Not sooo fast cowboy!!! had some extra time on a Tuesday night so i headed down-up to Palmdale, el torea for what I had referred to, until this most recent visit, my favorite, Mexican food. They removed the item i had my chops set for from the menu reporting that it was not a big seller… Really?!.the crab burrito marinated in butter and garlic served mojado style drenched in bubbly melted cheese… sadly the drinks just ok too. no familiar staff which was another reason i enjoyed going in the past… sooooooo i tried just one last time for the sunday champagne brunch… no one to blame but ME… food was not fresh, tussled with my stomach for two days straight… champagne??? two words… auste spamante… the nitrates had my head feeling like it was going to literally spin off the axle… sadly, i wont be returning… ever! it was good while it lasted… looking to head to the mexiacn spot in Rosamond…

This location is closed, and the phone number has been disconnected. I both drove by the address on W 10th Street and called to verify.

5 star service. Our drinks stayed full, our waiter checked in us every few minutes, the staff seems happy to be at work, and the food is really good here. I Like This Location the best And I Have Been To All The Other El Toreo’s In The AV.

First time here, service was extraordinary!!! From the moment we walked through the door, up to the minute we left. Family owned,(family oriented) waiter filled our cups as soon as they were empty. I will definitely b coming back here.

The ambiance isn’t much, but the waitress we had was running around doing everything, including the bar, and we still felt she took great care of us. The food was great, hot and fresh. Really enjoyed the experience, even though when we first walked in, it was so unimpressive, I didn’t think we would!

The carnitas burrito was pretty good. It is served with beans and rice covered with with tomato sauce. They include a very generous portion of carnitas in the burrito too. I think I would have liked it more with verde sauce and a toasted jalapeño. The cadillac margarita is good, but the standard margarita is below average.

Ordered the Chile relleno and it was good. stuffed with mushrooms and white cheese. The albondiga soup was delicious. A bit pricey, but the food is good.

For those of you in the Antelope Valley, you are no doubt aware that El Toreo has several locations. I grew up on El Toreo. I started going to the on in Palmdale on 10th and Palmdale Blvd with my parents. When we moved to Quartz Hill we started going to the one on L. I love El Toreo. Easily one of my favorite Mexican restaurants anywhere. I still like to go when I come home for a visit. The staff is always great. I see the same people in there that I have seen for years. They have gotten to know my family(cousins, grandparents, aunts/uncles). It is nice to have a place that is like a second home. Great food. A dark and comfortable atmosphere. Good staff. What more could one want. Find an El Toreo near you and make an evening of it.

If you want tex-mex flavorless mexican, this is your place. The enchilada sauce tasted canned, the burrito was disgusting. The only positive was their margarita and you can get one of those anywhere. revisit 2÷28÷08 Well, my friends talked me into going so we went back. Again, the burrito was a huge disgusting thing with watered down pinkish sauce poured over it whether we wanted«wet» or not. The Chile verde was mostly onion and tough pork in a flavorless sauce. Everything is Ranchera(read canned enchilada sauce) — even their enchilada suiza came with it! Their«del mar» menu selection consisted of 3 choices of shrimp. The salsa has no hint of spice and is a red tomato sauce without chunks of onion, tomato or cilantro. On the bright side, one of the diners ordered carne tampiquena which was great. Yes, Dawn, this is AMERICAN food, Look around when you eat there, you won’t see the local hispanic population eating at this place. Go to Mexico, you won’t see food like this! Here is the definition of tex mex as described by wikipedia: «Tex-Mex» is a term used to describe a regional American cuisine that blends food products available in the United States and the culinary creations of Mexican-Americans influenced by the cuisines of Mexico. The cuisine has spread from border states such as Texas and those in the Southwestern United States to the rest of the country. In some places, particularly outside of Texas, «Tex-Mex» is used to describe a localized version of Mexican cuisine. It is common for all of these foods to be referred to as «Mexican food» in Texas, parts of the United States, and some other countries. In other ways it is Southern cooking using the commodities from Mexican culture. In many parts of the U.S. outside Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona, the term is synonymous with Southwestern cuisine. Two such foods include the taco and the burrito.

This is the place to go for Mexican Food in the desert. Drinks are good and the food is tasty too. They have been around for 25 plus years and are always good. Get the big margarita and tell them you want Pat Kelly special. He is a legend there… or so he says.
