Best American Diner

Horrible service, bought the voucher on Unilocal and they refused to honor it after they confirmed with me over the phone and drove to pick up the order and they said they do not give discounts! I’m glad I didn’t get the order and will dispute my voucher order. The place smells bad and very unprofessional! The waiters had a long horn steak house chef jacket on!

My family was hungry so my husband, 12 month old daughter and I decided to drive up the street and try the new diner. It was about 4:40pm as soon as we walked in my husband had to ask if they were open. There were only two people in the store and apparently they were the cook and the «vice president» but she was our server. The place stunk of new paint. I wanted to leave, I felt super uncomfortable the first step into the door but my husband felt bad and said «let’s try it.» I ordered a tea my husband ordered a coke. The waitress seemed a little off maybe she was nervous. My husband’s coke was flat. I told him let’s just get dessert and go so we ordered the apple pie with ice cream. The waitress comes out after like ten minutes and tells us sorry it will be about seven more minutes because they strive on having fresh food. Ten minutes later the cook came out and said he was sorry that his oven is not heating up that it’s only at 60 degrees he doesn’t know how long it’s going to be. I politely told him we will take the check. We tipped and left for juke box diner which we were sat and had our food within ten minutes. American diner shouldn’t open if they aren’t ready. Also the kids menu word find needs fixed America is written as American and also forgot to put July in the words to be found.

Went into restaurant approx. 1:40 ordered a steak and egg sandwich with tomatoes and a side of home fries hostess took the order brought me my water then 10 mins. Later walk out the door. Then anther lady came ask me how long I was waiting. I told her about 15 min. She said it would be coming I then told her I did not have much time she said ok. So I waited 15 – 20 more before I called it and said I was leaving. Not sure what was going on but 30 – 40 min for a steak and egg sandwich way to long my time is also valuable and I wasn’t going to wait a hour for it. Also there was only one other cpl. In the restaurant and they had not even received their food either. I think with service like this this restaurant is destined to be a failure before long like many of the the restaurants in out area… As God food not sure what it taste like since I never had the chance to eat…

Went there on a Sunday morning for breakfast, expected the place to have at least a couple of people. It was empty with only my 5 year old and my husband. Didn’t quite like the vibe but the menu looked pretty decent so ordered steak and eggs, an omelet with hash browns and a kids pancake with some sides. We asked the waiter for some scrambled eggs instead of bacon for our kid and the steak to be medium… which is normal when you order a STEAK.
Food came 10 minutes later, COLD! There was not a damn soul in the restaurant yet our food tasted like it was made three days ago. She bought out the pancake (1) and didn’t give any syrup. If there were couple steps over well done, then that would be our steak. cold, hard, chewy and tasted like it was pre-​cooked for someone else before. The hash-​browns were soggy and cold like it came out of the refrigerator. Our two sunny side up eggs tasted like it also came out of the refrigerator.
We were EXTREMELY disappointing not only with the food but the service. We had a hard time eating it, but didn’t want to be rude so forcefully ate the food as much as we could. My husband didn’t even finish his steak and without asking, the waitress took the plate! I am 7 months pregnant, and I literally had a stomach ache after 5 minutes of chewing my omelet.
We eat out at least 3 days a week because we are foodies, and not all places are great I get it. We are usually too lazy to write a review even if something was bad, but this was absolutely outrageous! Save your money, eat McDonalds if you have to, but don’t expect to have fresh, decent meal at this place.

I had the spicy avocado and bacon chicken sandwich and my wife and the Reuben sandwich. Both sandwiches were very good. The fries were a bit underdone and should have been left in the frier another 1 – 2 minutes.
We got there at 11am and were the only customers. we saw three workers and all of them were very helpful and polite. We left around noon.
A couple of suggestions to the business…
Close the front door when the guy next-​door is smoking. We could smell his smoke the whole time we ate.
Cook your fries longer.

My husband and I arrived ten minutes one evening for dinner, not realizing they were about to close. We were happily greeted by the hostess and were seated right away. My husband had the double cheeseburger with fries and enjoyed his meal. I had the chicken and waffles with potatoe skins as an appetizer. Food was seasoned well so our meals tasted like we fixed them at home. We will be coming back!

Ate here today. The service was great. Very friendly staff. The restaurant is very clean, but most important is the food. It was delicious. Made just the way we liked it. It was fresh and tasted like a great home cooked meal.
