I just left here for Thanksgiving, an upon entering the lady at the door was not present. Like she asked us 3 times how many people were with us. At least our waitress was nice, but she didn’t know if they had daquris or not. The guy at the bar made me one an it tasted watered down. Our waitress talked us out of getting the highest meal on the menu the steaks. She told us they were rubbery an are a hit ir a miss most of the time. So we ended up getting the tenders which were so sub par an gross. I could have went to Walmart an bought some tenders an drenched them in hot sauce. My boyfriend’s fries were cold an it was freezing we couldn’t even get comfortable enough to take our coats off an probably eat some more. We for sure won’t be coming back to this Applebees. No thx.

This is one of the best Applebee’s that I have gone to. The service is just awesome and the food is great for the price you pay. In addition, we love our Applebee’s because they support our Vets every year on Veteran’s day with free meals from their select menu.

Bad service and food I didn’t want to finish. Nasty bathrooms and a bad odor in the restaurant. Don’t plan on visiting again at this location.

This place is the worst thing in Mckinney. Service is so horrible unless you are a regular. Place stinks like urine. Glasses smell too. Buy beer from the bottle. I don’t eat here because I have seen complaints about roaches in the food. I do not recommend this place. Disappointed…

The food is bland and generic. We tried the triple pork sandwich and it tasted like barbeque sauce with something chewy. The nachos were the best thing we ordered but the cook forgot to layer the cheese and meat so it was one big blob of goo.

Stuck somewhere between a 3 and a 4, but $ 1 short PBRs gets them the round up. Service was average(perfectly acceptable) in all regards. Food was typical Aplebee’s fare. Getting in and out of the lot is a pain just like every other business on this stretch of 380.

The description given by the menu is not what you recieve. It was mediocre at best and the waitress we had was definitely not trained yet but by herself. Won’t be back there any time soon.

Stopped here for a late lunch on a Monday. We were acknowledged by the bartender immediately upon entering and were seated shortly thereafter. Our server initially took a few minutes to greet us, but it appeared she was the only server dedicated to the restaurant, so I did not mind. We took several minutes to decide on our order and she checked back with us at appropriate intervals. My boyfriend and I both ordered from the lunch combo menu, which allows you to pick two choices from two lists of food. I ordered the Turkey, Bacon and Avocado Sandwich and Tomato Basil Soup. He had the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad and 4-Cheese Mac & Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders. I was surprised that there were quite a few people in the restaurant for a late Monday afternoon. It appeared to be quite popular with the elderly crowd! Our food was delivered in a timely manner and our drinks never got below half full. Tomato basil soup was the perfect temperature and delicious, I enjoyed dipping my sandwich in it. It was gone too soon but was the perfect amount of food for lunch. My boyfriend commented that there was a good amount of dressing on his salad, as some places tend to not provide enough dressing. He also enjoyed the slightly sweet flavor of the mac & cheese dish. I do think the restaurant probably needs at least another server during the day. The poor girl was doing her best, but there was one rude patron, who actually called across the restaurant to get her attention, and failing, got up, walked over to the server(who was helping another customer) and said«I’m ready to order now.» How rude! She may have been slightly delayed, but we were well taken care of, and I’ve had much, much worse service. Overhearing the bartender at times, he was interacting with the guests and seemed to enjoy his job. We’ll be back!

Candace… or Candy as her regulars called her… ruined my birthday! I really wanted a few drinks/shots and that triple chocolate meltdown. I was self-seated at the bar for over 10mins before I had to flag down the host who was nice enough to take my order because Candace was MIA. He then passed it on to a 2nd guy who couldn’t figure out how to make my martini. Then Candace finally showed up and lambasted them both. I was there for 1.5hrs and I kept asking her repeatedly for drinks and appetizers and she ignored me to hold conversations with her regulars, check her phone messages and call whomever. The manager even had to help her out at the bar during some of her disappearing acts. Whenever I finally got her attention, she would say ‘I’m not a mind-reader Ma’am’. She didn’t have to be a mind-reader to know she was ignoring the ‘new’ customer… and all her regulars knew it too because I asked them why she was doing that. Then she started rushing me but not saying why in a very low voice now that no one understood compared to all her earlier louder conversations. How was I who am not a night owl supposed to know the ‘last call’ whisper she did for her tables was supposed to somehow encompass us at the bar? ‘Open til 2am’ is all I knew. I don’t eat out nor be out that last. I may not be a regular but I had under duress been to this location before since my Richardson location closed. Horrible backwoods service both times. Richardson manager Mike is the best. I hope he goes back when their new location opens if it hasn’t already. I just found out it tonight had relocated not closed.

My second time to eat in McKinney first was Chili’s which was bad. Applebee’s took the cake for the worst food by far. Everyone in my party had complaints. Anything with artichoke was as salty as a salt lick. My steak which was ordered rare, came back medium. Others ordered medium and got will done. The char on the steak turned the flavor to charcoal. Worst food and terrible service. Won’t ever come back.

The price for the quality of food is great. We have been going to Applebee’s for years. How ever at this particular resturant the cleanliness of this particular location is not good. The tile floor is sticky, table tops sticky, there was a horrible, stinky, stale, dirty carpet odor. They need to seriously call Zerorez for the carpet and clean their tables correctly.

We were moving on Thanksgiving Day and we were pretty sure we wouldn’t find a place to eat dinner, but low and behold Applebee’s was open and fairly busy. I had the Asian Chicken Salad and it was wonderful. My husband got a steak and he really liked it. We are so grateful for them being open :)

Haven’t been to an Applebee’s in a decade, but I received a gift card, so we gave it a try. The service was quick and the waitress very friendly. I ordered the honey and pepper seared steak, I ordered it medium rare. It was cooked to order and served hot. My husband got the boneless ribs. They were served hot, he said they were ok. My parents were with us and my mothers steak, which she ordered medium, came well done. They took it back and apologized. Brought a new one out and it was cooked much better. Over all we enjoyed our meal. I would give a 5 star, but the place needs updating. It looked stuck in the 80’s.

The Potato Twisters were very good with the queso. They were a little under cooked making them chewy in places. JJ our waitress was very nice and upbeat with out being fake. As for my meal my steak look, tasted and had the texture of a microwave dinner salisbury steak. The garlic broccoli didn’t even taste like garlic and my steamed new potatoes had good flavor but were over cooked. All in all I could saved the money and got a hungry man microwave dinner at home.

I ordered a French dip sliders. The aujus sauce was nothing but fat with no flavor. The brought me some gravy and it tasted like no gravy I ever had. It too was not good. Desert on the other hand was great. Too bad the food is not as consist ant as deasert.

I was really hoping this place would prove me wrong but from the second I walked through the door I was uncomfortable. My boyfriend and I came Tuesday night around 9pm. We walked in and no one greeted us or said anything the guy at the bar just left us standing there looking stupid. A minute later a guy looking like Kenny rogers came out and seated us. Our waitress was nice. However she took forever and would disappear for extended periods of time. I got up to use the restroom and when I ran into the manager(guy who seated us) I asked where the restroom was and he said follow the carpet(no help). Bathrooms were equal to that of a decent gas station. The food was horrible. I even hated using the silverware. I’d rather eat with plasticware than cheap flat old worn silverware. I never write poor reviews. But this place just creeped me out way to much. I felt as though I was in a time warp. Back to the 80s and in the worst way possible.

They cleared out the old waiters and beefed up their menu choices so I’m back. The service is good and food decent and prices not too high for dinner. It seems though that if you want to add a salad to a meal it is more expensive than the average restaurant. Example: went to another restaurant and they let me add a salad instead of one of the sides, no extra. At Applebees, you can add a salad but it is a standard price which is around $ 3 but for two people your padding the ticket in my opinion. The choices are plentiful so I keep coming back but don’t go there when I’m wanting salad with my meal. The last meal I had there was the Parmesan encrusted steak with vegetables and potato, very good and tender.
