Ordered a 7″ classic cheese steak sandwich to go. When I opened my wrapped sandwich it had absolutely no cheese what so ever. Very disappointed. This was my first and last visit to this location!

I really like the Philly cheese steak sandwich here, what’s not to like? I’ve had many, and they have all been great. Try it.

Cheesesteak, fries and a soda for under $ 10??? Count me in as a fan! It’s located in the same complex as Lucky’s. I almost missed it because it was at the corner. There were 3 people ahead of me when I went during my lunch break. I was almost late in getting back to work. The following day, I decided to call in my order ahead of time. It was ready in 10 minutes. Worked well for me.

The cheesesteak was good! The meat was super chopped up with melty gooey cheese throughout all the meat. The bread was a standard roll, and the peppers were vinegary and spicy at the Same time. I didn’t really like the veggies so much, But for the price I would go back.

A place where they know your name! This is the place for me. When I come here they scream my name and know exactly what I want! I love the stake sandwich, very easy and delicious and not very expensive! If you are looking for great food on a budget, this is the place for you.

Really? 3.5 stars? Clearly these other reviewers are either being nice or have just never had the real deal. It takes a certain«get down» to be able to successfully cook really good«feel good» greasy junk food and this place just doesn’t have it. No soul here and the all the novelty decorations are just dumb. This place is a disgrace and hella fugazzi. 2 stars for feeding me while waiting for my laundry next door.

Coworker and I realized that we both hadn’t had a cheese steak in years. Was surprised to find THE Cheese Steak Shop nestled deep inside Larkspur. I used to frequent the one near my high school neighborhood in a different part of the Bay Area but I never remembered it being so delicious. Perhaps the one variable for these kinds of franchises are the folks that run them – and this particular store is phenomenal. I ordered the ‘King of Philly’, which is 50% more meat and cheese on a 10 inch roll. With a side of large onion rings and a drink. TIP: Of course you want peppers with your cheese steak but get them separate on the SIDE. It’s much easier to eat and you get a nicer distribution of bite-of-sandwich to pepper consumption ratio. Will definitely be back!

not much meat, not great. i grew up in the Philly area. Cheesesteaks aren”t a delicacy, they have a purpose. good junk food. these guys serve ok junk food– but, if you are in the mood the place is clean. people friendly.

I literally walked in there and they had dirty cardboard that they threw on the grill and stood on it to clean the vents … One of the guys even used the spatula and tried to scraped out something in the vents… Then I watched them throw the cardboard on the ground and cook a customers food on it without cleaning anything … Never going back again. I can’t imagine what goes on in the back … I have never Seen something that disgusting in a restaurant before

I went in here for the first time a few days ago. I gotta say, this place is pretty good! I ordered the barbecue cheesesteak sandwich, and it was on point, and delicious! I ordered onion rings as my side, they were nothing to write home about however I wish I got the steak fries, I stole a few from my dinner guest and could of devoured the whole thing. Anyway, I will definitely come here again, when I feel like treating myself to some comfort food. Be careful, this place could get addicting. Real talk.

I’m not exceptional in any real way but I grew up and spent my first thirty years in Philly and I know my way around a cheesesteak… and this my Unilocal friends is a very middling sandwich. Usually the discussion around the best cheesesteak comes down to the bread… is it an amaroso or sarcones roll was it seeded or plain, etc. Last nights discussion doesn’t even get past the tasteless, salty meat that was over cooked and slightly burned covered in very sweet red sauce. The bread, while also disappointing wasn’t even in the discussion last night due to these other transgressions. If you want a good cheesesteak go to Philly, otherwise just get a burger and fries and be happy you get to live in California.

Holy moly! Where has this place been all my life?! I finally ducked in to Larkspur’s Cheese Steak Shop over the weekend. The line was pretty much out the door(which is always a good sign). I’ll be honest with ya — I’m not well versed in the world of Philly Cheese Steaks. All I know, is that discerning diners take these sandwiches seriously(in the same way that people are fanatical about pizza, burritos, and burgers). Needless to say, I’m a Philly Cheese Steak virgin(please don’t judge me). So I went in to my first sandwich experience with open eyes and, thankfully, a big appetite. The Cheese Steak Shop certainly delivered a meaty, cheesy, delectable experience. I order their mid-size hoagie(7 inches of cheese steak, lettuce, tomato, sweet peppers, cheese, and other goodness on a soft roll for just $ 8). And wow — this sandwich really hit the spot! It was so large that I had it for lunch, and then finished the rest for dinner. Let’s not kid ourselves — this ain’t exactly a Weight Watchers-endorsed meal. But you know what — some times you just got treat yourself. Go big or go home! And if you wanna go big, I recommend grabbing a hoagie at the Cheese Steak Shop. I can’t wait to go back!

There’s nothing like buying a Philly cheesesteak from a guy who reminds you of Jeff Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High! However for this Philly transplant, I’ll get my chicken cheesesteak any way I can! The counter guy couldn’t be nicer! The steaks couldn’t be better!!! I feel like I’m back in South Philly without the hassle and bad weather, etc. of being in South Philly! Hooray!!! Awesome find for me!!! Amoroso’s rolls and tastykakes! I died and went to cheesesteak heaven!!! And never had to leave my beautiful California!

When I’m in the mood for food that is fast, greasy & filling, I hit up the cheese steak shop! There’s a lot of parking at this location since it’s located in a little shopping center next to Lucky’s. My go to is the cheesesteak w/bacon, grilled onions & bell peppers. Yumm! I’ve never been disappointed!
