Vegetarian sushi was ok but waitress was clueless. No service. Too much dressing on salad. The white tuna was tasteless to borderline sour. I think I got sick from something I ate. There are better places to eat on the avenue.

Not as good as I expected. Service was super slow and the food was just ok. Definitely disappointment being its in a really good area. A little pricey for what’s offered. Not one of my favorite places but it was worth a try.

There’s a lot of Japanese restaurants in the area but I prefer Ginban. The sushi is always good and I like the special rolls on the menu. They also don’t charge extra for substituting brown rice instead of white, unlike some of the other places in the area

We love Ginban for what it is — fresh — well priced — great tasting sushi, Japanese and Chinese with great service in a neighborhood setting. It never disappoints. The place looks fine– but it’s not for fine dining. Its for a casual night out or for ordering in — but don’t let that make you feel any less about the food — we go before and after movies — Sunday night in or order in — sometimes the odd lunch. Go there or order in — its great

I’ve been to Nobu in Malibu, I’ve had sushi up and down the coast of California and all of the best places in Manhattan. In my opinion, GinBan has some of the freshest Sushi Rolls in New York State. My favorite roll is the ambrosia roll and the mango slices on top are so soft and add such a great compliment to the entire roll. I only go to GinBan for my sushi desires, it beats the other competitors on the Avenue by far.

Unedible. Had a long day and ordered pick up. I haven’t been loving red plum as much and decided to try somewhere new. Big mistake. I’m so mad at myself, it was that bad. Thai curry with shrimp and Thai basil shrimp. So salty. It was apparent in every bite how low quality their ingredients are. Soup, no good. Salad, 1 leaf 1 tomato, ½ cucumber. They disregarded the allergies on the one dish. We ate peanut butter on toast.

Great lunch specials! Sushi sashimi was delicious. The pad thai was pretty good too. Comfortable space and efficient service.

You know how most restaurants have that one good dish that they specialize in, and everything else is so so, and maybe service isn’t so great, and the ambiance just doesn’t quite cut it? Ginban is the opposite of all of that. It’s the true antithesis of your run of the mill restaurant. Every dish is amazing. The staff is unforgettable. The ambiance is zen. It’s just a perfect 5 star place with 2 star prices.

I absolutely do not agree with negative reviews. My boyfriend and me go to this place on a daily and weekly bases. The food there is always fresh and amazing. I have never tried better sashimi! Their Hibachi dishes are delicious as well. The ambiance and sitting area is very relaxing. The staff is very kind and personal. I have visited at least a hundred of sushi places in Manhattan and Westchester and this is definitely one of the best ones. I highly recommend going there in stead of delivering.

Probably the most overpriced chicken teriyaki I’ve eaten. If it tasted good, I’d happily pay. more than $ 15. To begin with, this place has an unhealthy obsession with ginger. The teriyaki was not even teriyaki. It was a bunch of dry grilled chicken strips over-seasoned with ginger and rosemary. The thick teriyaki sauce is given on the side and isn’t anything to write home about either. All-in-all, I’d say their dishes are just good as far as presentation goes. They pack the food very professionally, but that’s pretty much what you’re paying extra for. The portions are very small as well. Their hibachi rice is very good.

I love the food here it’s very fresh, it is pricey though but I believe it’s worth it. Came here as few times and always had a decent time sometime it takes the waitress a while to come over to you but other than that I was happy.

Dishes ordered: Sushi sashimi combo — tasted so fresh! I love this. Pad thai — Best pad thai I have had, but I think it is a more modern interpretation of the traditional kind. Angus sirloin teriyaki — I recommend this! Fried rice — Good, not«wowing» Tom yum curry chicken noodle soup — I recommend this too! Miso soup & Hot and sour soup were okay. The garnishing and presentation is beautiful! It definitely made my experience better here in this modern asian fusion restaurant. I had Ken as a waitor, and he is very kind. He is very knowledgeable of the menu, and helped me with ordering the best dishes. Eight dishes, including 3 ice cream desserts, totaled to about $ 140 and very full stomachs. I would definitely come here again.

Fresh, good sushi. Love the spicy tuna here. Their special rolls are where it’s at. Salad is good, not great. Salmon roll is better elsewhere. This place shows flashes of greatness, but can’t get a 5 star review from me.

We love GInban sushi. After many delivery orders, that most of the ri, e arrive fresh and delicious, we decided to visit. The atmosphere is very cool, and the people who work here really make u feel welcome. Everything was delicious and fresh, and I must point to the miso soup and the Tuna tataki that really left a strong impression. I will be back again soon. Sorry that no photos this time, but we agreed for«no cell» dinner ;)

Been here a few times and, although adequate, it’s unimpressive. Winter Friday and a busy evening mix of moms letting their kids run amuck while then stare at their phones or blab away. The hostesses couldn’t be more rude with«it’s a long wait. Will be a long while. Are you sure you want to wait?». A shocking level of rudeness. Wait staff is consistently nice and very efficient. Food is good but not great. The attitude of the hostess staff is enough to take this out of rotation for weekends.

It was wife’s and I first time today at Ginban. I must say that the food overall was on point, great flavors, portions and it was a simple atmosphere. We specifically liked their Gyoza, not to much dough, dipping sauce was great!.. i had a Hot Sake, a bit pricy — but never the less good. The pnly reason i have them 4 out of 5 stars its because when our entrees were ready to come out they only brought out my dish first… we waited for a good 5 minutes for my wifes dish to come out — we tried to get one of the waiters attention, but rush hour had begun and they did not pay attention to us. Another reason is that you have multiple waiters/servers involved — i know teamwork is important, but its pretty annoying and repetitive when you have to ask 3 or 4 servers for soy sauce and they arent helping each other out– just bringing out food and clearing up tables!.. I will however come back and recommend Ginban! Happy Eating!

I came here with my wife on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. They had a pretty awesome lunch special for 10 dollars which includes a soup, salad, entrée and ice cream. Wow! I was craving calamari so I ordered it separately… it was OK. The hot and sour and egg drop soups were great. The Shumai and egg roll were great for the price. The entrees… They weren’t bad for the price. We got the check and the servers didn’t mention anything about the ice cream that was supposed to be included. Lol… I really wanted it but felt embarrassed to ask for it. Oh… The gingerale that I ordered tasted like it was drowned in water. I’m willing to try this place again and adjust the review for dinner.

So my food was fine and the portion was decent. The dish was supposed to be spicy and was not at all — in fact, it was extremely sweet. I posted a photo of my order when it arrived, there were two sizeable holes punctured in the top of the container. I have no idea why and it caused sauce to spill all over. No napkins were included in my order to help clean this up(not to mention utensils). On top of it all, delivery guy was unfriendly. Overall, not worth the money and the trouble with the sauce. Disappointing first experience. Good thing there’s a lot to choose from on mamaroneck ave when it comes to asian fusion! Try somewhere else.

We stopped by for dinner last weekend and it was fantastic. Service, food, and atmosphere… all 5 stars. The sushi was fresh and beautifully presented. Best part of the meal was definitely the pepper tuna tataki with orange miso. Delicious! We used an online $ 20 for $ 40 coupon, and to be honest, I would have been thrilled with the experience even without the discount. Five stars.
