Good service, didn’t spend too much time waiting to be seated and served, I was here around noon on a Tuesday. My food was great. This has been my second time, quick stop for lunch. I had the lunch special not bad for $ 9.95

Quality sushi. Arrive early(11 am) or between lunch and dinner times(1 am-3 pm). Wait times can be awhile if you want to sit at the bar. Make sure you go hungry to get plenty of food for the All You Can Eat.

Been coming here for a while and the service keeps going downhill. I think it’s time to find a new sushi place.

My favorite sushi place in the Av. Only worth it if you sit at sushi bar tho. Palmdale roll is to die for. I can eat that roll all day! If it’s busy you will be waiting a while for your rolls but it’s definitely worth it.

I am born and raised Japanese, so I get picky about so called«Japanese food» in the U.S.(most aren’t authentic nor run by a Japanese person). Besides that, food here has generally been good, nothing spectacular in specific, but I have yet to have anything bad, and I’ve been coming here for years. One thing I LOVE is their salmon sushi. Their salmon is nice and fatty, and it’s just wonderful! Their spicy tuna is on point for my taste too. Some people left reviews for here saying«Fish isn’t fresh», but you have to realize that most fish, especially tuna, you can’t consume it «fresh», because the meat is so tough right after its caught. It’s not my opinion, it’s a scientific fact. Most«fresh tuna» at restaurants are at least 4 days old, because that’s the«prime tender meat» time frame that most considered it to be delicious. …I can go on and on, but my point is, I have been to other Japanese restaurants in AV that has less quality fish and charges more, or worse yet, fish that’s borderline really old and smelly. Gross! I haven’t had that experience here at Big Tuna. Though, given a choice, I prefer Bigtuna Lancaster over Palmdale. I really enjoy the fact that their rolls aren’t drenched in overly sweet(or spicy or etc) sauce like Goldfish does their rolls. That style of serving really isn’t my cup of tea, so the way Big Tuna does it works for me. You can’t beat the all you can eat price though. Idk if the chinese looking older guy still works at the counter, but I’ve heard from my close friends that he’s terrible. He would give you roll that you didn’t order and argue that you did. So avoid that guy, and you should be ok :)

Too bad they don’t keep the sushi coming like the sake. Got all you can eat waited 20 minutes for a roll and when I finally got it, it was wrong and not how I ordered it. And that’s if he remembered that I ordered something… maybe have some of your chefs make food for the people in front of them and some for the tables… I came here for all you can eat but it was more like all you can wait.

I am working in Lancaster today and found this place by accident, but I’m glad I did! The service and food are amazing, as you can see by this beautiful rainbow roll! I also liked the fun, relaxed atmosphere

I’m torn on my review. The all you can eat is always yummy. The wait is almost always long. This location isn’t as bad as Palmdale, however, tonight they are apparently short on chefs, which is leaving 6 chairs empty with a line of people waiting to sit. We haven’t been addressed at all since we got here, which is rude to me. I hope they can shape up.

Yummy food, had a great time. The service was on point, Sal was our sushi chef and he did a good job. They might need some help seemed like he felt like he was swamped.

I came in on Sunday 11÷8÷15 around 7pm. When we go there we always get AMAZING service and great food. This last time we got into a problem, I usually do not eat the sushi I get a dinner combo. I don’t like sushi. My fiancée had ordered the all tou can eat sushi at the bar(he loves sushi) and he finally talked me into having a spicy tuna hand roll. I finally gave in and tried one. As I took my first bite a waitress felt obligated to say very ridley«you’re not suppose to share food.» Like… what??? And the throughout the night she was slamming my cup down, she actually ignored me a few times. I didn’t catch her name, she was someone I had never seen, cute oriental girl. But I was not impressed with her service or the way she spoke to me. If having 1 roll to TRY is a crime, I will be more wary of sampling the other food of my favorite restarant.

WARNING: DONOTDOAYCE this place blows. absolutely no PRO’s, this review is primarily for the AYCE sushi bar. maybe my opinion is a little biased since i have been to japan and tasted authentic sushi, but still… it doesnt excuse the cons listed below CONS: –low quality fish, not fresh at all –servers constantly watching over your shoulder making sure you lick the plate clean, otherwise they’ll charge you, even if its a little spoonful of rice that you didnt finish… constantly eyeing you like a hawk. that ruined my experience. I understand that some people waste food, but come on lady, i finished 95% of the dish and your still giving me crap about it… bad business. –sushi chefs giving mini portions of rolls and appetizers, and increasing the rice per fish ratio so you get full faster –sushi chefs using different cuts of sashimi for table customers vs AYCE customers, i swear, the yellowtail that he served me was not as vibrant in color and taste compared to the yellowtail he prepared for the table customers, and being that we sit at the actual sushi bar while they prepare the food in front of you. i was able to see him do this. –tempura appetizer, the tempura mix was falling apart, and the oil was leaking through. it was disgusting –sushi rolls were mediocre in taste and flavor –sushi chef kept forgetting my order, since he was getting bombarded by everyone elses orders at the same time, which is understandable, but still, he couldve came back and checked on me instead of leaving me hanging. just waiting for a roll that will never come ugh… im never coming back here again, the bathrool even smelled like it hasnt been cleaned… my advice, take the extra 10 minute drive to harbor sushi in palmdale. big tuna blows

I have been coming here for 2 years almost every other weekend. I will not be coming back after tonight’s visit. I was with 2 other people and we sat there for over an hour, in this hour we received only 1 full roll each. My girlfriend ordered tempura and requested(3 times) spicy mayo to dip it, didn’t recieve it till after she ate her tempura. I myself ordered gyoza(2 time) and never received my second order. The yummy crunch never came with cilantro. When I had made a complaint to the woman in the front she proceeded to tell me it was no big deal they were busy(not true as people sat after us received food faster than we did).we also were told for 25 dollars it was cheap all you can eat why complain, she said all this while laughing! She said there is no time limit at the bar, also not true(You get 2 hours). If this is the way you treat customers I will never come back and go where my money is welcome. Ishouldn’t have to pay for such terrible service and have someone not take the customer serious. I will never again suggest any family or friends visit your establishment until I get a response and something is done about this.

Been coming to Big Tuna since both restaurants in Palmdale and Lancaster opened. Always friendly but sometimes all-you-can-eat at the bar can be a bit slow for no(apparent) reason. I always have the Big Tuna roll, Hawaiian roll, Ultimate Shrimp roll, Red Dragon roll, then hit repeat. Wonderfully fresh and very flavorful! One or two orders of Shimai and I’m full. Very highly recommended!

My bad experience is either an outlier or SoCal Unilocalers just enjoy a different(and inferior) brand of sushi than we get up north. Ordered the origami and spicy tuna handrolls, a spicy tuna salad, and beef udon to go. The udon was decent, but it’s hard to screw up noodles in broth. The cooked beef bits they included were flavorful, but mostly gristle. Like they were leftovers from the real beef teriyaki someone else was getting. 6⁄10 The handrolls were among the worst I’ve had. The origami roll was dry and flavorless. The paper was clumsily rolled, and the stuffing was blah. Not even a nostril-clearing helping of wasabi could save it. 2⁄10 The spicy tuna… man, I love me some spicy tuna. This was hands down the worst spicy tuna I’ve ever had. Seriously, I’ve had more legit ST at gas stations and grocery stores. The tuna somehow managed to be dry, they used a tremendous amount of rice, and this shit wasn’t even spicy. It seriously tasted like maybe it was made in the same area as a spicy tuna dish, and maybe a hint of flavor rubbed off on it. Awesome, I got a roll of dry rice, and some spicy tuna that’s amazingly mediocre. The salad was no better. A lot of greens with a few slivers of flavorless tuna on top. Save yourself the trouble of putting pants on and going here, just get some greens, a can of tuna, and some hot sauce and giggle to yourself about how lucky you are that you didn’t have to pay to shovel it in your mouth. Can this rating go into negative numbers? If so, –overninethousand/10 I hate to not include a positive comment, so here goes: the lady who took my money and bagged my take out was very nice and helpful. Thanks!

3 stars for quality and variety; 4 stars for service. The sushi here did not really impress me. I opted for the AYCE and tried all the sushi Bigtuna had to offer. There were only 16 different pieces. I’ve tried them all before. However, I did not go for any of their specialty rolls. Their creativity probably lies in that area. But I am a fan of sushi, not rolls. So my review is leaned towards the sushi/sashimi. One neat thing for AYCE at Bigtuna is that you can ask for less rice for the sushi so you don’t get full too fast. If you end up wasting food though, you will have to pay for the sushi a la carte. Just eat what you can. The service here is pretty nice. They are very attentive to empty plates and refills for beverages. I would also like to add that they are also very honest. One night, I had a dinner combo ordered for take out. When I got home, I found that one of my orders was missing. I drove back to the restaurant, and before I said anything, the hostess immediately apologized and handed me my food. She also refunded me for the portion that they forgot to give me.

I have tried this place twice and both times was greatly disappointed. Maybe I chose bad days to go. But I found the food to be disgusting. The food tasted like it had reached its expiration date and left a blah feeling in my mouth. Nothing tasted good to me. Honestly I’d chose ‘Gold Fish’ over in Palmdale over this place any day. It’s waaaay better quality food and tastes like real Japanese food. Though I last went a few months ago and I heard they hired on a new cook so maybe the food is better. The place is really nice and cozy. The servers are great. The food is the only thing I had a tiff about.
