Went to this place for a birthday celebration for Sunday brunch. I was with a pretty large group but everything was still amazing. Our server was great(I didn’t get her name). We had a few children with our group over the age of 6. However the manager(Keith) allowed all of the children with my party to eat for free that day. So nice of him. And might I add the brunch menu was super tasty. Crab balls are awesome as well as the cheesecake. Can’t wait to go back.

Walked in and no one was at the front to greet nor seat my friend and I. So we found a booth and sat down. After sitting for a few minutes Stephanie came over to offer us a menu. We ordered our drinks. The ginger ale came but the velvet rope took 15 minutes. The waitress kept saying that the bartender was going through some things so the drink will take a while. Calamari was okay. Lamp chops was flavored well and cooked to perfection. Velvet Rope mix drink was okay.

Amazing Meal! We came here on a recommendation from the Hotel staff for a work trip. We ordered drinks… amazing. Bangkok shrimp and calamari. The portions were huge even for the half price happy hour. The jumbo crab cake had no fillers and the soups were all homemade. The prime rib and lobster tail was made to order and all was well. Great food, great company. Good times. Would recommend.

Ler me just preface by saying there arent many times when i forget to photograph any of my food and if I do its because I couldn’t wait to dig in… THISHAPPENEDHERE! I found this place on a humble. Someone on my time line posted a picture of their Shrimp and grits and I told myself, I had to make it. And there I was one day heating up Route 1. From my house this resturant is about a 40 minute drive and we’ll worth the trek. I ordered the Bangkok shrimp(bangbang) can’t remember the name but they were delicious and ofcourse the Shrimp and Grits! DELISH times 10! It came with a big salad too. The resturant itself is well kept — even the restrooms which smelled great and they had mints :). Loving the red all over the place. As I sat waiting a gentleman came over to make sure I was attended to. He was either a manager or owner… to that gentleman, thanks! I appreciate things like that. I really had a wonderful experience. The minute I got in the car I text my friend and said«OMG, we have to come back!!» I see from the reviews I will have to make my revisit around brunch; can’t wait!

I’ve been here twice and had a good experiences. Although it’s in a shopping center, it’s not bad inside! I love that they allow happy hour specials even in the dining area(a plus). Their drinks are actually strong so be prepared! I’ve only had the appetizers(quesadillas and Caribbean skewers) and they were delicious. I plan to return for dinner or brunch. Definitely a good spot not too far from home(DC can be overrated and redundant at times)!! During my most recent visit, the manager(Ray I believe his name was) walked around to each patron checking on the service, etc…). I really appreciate great custom service(two thumbs up).

Wow! is all I can say. After passing this place by a number of times since moving to the area, having countless forgettable meals along the way, I’m out finishing my Christmas shopping & decide to stop. I sat at the bar & ordered the fish & chips, just wanting some comfort food. I opted for the house salad that came with it. The couple sitting next to me got salads put down in front of them and I thought maybe they were vegetarians ordering all veggie salads. My salad was brought & I was pleased that this was the same«house» salad that I got. A nice mix of greens, carrots, onions, and beets! Beets are great in a salad but not many restaurants use them. The carrots & beets are spiral julianed and hard to pick up the with a fork, & the onions all seem like thin rings cut to be long strands of onions. This is a great house salad, but grab your knife & fork and cut it all up to eat it. Red Sky people, if you’re reading this, add a couple of sliced black olives to your house salad and make it phenomenal. Fish & chips came out, along with a nice serving of slaw that I didn’t remember even seeing on the menu. The cod was great & the batter nice and crunchy. The slaw was an especially nice touch but I would add some small finely shaved slivers of onion if I were making it. Still, I liked it regardless. I would have also liked a bit more tartar sauce & I actually thought about leaving 4 stars as I drove away & thought, «No malt vinegar,» but I didn’t miss the malt vinegar enough to think to ask for some while I was eating… so 5 stars. Lindsey the bartender did a great job and was really friendly. Another server who brought my salad asked me if he could bring me anything else but I was all set. It was apparant that the bartender was friends with the couple sitting next to me, but I was taken care of just as well. The guy who I think was the manager asked me how everything was while I was eating then thanked my when I left. The only regret I have after stopping here tonight is after seeing another diner’s meal, I wish I would have ordered the crab cake(but I still enjoyed the fish & chips).

Reading the numerous«not so nice» reviews of Red Sky on Unilocal,I came here with low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised with their Sunday brunch. With a party of 7 at my table, we devoured our made to order waffles, fruit, pulled pork, crab balls, lobster bisque, fried chicken and several other options available, at the all you can eat buffet. We downed our mimosas with authority, and they were pretty legit mimosas, if I do say so myself. We ate our food in first, seconds, and third helpings and when it was all over, we were stuffed, pleased and thankful that we came! With a very reasonable cost of $ 23.00 per person and for an additional $ 10.00 you can partake in unlimited mimosas, we were all impressed with the value of the food. RS has daily happy hour drink and appetizer specials. Our server, Joe, was such a sweetheart! He came around frequently to refill our mimosa glasses and he did it all with a smile! The ambiance is kind of hit or miss. I like the red walls in the back and the front portion by the bar had televisions was bright and inviting. On the other hand, the back of the restaurant was very dark and dated. No natural light is available in the rear of the restaurant, so although the red walls are pretty, it makes the room that much darker. In actuality, the entire restaurant could use a facelift. In my opinion, it just seems a bit old. Other than the dated and dark appearance, I really like the brunch here. I can’t speak to the other courses on the menu, but coming here for brunch was a winner. Thanks Spencer H. for turning me on to this spot. I’ll be back!

**Brunch Review** I am somewhat of a brunch connoisseur since weekend brunches are a way of life in the DMV area. I was invited to try Red Sky by another fabulous Unilocaler, Rae M. Let me just say, the Sunday brunch at Red Sky is a cut above the rest. For $ 33 I ate like a queen and drank like a fish and still kept it classy. The particulars: — Unlimited mimosa are available for $ 10. I must note their serving size for mimosa is like a home pour, the glass is filled with only ¼ of the glass empty(they have $ 4/glass mimosa available if you can’t handle yourself) — The buffet is $ 23. Now I usually shy away from all you can eat buffets but this one may change that. They had a spreads for cheese, veggies, fruits, pastries and desserts. –The breakfast meat options were out of this world: salmon(well seasoned and cooked appropriately), crab bites(with crab, not filler), Carolina bbq(slow roasted the right way, had way too much of this), bacon, sausage and fried chicken –Fried chicken compliments the made to order waffle station. Even when I got lazy and chose to sit instead of waiting in line for the waffle to be ready, the waffle maker was kind enough to bring it to me. –They also had crab bisque, grits, eggs and home fries. Even through the eggs were not cook to order, they were surprisingly flavorful(still fluffy and light). –The gentleman who served us was great. He greeted each person as they joined the group and still took the time to go over their brunch and beverage options. He also kept those glasses full with the mimosa. As soon as we could take one down, there he was with a pitcher to refill. — you also have the option for unlimited coffee and tea So, the next time you think of going to a brunch that probably offers a few tappas, mimosas in a champagne flute, a cup of coffee for $ 5 or a messily sized entrée for $ 20 not including beverages, forget it. Come to RedSky with you honey, or your gals, wearing elastic waist pants or knit skirts, and get a real brunch. One where you will leave full and happy thinking, oh yeah I can’t wait to come back here.

After a nice Christmas boozy brunch with my friends, I was motivated to revise my initial review. There were 7 in our party and they seated us before the entire party arrived; which was great because I was hungry. I was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection and presentation. I mean there were the customary staples like omelets, Belgium waffle station, eggs, bacon, home fries, but sliced ham, roasted turkey, fried chicken, and my favorite crab balls, salmon, and cream of crab soup laced with sherry. Our server Joe was friendly and made sure the mimosas were flowing. He never seemed bothered by our requests. After brunch, I joined friends in the bar area to watch Washington get a huge win over the Bears. The atmosphere, even on a Sunday, was great for watching football.

A friend and I were here for dinner on a Saturday evening. the calamari was fried well but lacked flavor. The garden salad with house dressing was very good. My entrée of chicken breast, lobster tail, asparagus and potatoes was really good, and was the only saving grace for this visit. Service was very, very slow for no reason because the place was not at all crowded. Our server was chatting it up with every worker and completely neglected us. He messed up our order and our checks, the latter we had to summon another server to get. The dessert was nothing special: my friend hated the strawberry cheesecake and the apple pie a la mode was average. The food was good enough but not great enough to overshadow the horrible service.

This place has potential, but seems to have been forgotten. I came through on a very very very slow Monday night during football season to catch the game. I only ordered two appetizers. I was SUPER underwhelmed. Everything tastes like it came out of a box and was fixed quickly in the back and thrown on some random garnish. The bathrooms were gross and when I arrived a waitress greeted me and said, «your waitress is in the bathroom right now so I’m just going to get you started». Uhhh… thanks for the tip. I don’t plan to return.

Came here for a birthday dinner with 3 friends on a friday evening. Food was great, service was not so stellar. We had to wait what seemed like forever for drink refills, and the server mixed up our orders. No big deal for us we just pulled toppings off of one entrée and put on another ourselves. So 2 stars for service, 5 stars for food!

Red Sky must be under new management because the food isn’t that good anymore. Moreover, the service is horrific. Calling in to place an order has become a task instead of a seem less process. I attended brunch today and the wait staff barely came to check on me and my party. The food was sub par and one of the managers(even if he was right) was rude to a customer in front of other patrons. I think it’s in bad taste to talk badly to a customer amongst other guests(even if the customer is the one wrong) the manager should always have better customer service skills than to do that. Red Sky used to be secret gem in Laurel and is going down hill like the rest of them Bottom of the Bay, Pasta Plus… Do better Red Sky with customer service!

Great atmosphere ! Came here for Sunday brunch and invited family from Georgia! They enjoyed themselves very much. Our waitress was Vanessa, very energetic and filled with excitement … She knows the customers well and interacted will with everyone including us. for the food it was good very tasty and delightful … On Sunday brunch there are mixtures of breakfast and lunch(brunch) which made me love it more! The waffles are to dieeee for. All games were on and the atmosphere was great… we also had unlimited mimosas that cap off a great afternoon ! Will be back!

The first time I came here was for brunch it was fantastic. I came with a large group and it was a nice spread. The low stars are for my recent visit. They had a few large groups. We came during happy hour there was a 25 minute wait on everything. We had to ask several times for water. Our waiter brought water pitchers and we waited 30 minutes for glasses. The lobster mac and cheese wasn’t good. It tasted like they tried to cut corners and make it stretch. I sent it back. They couldn’t take it off without the managers approval he took way too long to come over. To top it off they gave my credit card to a woman I didn’t know. I had her credit card. Luckily we have a mutual friend and sorted it out via paypal. I ended up going to the movies and some other places after and used her card. I am really upset about someone else having my credit card. I am just relieved she was a good person and didn’t go on a spending spree.

Amazing seafood and customer service. I wasn’t sure what to think when I found parking but the inside of Red Sky is very spacious and well lit. The tables are clean and large enough to accommodate most groups. The bar area was separate from the dining area which allowed for a quiet meal uninterrupted by loud patrons or sports broadcasts. I really enjoyed the Crab Legs and the Herb Crusted Salmon. The size of the salmon fillet fair and the flavor was undeniable. The crab legs were very fresh and their was plenty of meat. Red Sky also offers complimentary bread rolls which taste delicious. Our waiter was very attentive and kind, she even brought out extra rolls after we quickly finished the first batch. I was really impressed with our waiter since my family is very large and made several requests for extra napkins or melted butter. At one point my brother spilled his drink and our waiter promptly replaced our table with the help of her coworker. It would have been very easy for her to just throw us some napkins but she replaced the entire table because it had clearly soak through the all white blanket. I will definitely be back to enjoy the amazing seafood and excellent customer service at Red Sky Restaurant.

I came here for the Sunday brunch buffet. It starts at 11 and costs $ 23.95 per person. This is definitely a good deal for an all you can eat buffet with the type of food that they serve here. We got there early and I would def suggest to get here early because once the after church crowd comes in it gets very loud and the ambiance goes from pleasant & intimate to disturbing and annoying quickly. Otherwise, my server, Chris, was excellent. He was very friendly, polite, & knowledgeable. Now as far as the food… almost everything was excellent! Omg I loved every bit of my food with exception of a few items. For starters the waffles were nice & fluffy and had an assortment of toppings you can choose from. I had an egg white omelette with shrimp & crab and a bunch of other stuff in it lol. Delicious! Everything was fresh and tasty. The biscuit & sausage gravy… great…the salmon… awesome & the fruit was always nice & fresh even though I thought the strawberries could’ve been sweeter. Oh and the steamed shrimp was nicely seasoned with old bay & also tasty. The food items I wasn’t too fond of was the South Carolina bbq pork which was too vinegary for me, the fried chicken was just ok. The seasoning was so-so and I like my fried chicken fried a little bit harder. The turkey was also bland. I also was disappointed in the miniature crab balls. I was so excited for these and the taste just didn’t make me want to go up for seconds. Lastly, I had the cheesecake which was yummy. Yes, I had a lot of food! Haha Overall, would I come back? Definitely! Majority of my food was good and I love good service which you definitely get here!

This used to be our«go-to» spot for brunch. They were always able sit our large group if we got there early enough. For about $ 30, you get unlimited Mimosa’s and as many trips to the buffet as you like. I don’t eat seafood but this is why we always choose this place because they offer shrimp and sometimes crab on special Sundays. They have someone making waffles and carving meat. The waffle line can get a little crazy at times. I gave this place a 2 stars mainly because of service. The Manager knew our group because we had been going for some time. Well, we had two bad experiences in a row so they lost our business. On the last occasion, they told us they were out of juice so we asked for straight up champagne. Then they said they were out of champagne. Listen… my group can get a little loud but we weren’t drunk and obnoxious… if you were trying to cut us off… say that. After complaining, the manager popped up with two bottles. The manager is just an old grumpy man who seems to hate the food industry but has worked there for years.

UGGGHHH. You know when a review starts with a sound it can’t be good. Im more pissed that I have to roast this blood red disaster area. I came in super psyched about the brunch and was ready to drink my weight in mimosas and they managed to kill my joy with crappy service and enough attitude to make me wonder if I was at a dining establishment or the damn Source Awards. I went with a friend, arrived at about 2pm. It was an hour of brunch left.(11 – 3) on Sats n Sundays. There were 2 parties and place was semi busy. Plenty of tables available. The hostess looked bored and too boughetto good to crack a smile or be personable. But she made sure she got that last Shmoney dance in before looking up. She said, ok 2 ppl… um wayment(supposed to be wait a minute)…(throws up 1 finger) *pause* SIGH ok… She does a lap and seats us in a booth up against the wall. From there the fit REALLY hits the shan. We waited… and waited… and WAITED. 12 mins pass, they seat a couple behind us, 9 mins more pass and the waiter goes to the couple seated after us. HEWALKEDPASTUSTWICE! They seat another table. It is now 25 mins in and no order has been taken. At this point I don’t even want the damn food. I’m hot as a hookers mattress and am not trying to hear the excuses. Wanna know what the food was like? METOO. Wanna know if the brunch is worth driving to the boonies for? Yeah METOO. Sadly Idk… My friend was so irked that she just wanted to leave, no manager needed. Smh I share her disgust. It was rude from beginning to end. Maybe it was a bad day, Idk, the other reviews arent stellar but some were good. All I got was the ass end of the shit show. Well, Im cool on coming back to this hood hash house. I’ll keep my $ & brunch elsewhere. Smh just mediocrity. Lame. Dine at your own risk.

Went here with a group of 6 for a Holiday Dinner. We first ordered a bunch of appetizers to share. It’s very nice that their happy hour deals also carry over to the dining area. So we got them half off. And there are plenty of appetizers to choose from. Everything we had was very good(especially the stuffed mushrooms and crab dip) Dinner was ok. I ordered a filet and since this restaurant is labeled as a steakhouse I guess I was expecting a very good filet. It wasn’t ‘bad’ but it wasn’t good. I definitely felt the need to ask for salt and steak sauce(which is a no no in the steakhouse world bc the steaks are supposed to be good enough to not need extra seasonings or sauce). The other dinners at the table looked good. The pork chops looked yummy and none of the others at the table complained. Our service was good too. The waitress never rushed us even though we were there for a while at the table(3+hours) exchanging gifts and having drinks. The restaurant wasn’t that busy that evening(a Wed night) so we were able to have a good time(and be a little loud at our table in the back). I would def be back to this place for happy hour specials again. Not sure if I’d drop $ 29 on not the greatest filet again though.
