Walking up, the smell of fresh garlic tantalizes your nose. I knew right then doing lunch at Lorenzo’s was a great decision. The décor is precious and very homey. Sinatra and the Rat Pack’s style of music plays unobtrusively in the background. The walls proudly display painted murals, adding to the charm that begins at the door. Everything is very Italian and reminded me of the three weeks I spent traveling through Italy in high school. The gentleman who seated me noticed I walked in with a book and seated me by the window for that ideal reading light. My waitress was attentive without being overbearing. Most importantly, she was patient as I spent a solid 15 minutes deciding what I was going to order. Everything sounded amazing! And, as I learned while walking out, everything is homemade from scratch in house. Except the tiramisu, which they import from Italy. Their commitment to traditional Italian cuisine shines through their food. Their Fresh Homemade Bread cannot be missed. Dense, soft, pillowy, great chew. All adjectives I thought of as I tore off a piece and placed it on my tongue. Yes, I realize how paradoxical that sounds. Just trust me on it. The bread is even more perfect when paired with the provided balsamic. It’s saltier than I thought it would be, yet it adds to the magic. The Grilled Shrimp Spinach Salad has HUGE shrimp on the half order. Tangy house vinaigrette with a needed crunch of the pecans and red onion. The bitterness of the red onion is balanced by the sweet burst of cranberries. I substituted the blue cheese with feta, so creamy!!! The grilled shrimp come out hot and impart a welcomed smoky quality to the dish. At the end my mouth was left with a clean taste of basil. Get a little bit of everything in one bite, you’ll thank me later. The various components each burst at different times, playing different notes on your tongue I originally ordered the Triple Chocolate Mousse; however, they were out and were sweet enough to comp my dessert. I ended up eating their Crème Brûlée Cheesecake. It’s smothered with a thick caramel sauce and served with a side of fresh whipped cream. Normally I like an extra thick crust but the decadence of the filling made up for it. I also expected the characteristic crunchy topping of brûléed sugar. Didn’t miss it! There were flecks of vanilla bean in the cheesecake so you know it is the real deal! I was teetering on giving a four star rating; however, the excellent service tipped my hand. And the price is not outrageous for an authentic Italian meal in small town New Mexico. Who knew?

Excellent Italian food with friendly staff. When I’m in Las Cruces this is a great choice. Locals love it, too. I like the lasagna with green chile dish! Yum!

Unfortunately we went there on the night of a collage basketball game. The place was slammed and the service sucked! The waitress brought our wine with 2 Orange juice glasses and said«this is what usually serve our wine in» but we noticed that the party of 20 in the back room has wine glasses. So we pointed that out to the waitress and she said«they must have just came in». Wow! The food was delicious but my girlfriend requested salmon and they said they were out at 7 p.m. on a friday! We found the same bottle of wine that we paid $ 20 for at Wal-Mart for $ 8. Needless to say we won’t be going back anytime soon.

Decent Italian food if you dont know what real Italian food is. Passable. My pasta was not drained properly. Sauce is okay, not seasoned well enough. Needed more basil and/or garlic and a touch of salt. Lasagne my husband had was just okay. Too bad this one is not nearly as good as the one that was in Mesilla. I understand its two different owners.

A Las Cruces staple. May I recommend EVERYTHING? Jk. True to form I’ve only had a couple of things and stick with my tried and true. Spaghetti con sugo. I can speak for the Ravioli Con Sugo, the bread, the salads(which were better before they added all this dumb stuff to it), the Pizza and the Penne with Pesto. All very good. This place is moderately priced, has simple good food and usually doesn’t have much of a wait except for the weekends. The Italian Sodas are the best. Raspberry is my jam. But I may have to try Cherry tonight if they’re out. Update: Had to try the Cherry and it was a little sweet. Come with an open mind, this is not your traditional Italian restaurant. It’s Lorenzo’s. And it’s good.

I would hardly call this Italian. The food was subpar and yawningly boring.

First off I’ve been going here for about 5 years now and I’ve never been disappointed. They serve large servings of delicious food varying from lasagna to ravioli to chicken fettuccine to seafood and meat dishes. My favorite item they have is by far their bread. It is so warm and soft and just so yummy, every time! And it gets better when you dip it into their delicious soups. Besides their great food, the environment is also really nice. The staff is really friendly and they seat you quickly. The wait staff are really attentive and caring. The décor is quaint and romantic. And the owners are so nice! They gave my boyfriend and I free dessert for our anniversary and at least 3 staff members congratulated us. They are pretty popular so try to get there around 5 to beat the dinner rush!

Overall this was a great dining experience. Pleasant décor, decent service, and good food. I especially appreciated the TV-free dining experience. Above all, the owner Vince is a really nice guy. He came out and introduced himself and talked to us for about five minutes. He was so friendly that I would eat here again just to say hi. We’re from L.A. but occasionally visit Las Cruces and this will definitely be our Italian restaurant of choice the next time we’re in town.

A small, cozy restaurant with excellent food. I decided to try the spaghetti con sugo and was not disappointed. My son had the special of the day which was also great. Their flatbread is amazing.

Surprisingly good food, except for the mozzarella sticks. I especially liked the way they incorporated hatch chili’s into the lasagna! Service was great, and speed of food was good. We’ll be back if we are in town.

Yum!!! Lorenzo’s was fantastic! They have a wide variety of pastas, salads, soups, steak, and seafood with voices for sauces as well. The service was friendly, helpful a small attentive. The homemade bread, dressing and sauce were savory and light. I will definitely return to Lorenzo’s!

I eat here regularly, most often for lunch, and find it reliably tasty American style Italian food with some decent inexpensive wine selections and beer(I almost always have a Peroni with lunch). There are vegetarian options and have found that post lunch-rush is the best time. The bread they serve is delicious. Skip the Olive Garden and come here, it’s feet away from the freeway and good.

I was not disappointed, to say the least. Great service to compliment the wonderful food. I was surprised that the food was prepared in such great detail. From the pasta cooked al dente to the fine grill of the fish. Top notch!

One of my favorite Italian places that is unique to las cruces. The ravioli with con Sugo sauce is so cheesy and good. The bread is addicting — I can never get enough!
