Capone’s Pub & Grill

I followed the recommendation for the Cajun tuna steak and it was spot on. I ordered it medium rare and it was perfect. Great fresh side salad, fries and gravy Canadian style and wonderful service from the bartender/​waitress. Don’t let the bar designation of this place fool you.

Food is so so but my biggest complaint was the wait, over an hour for our food and we didn’t even order crazy stuff, soup, salad and grilled chicken sandwich with chips. Very slow

Just moved here ~7 mos ago, been checking out all the different pubs/​grills– a different one each week. Went to Capone’s last night, kinda slow at first but later picked up; but that’s not what matters. The service by ADAM our bartender was so warm, friendly, funny! Loved him immediately. Then we ordered food, a filet sandwich au jou, and a big burger with gravy, gravy fries and cheese fries and REAL deep fried cheese curds as well as chicken quesadilla. The chefs name is COREY and he actually takes pride in his food, you can tell. Everything was cooked to perfection, perfectly seasoned and not rushed. I wish I’d have taken some photos, I will next time.
Last night was the first night we actually stayed out past 1am, other places were fine but not as fun so we’d leave shortly after dinner. This is DEFINITELY in our top 2 places to go for great food and great service, the other is the Log Cabin in Howard’s Grove by the way. Capone’s is closer though :) my only suggestion is the pricey juke box where hackers can hijack your $$! Seems that this is a problem with this type of music system all over the place. Pick out a great station on Pandora and play that for us for free, just sayin…
Oh, and we took the FREE taxi home (gave a good tip though) for safety! We’ll DEFINITELY be back! Sorry guys, you’ve been warned! :)

This is the gem of Manitowoc, If you want a place that has food that will blow your mind (quesadilla in particular) then come to Capone’s. If you want a place to have a drink and relax, then come to Capone’s. If you want a staff that is fun, friendly and an atmosphere of locals that are enjoyable, COME TO CAPONE’S! If you are reading this, trust me and hang your hat here once. I promise you, it will not be a one and done dining experience. –Ken–

Wow, this place just keeps amazing me. I had the Cajun tuna steak again and it was awesome. Who would expect to get this good of food at a bar? The burgers and wraps were the main attraction but I’m hooked on the tuna steak now. Order it rare, you can always have it sent back for more cooking but I suggest you try it rare. You won’t be disappointed.

Great bartenders! Extensive food menu with great options and decent prices! Never had a bad food item. And the bar has a Cheers feel to it. Everyone knows your name! Most amount of tap beer options in the city and a great liquor choices as well!

We had a pretty good night drinking here. The people at the bar were all having a good time. They have a jukebox that will let you play anything, but than someone skip s whatever they don’t like. Lucky for us, we stopped in on a death metal night. The beers were pretty cheap, and we did not have any food.

In any other town, I’d give this place 3 stars, but they get an extra star for daring to have the only vegetarian options in the city. Those choices are…

I went with the wrap (hold the cheese, hold the pesto) as it came with a side of chips and salsa — I had decided not to bother trying to figure out how vegan their fries were.
The wrap was really good. The beer choices excellent. I’d recommend this place to any vegetarian/​vegans visiting the area (I presume any local dietary freaks are quickly run out of town).

Capone’s is pretty allright in my book. The food is definitely a step above your standard pub fare. When my husband and I stayed in Manitowoc earlier this spring, we decided to eat dinner here both nights — our sandwiches were that good. (BTW — the buffalo chicken wrap is really damn good — and I usually don’t eat anything buffalo /​spice related like that).
Our server was AWESOME, and she was very attentive to my husband’s shellfish allergy.
All in all, we’ll probably be back next year.

Great place to eat! The food is superb and the drinks are divine. They don’t mind if you are picky with your food. The sandwiches are very creative in name and flavor. Capone’s is well known to locals and tourists should stop in to discover this little gem too.

Way above pub food!!! Great food with very reasonable pricing. Food has high quality ingredients & very appealing plating. A must visit in manitowoc.
