is just slow. if you’re in a rush to grab a lunch here, call in early. i’ve seen another table do that, and get their food just as they arrived at the restaurant. as for the food though, this is a good thai place. for $ 6.95, they offer a good variety of lunch special items. I’ve gotten the pad see ew both times, and while the quantity may seem small on the large plate they give you with a side salad and fried wonton chip, the portions are actually perfect for me for a lunch. the restaurant is located in a small strip mall along rockfield. the dining area looks very«hip» and very well lit. the server(same both times during weekday lunchtime), while friendly, can be a tad inattentive, often passing by us without taking our check, or missing our call to ask for napkins/chopsticks/other items. all in all though, i’d gladly come back here for lunch. i’m just going to call in next time!

Everything about this place has gone downhill. It makes me so sad to write this review, but after much consideration, I feel that I must be honest to myself. Here it goes… Service is the absolute worst. One guy running the show, which I can understand because usually Twisted Noodle isn’t busy, but when they are, boy are they understaffed! And their kitchen! It’s as if they have only one cooking pot/pan in the kitchen because each dish that is ordered from your table has a 5 – 10 minute cushion. I’m sorry but you can’t run a business this way. I felt bad for the party of 6 next to me. They literally had their dishes come out one by one every 5 – 10 minutes. I could totally see their frustration. Then there’s their food. I use to love their duck noodle soup but now, did their noodle change? It’s just not the same. They don’t even use the correct noodles for their pad see ew. Sheer disappointment. I use to come here once a week for lunch, but now I think I’ll have to pass.

The food was fine, the service/attitude was terrible. I visited Twisted Noodle for lunch today with a group from work(a total of 6). There was only one other equal sized table and a table of 2, across the entire restaurant. We arrived at 12:30, spent about 15 minutes seated before someone spoke with us, and then finally started to receive our food around 1:30. In other words, we waited more than an hour to even begin eating lunch on a work day. Next up, the final person to receive their food(nearly 30 minutes past the first, half the table was done at this point) was given a plate of brown rice. When he asked why(he didn’t order it), the waiter responded«we’re all out of white». A few minutes later he returned with«the last white rice» available, remarking that«it’s free»(thanks buddy). Honestly, all of this was frustrating, so at this point we decided we were simply not going to tip. Unfortunately, they decided to tip themselves on the bill for us. How considerate of them… The entire group was extremely annoyed and vowed not to return. Meh.

Oh how I wished I could love you. This day and age if you are an ethnic restaurant anywhere in Orange County you need to step things up to have a following. Mediocre and/or average just will not suffice. There are too many other options out there. Unfortunately I find Twisted Noodles in the average range. Let’s just start with the fact that BF and I were the only customers in the restaurant at 5:00 pm. During our 1 hour meal only one other customer arrived and it was to pick up a take out order. When I say 1 hour meal I mean 40 minutes waiting for it. I couldn’t help but wonder how long the food would take if the restaurant were full. Now I, for one, judge my entire Thai meal on the Pad Thai noodles. This is my favorite dish and it sets the standard. Oh what a disappointment. The noodles were gummy. The flavor just bland. The chicken bland. And folks, that was it! No onion, no sprouts, no flavor. The Thai fried rice was similar. Very little flavor. We ordered the crying tiger beef and were pleasantly surprised by the dipping sauce. It was wonderful. Thank Goodness! Our server was quite attentive. I cant help but think it was because we were the only customers. Sorry Twisted Noodles. Need to go elsewhere.

I really like this place. Their Thai food is freaking great. It is better than a lot of the food I actually had in Thailand. It’s in a weird spot but it’s a nice restaurant. Modern décor and nice service. Not a hole in the wall Thai place at all. My new go-to for lunch Thai. I’d recommend checking it out if you haven’t been and listening to your servers choices. They know their stuff in there.

My co-workers told me of this place last year. I ordered a chicken fried rice to go, very tasty. That made me want to dine in at their place to check out the rest of the menu, and finally I had a chance while hanging out with co-workers last week. I ordered the twisted sauté noodles with chicken. The noodles were the best I’d ever had – a little bit sweet to me at first fews bite, but the #7 spicy level was so hot that it beat the sweet after-taste. Their iced tea suffers from sugar overkill that loses the tea and cream flavor. I went back a couple of times and ordered this«to go.» IMHO, they are inconsistent with their spicy levels. I ordered a spicy level 5 and saw a red chili powder all over on top of my food inside the togo box(hey, I thought they supposed to mixed it in). The next time, I ordered on level 4 and it tasted like there was no chili in it. In the future, I might as well just order spicy level 0 and then get my own chili supplies. Later on, I took my retired co-worker out for lunch, we shared the chicken satay appetizer. The peanut sauce soaked into the chicken which brought out the flavor perfectly. My friend had the chicken curry and she said she loved it. I stuck with the one I know best – I know I’m breaking my own rule on the Thai food. Usually, I order the Pad Thai at any Thai restaurant. That’s my yard-stick for Thai food. The last time I came back for more sauté noodle with my co-worker. We shared an amazingly yummy pork curry. But after several visits, It seems like they’re serving smaller and smaller portions. This time, the food barely cover the dish. They’re giving less and less food every time I stop by for the same order ???

The service is friendly and quick but I wasn’t very impressed with the flavor. I was looking for some spicy pan fried thai noodles but what I got wasn’t well cooked and the flavor was slightly sweet and not very spicy at all.

6.95 for a lunch special that includes an entrée, crispy wonton, steamed rice, and a salad. Similar to Thai corner without the free Thai tea. I like that green curry is an option here because Thai corner doesn’t carry it… The food is fairly good and the menu has so many things to choose from. I am a fan of all of their stir-fried noodles, I especially like the clear noodles stir fried in curry(can you tell I’m a curry fan). I think it’s called the Singapore noodle? This place is great for a Friday lunch with a group! There are plenty of tables and if everyone chooses one dish it’s easy to share =) While I do come to this place occasionally, once every 2 weeks or so because I’m a fan of Pan-Asian food, I still have loyalty to Mimi at Thai Corner — the free Thai Tea is a big factor.

I looked to Unilocal for a good thai food place and this is what I found. For the life of me I could not figure out why this place was empty when I went to pick my to go order. The food was delicious. My bf and I ordered pineapple duck yellow curry, garlic pepper beef, and a noodle dish Rad Na. Ok the noodles were typical tasting. The beef dish was great we at all of it with the rice. And the Curry was amazing. I personally love pineapple in almost anything, but my BF doesn’t and he was pretty impressed with this dish. Great food decent price, the location in Lake Forest makes it a little pricey-er than the hole in the wall thai places I’ve been to in the past.

This place is a great value. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful; high quality food for a great price. I have had the thai chili basil chicken and the cashew chicken, which were both fantastic. The veggies were fresh, and the ratio of veggies to meat was perfect. I especially loved the chili basil chicken, the basil had such a great flavor and really took the flavor profile of the dish to another level. Also tried the pad thai which was pretty good, but nothing exceptional.

Very good, though have a few complaints(or recommendations). First, if you want it spicy, make sure you tell them that as she didn’t offer. Otherwise, it is really mild. Second, it bugs me when i go to an asian restaurant and they set the table with forks. And they dont even offer me chopsticks. Had to ask. Got the tom kha chicken. I really prefer this over tom yum, much against some of my friends preferences. Also got the phrick khing with beef. Was tasty. Lastly, they have a limited, but good, beer selection. Was very pleased I could get a large singha. All in all, a good choice. I’m glad I finally made it. Will probably try the $ 20 dinner for 2 special(picture posted). Awesome deal…

Nice little spot for lunch or dinner. Trying hard to look mod and cool, and kind of looks like they didn’t quite finish the re-model job, but it seemed clean and the staff was gracious and friendly. I had the green curry with shrimp from the lunch menu, and it was excellent. Vegetables and shrimp were fresh and not over-cooked. Curry had good spice and flavor, although next time I will ask for a little spicier, ’cause I likes it hot. There was a $ 15. minimum credit card order notice on the menu, and I wasn’t carrying cash, so I ordered another entrée to go for dinner, later. Drunken noodles with shrimp. Did I mention I love shrimp(ok– I’m a bad vegetarian, gotta get the tofu next time)? Anyhow, I was glad I did take a to-go, because their drunken noodle is killllller. Piled high with tasty veg. and the sauce with the noodle was perfection. Price wasn’t too bad, seemed about average, but the food was far above average and I will be returning for sure… gotta try the coconut soup.

I don’t even know where to start. This place was a little bit of a hot mess… The food is Thai but they have a sushi bar? It wasn’t awful however, not great enough to cover up the MAJOR problems in the restaurant such as, one waitress for the entire restaurant. Service was extremely slow, she was running around like a crazy person. I felt sorry for her. And what is with the sushi bar? and the décor? and having Japanese dishes on a Thai menu? When finally getting our dishes they did not come out at the same time, one about 10 – 15 mins after the other. We ordered the Thai Rolls, drunken noodles and pork noodle soup. My favorite part was the rolls however everything was pretty blah. I wish the soup had rice noodles instead of egg more like a phở. I don’t know fellow Unilocalers 4 stars? really?

3 ½ atleast with my first time visit, I really do want to try this place again though, within the Lake Forest area I like zen sushi but this place had gotten good reviews so I decided to try it. My order was to go and wasn’t anything special just a spicy tuna roll, a veggie hand roll and an order of salmon sushi it was good if not average, I was a little upset when I the veggie hand roll I ordered was cut up but not enough for me to have them remake it, the whole look of the place was really nice there wasn’t anyone in there when I went in but I think I would give this place another shot to wow me.

While hubby and I aren’t normally fans of Thai food(the flavor profile just isn’t our cup of tea), we thought we’d give this place a shot due to the reviews it’s been garnering since it’s the opening. Our server was very friendly and attentive until this really talkative couple came in and asked every question under the sun regarding Thai food. The conversation was loud and since at one point, we were the only two tables there, it was annoying. You know how those conversations go… flatter, flatter, awkward«Oh, I didn’t know you couldn’t eat that., laugh it off, flatter flatter, awkward«Wait, is there MSG in this?», flatter flatter, «OH yes, we’ll be back»(uttered no less than 4 times), flatter flatter«This is delicious!» The chef/cook lady came out and they were asking her questions translated by the server. At one point, the man leans forward to direct his comment at the cook and says in a raised voice because apparently not being to speak much English means she’s also deaf: «YOURFOODISVERYGOOD.» The food itself was very simple. The server basically rattled off a bunch of dishes, merely saying«X is good, X is also good. X is good, x is good, x is good.» I appreciated her enthusiasm but at some point someone should teach the poor girl a proper sales pitch that won’t leave people thinking that she loves EVERYTHING on the menu. She highly recommended the fried calamari which turned out to be unremarkable. The Thai rolls which she also recommended were basically the same kind of cheap veggie egg rolls that you get with your 2-choice box lunch at fast food Chinese places. The entrees were really where this place shined. We ordered the Massaman curry(potatoes, carrots, peas + protein) which was quite flavorful and nice(mild for those who like curry but not the heat). Then we also ordered the Thai basil and chili pepper stir fry with chicken which quite tasty as well(but no heat!). Hubby ordered the crispy noodles with brown gravy(Rad Na?) — we both felt this dish was over seasoned, very salty. I also ordered a small bowl of the Tom Kha as an add-on to our entrees. It was appropriately hot but way too sweet, I think. All in all, the food was alright though it confirmed our preference of other cuisnes over Thai food. During the conversation between nosy, chatty couple with our server, she confirmed that they do use sugar in quite a few of their dishes. As ½ of the nosy couple noted, he hopes they stick around long because they are in a pretty crappy location with high turnaround. I wish them the best of luck as well.
